The Alley is an Oakland Tradition. A must visit. Great steaks, good prices. The decor of an alley with windows, clotheslines, completely funky. You've never been anywhere like it. Jackie is a wonderful hospitable owner. A Piano Bar where everyone has a chance to sing. A regular crowd tops it off.
Legendary Rod Dibble started my karaoke addiction and even gave me cow bell a time or two. The laid back vibe relaxes even the most nervous first timers.
Atmosphere lives up to its name. Our server was on point with friendliness & very attentive to us. The food was really good & for the price! They had karaoke which was great! Def will be back!
Great food and drinks in this Oakland classic nightspot going back to the prohibition era! Singers are really professional, so practice before you show up if you want to sing. If you have out of town guests you want to show a good, authentic time, take them here!
Ye olde dive bar and restaurant with live music provided by people (e.g.YOU) who sing along with really good pianists. One or 2 evenings there is a guitarist. occasionally there has been karaoke or trivial games. Round Robin order of appearance.
Great place to grab a drink. Request a song and sing your heart out with someone playing piano to the song of your choice.
**CASH ONLY BAR** Grabbed a beer after work. Full of regulars. Definitely extremely dive-y crowd. But the ones I spoke to were friendly. Love the interior of this place. Supposed to simulate being outdoors. Sort of reminds me of being on a TV Set. Would return for the ambience. The piano also gave a mellow-type atmosphere on the night I went. Lots of 60s/70s jams in the air.
Dive bar meets piano bar/karaoke bar meets steakhouse. It's got the decor of a dive bar, it's got a person playing the piano or guitar for karaoke singers, and it's got an incredible steak.
I went there for the steak, deciding between this and Palmetto and Wood House, and i was not disappointed.
Iconic music bar. Ultra casual, simple, rustic with great piano and guitar. Great place to hang out with decent drinks!
