Sitting down with my friends in this spacious and open feeling sushi bar felt natural. The warm tones of the redwood panelled walls and the generous portions of food and drink melded into the easy going type of vibe I'm always hoping for. There is a great happy hour selection and a fully stocked bar. The fish was quality. I enjoyed the hamachi salad and the hamachi Kama. I'll be returning soon!

Excellent quality! A full bar, even! Be prepared to drink a sh!t ton of sake if you order the large. The only minus is the sushi chef is a master, but he is not quick, get an appetizer while you wait for the main attraction!

while the interior and cool appearance draws you in, the sushi is lackluster. I ordered a chirashi bowl and the fish did not shine. the server even had to ask the sushi chef if the rice was still good which was off putting. Has a fun bar if that's your thing but wouldn't recommend for a meal.

First time trying this place. We choose it for its proximity to our destination for the evening. While we waited for the 3rd person to arrive we were never left alone for more than a few minutes. The restaurant was not busy at this point so maybe the server was bored. When we finally ordered dinner there was absolutely no warmth or engagement at all. Now, maybe they had something going on in their personal life so we chose to let it go. Within a few minutes my meal arrived. Mine was the only dinner served hot so I gather they brought it as soon as it was cooked but, why then, wait until my dinner plate was finished and cleared before even bringing their meals out? 30 minutes between. No words of apology or explanation about tardiness but I think we might have all gone out to dinner together because we want to dine together. While the food was fine the quality or lack of service certainly did not make us want to return.

This place is one of my favorites and I keep coming back here when I want good sushi.
The rolls are simply divine. Dragon, Caterpillar, California, Spicy Tuna, all were damn good. The wife and I go here quite often now and it's our "go to" destination with friends. The Nigiri is also damn good, always order Toro if it's available
Also I consider myself a beer dude, but the Singapore Sling they make at their bar is crazy good and so is their dirty martini.
Highly recommend it.

The owner (who is bald and wearing black shirt) is so so rude to his employees, today we walked in and the server was so nice , 5 min later he started yelling at her, saying ‘don’t you understand what I’m saying’ out loud. Shame on you. Never ever yell at people. It’s not about the fancy restaurant or the food. You need to learn how to talk and give them respect. Saying this , I will never come again. Learn how to show them love.

Friendly staff, quick service, fresh sushi, hip vibe, later happy hour. Could benefit from a few more patrons. Great find on Piedmont, supporting our locals is easier when they deliver a great experience & solid quality.

Good place to hang out. The sushi is pretty good, and I have always found the staff to be friendly and service is quick. There is a bar with a TV, so it is a good place to go if you just want to get a bite and a drink by yourself.
