Review Shandong Restaurant - Oakland

Great restaurant in Oakland’s Chinatown serving up unique hand-pulled noodle and other tasty dishes! I’d recommend ordering family-style and trying at least the Sesame Paste Noodles and Eggplant! They were very busy even at 8pm on Tuesday so order takeout or get there early for a table.

It's not the best, but reasonably priced and big portions. Noodle is fresh, they make them there, but not as delicious. Keep in mind that you need to add salt/soy sauce. Sizzling beef and scallop was meh. Overpowered by a specific spice (not sure what) and it was too saucy as I was expecting it to be cooked like fajita. Instead, they brought a very hot plate and poured the cooked dish into it. For the price and portion, quality was OK.

This is one of The Bay Area's Top Chinese Restaurants(in my opinion) I've never been to in the BayArea hands down period. All I can say is it's a must try experience. Meaning in my opinion it's that good. . . Don't be fooled by the size of the Restaurants the service is on point as well is the food. 🙏🏾😋😋

Ordered lunch special chicken mangolian with rice. The quantity was ample. The food was made to order. The rice was rightly done. The main item the chicken mangolian was bit watery. Will recommend them to improve quality a bit in preparation nothing more. No need to add more quantity or ingredient just a bit more focus in preparation

The best Chinese restaurant in town 🙌🏽 amazing food, everything you lrder here will be delicious. Their staff is super warm and helpful, they'll anticipate any need you might have - they're way ahead in the game. Anything with their homemade noodles will be amazing. The broccoli was also yummy.

The hand-pulled noodles where thiiiiick and the flavor was definitely in every bite. We were seated pretty quickly even though it was a busy Tuesday night. Our order was taken pretty fast and the food came out within a few minutes. They had vinegar, soy sauce, and chilli oil at the table. You wont be disappointed.

The Chinese beer was great The food is very greasy and salty. If you have High blood pressure stay away. They do give great portions for the price but overall not worth it. Had to go next door for fruits after eating some of this artery clogger.

The handmade noodles were very hard and squishy. Everything was bland be ready to put a hot sauce in every dish. It looks popular and many people came in. The food is below average I would say so is the ambience.

Having the noodles with spicy meat sauce (hand cut noodles) and amazing dumplings. Second time this week, yes they are that good!

Don't Mind if I Do!. Shan Dong is what I want about half the time when I crave chinese food: heavy, flavorful, textured, and generally greasy. The owners are delightful and kind. The handcut noodles are a taste treat. Shan Dong Beef is all I want in flavor but I also understand a certain resemblance to P.E. Orange Chicken that my sister pointed out to me. I like coming here when I just want a satisfying comfort meal.

Like it?? no, LOVE IT. Dan Dan Noodles are a must as well as the onion pancake.
Parking can be difficult but worth all efforts.
There in no reason for a 66% Urban Spoon rating!

Joe and I headed into SF for a day, and decided to give Oakland chinatown a try. Joe had been here a few times before, and I’ve been here once before. ..AMAZING DUMPLINGS! This place is known for their steamed pork dumplings and may I say, bravo!...But all dishes take 2nd place to the spicy meat noodle dish.

Shan Dong Mandarin Restaurant is a family run Chinese Restaurant in Oakland’s Chinatown focusing on Shan Dong regional Cuisine. The focus is on noodles and dumplings. It was top rated on Yelp and has been mentioned in newspapers, so we decided to try it.

This tiny restaurant in Oakland’s Chinatown gets a lot of raves for its dumplings, which you can sometimes see them make at the front along with the hand-pulled noodles. Since it’s in Chinatown, it also makes it another lunch option for me during the work
