Review Caspers - Oakland

Walking in the store is like walking back in time, even if the hot dogs are modern day prices. These hot dogs are solid!

While they may not be considered Gourmet by many, Casper's Hot Dogs are one of the last bastions of old-school working-class American Cuisine in Oakland and the East Bay, and still maintain a lot of that value in their food. The way they put it together, the hot dog that is, small wedge of onion small wedge of tomato, maybe a little bit of mustard and relish, and a hot dog that snaps provides the perfect experience as you bite into a soft bun hit a hot onion and then have it cooled by the tomato, and then fighting into the snappy flavor of a delicious sausage, or hot dog, that is. You got to try this if you haven't because like some of the other places I review it's not going to be around forever. This is a piece of Oakland history.

Delicious. The girls that work here are very personable and pleasant. The hot dogs are always warm and fresh. Keep up the good work ladies. The telegraph location is definitely the Casper's to go to.

Excellent each time I come here, and the toppings always seem to be fresh.

Easy in easy out, even when there's a line. The dogs are always good, great snap on the casing. Buns are always steamed nicely and the produce is always nice and fresh. I guess it would have to be, the go through is so fast, no chance for it to go bad. I had two of the Famous Casper Dogs, my usual. I love the fact that they put tomato on it. It works so well with the white onion and mustard. All in all, great hot dogs.

Always a tasty lunch or dinner choice. They have many variations of their delicious hot dogs... Cheese, Sauerkraut, Chili, and all the fixings !

The hot dog was good. The entire meal was a great little treat. The service was nice and fast. We enjoyed the little trip down memory lane. We grew up on these hotdogs. They are noticeably smaller dogs but still pretty good.

Small hot dog joint. Price is $$ for a polish dog... Makes me want to renew my costco card for $1 polish dog and drink.
