Review Banana Blossom - Oakland

About 10-15$ per item. Each item is more than enough for one person ( even if your quite hungry). The curries are probably the best item they have, although the veggie dishes they have are also excellent. Good place for vegetarians since many of the dishes offer tofu. One of the better Thai places I've had in Berkeley/Oaand area.

Always fresh and delicious pad thai and shrimp fried rice! I will not order the sweet and sour shrimp mostly whole uncooked onions and bell peppers, shrimp was barely represented.

Never understand why this place isn't packed. Great menu and super execution. In evaluating Asian food I always go for the eggplant dish- weak execution results in a soggy mess with excess of sauce. Banana Blossom has fantastic eggplant, they know Thai food. Didn't try the sushi. Sleeper success.

Fantastic. I moved back to Oakland a year ago and have found my go-to Thai restaurant. Very nice people, very good flavors, everything seemed fresh and lively... Papaya Salad, top notch. Musssman curry, outstanding. Green beans were killer. We'll be going back.

One of the best Thai restaurants around. The pork and eggplant is perfectly flavored and I always enjoy the poki salad. It's a great place to go for date night, with good ambiance. The service could be a bit faster, but everyone is welcoming and friendly. Oh, and they have good wine offerings as well.

The noodle dish was good, however I will not go back as there are several better Thai Restaurants in Oakland. I asked if the food was authentic since I have cooked Thai food for over 20 years. The answer from the waiter was why have you been to Thailand? Service was too slow considering there were only a few customers.

Do NOT order from these con artists! First of all, whatever online order system they use is incredibly slow. I was told 45-60 minutes for delivery, it took over an hour. Secondly, they are overpriced - $35 for two chicken red curries and an order of spring rolls!! $8 for spring rolls?? Third, NO RICE!! Who in their right mind eats thai curry without rice?? When we called about it, we were told rice does not come with any dish, it's $2 extra. NOPE. I will never eat here again and suggest you avoid them like the plague!

Great little Thai place, nearby the Park St. Bus stop. I basically stick to the classic pad thai or flat noodles dish, though they have plenty of options to choose from, including a Wine Menu. We usually order take-out, but if you have time to dine in then definitely do so, their service has always been pleasant, and they are rarely over-crowded so couples can enjoy having conversations without straining to hear their partner. Best part is the awesome jazz music they have playing, only classic jazz standards from the greats, no cheesy smooth jazz or elevator bossa-nova music that is mistaken for jazz far too often. Makes a great spot for a 1st date if you don't want to break the bank.
