can't complain about their Food it is delicious!!!! only thing i Highly DISLIKE about this place is you literally stand there and watch them make your food with their bare hands- NO GLOVES! Now that is very unsanitary. One of the ladies who work there made me a sand which, while making my sandwhich, she opened the fridge, then wiped her hands on her apron then continued making my sandwhich. Everyone else that works there will make your order with their bare hands! thats just plain GROSS.

My good friend jerry Sienfield took me here one and the food was very sensual but just a warning to all fellow prospectors, ALL THE APPLES HERE ARE "REGULAR" SIZED. if you are searching for the mythical giant apple of crooksville (Last sighted in 1561) this is not the place. lovely atmosphere though

A first-rate kosher-style deli. The Big Apple has a big business in downtown Oakland as a first-rate caterer, but it's a great cafe also, with a cosmopolitan menu. The owner is from Palestine and his wife is from El Salvador; what a great couple in the kitchen! The Big Apple has a very friendly staff, the restaurant is clean, and the guacamole, hummus, baba ghanoush, the Latin food and the wide choice of New York-style sandwiches are all tasty and nicely presented. Good prices, too!
