Happy Valley Restaurant - Oakland - Photo album

Wanted to try it after it reopened. Heard it's now owned by new people. Ordered a variety of our favorites. Pretty greasy, unfortunately for some dishes. Service is now more courteous than previously. Will go back for a few of their items when craving of dimsum hits. Cilantro shrimp dumpling - ther
Great Dim Sum. It gets really busy on weekends so be prepared to wait. It’s not an overwhelming set of choices for dim sum and most of the dishes are done better then other places in downtown Oakland. The brown chicken feet are excellent as are the shrimp dumplings.
Was here on the 4th of July around 9am, by 9:30 it s packed. Dim sum is done well here-large har gow, siu mai are tender, jin dui, the usual suspects. Food is not salty nor oily, comes out hot, you order off the menu and the wait isn't too long. Parking isn't plentiful, but not hard to find. A gem
We came for dim sum and also had a plate of noodles. Everything tasted good and the place was packed at noon on a Tuesday. Had to wait a bit for the seats to empty out, but it was worth it. There are no dim sum carts rolling around. You order what you want from a menu checklist and they bring it ou
This is a very good Dim Sum restaurant. Food is tasty, service is good and food comes out reasonably fast. The thing I like best is they do NOT have carts laden with food that wander around the dining room. Instead, you order by marking off your choices on a paper menu and they deliver it as soon as
Typical Chinese restaurant with dim sum most mornings. Long long waits every weekend morning. I've bad experiences here where they would seat 1-2 people at a table of 8-10. Bad crowd management which explains all the long waits.
I have been going there for several years and taking many friends, they sll love the food, very friendly staff. I have visited Hong Kong and there food at Happy Valley is as good. Best Dim sum food in the East Bay...to get as good you have to go the San Francisco China Town. David
