Best pho broth in Oakland! We came on a Thursday for lunch. We both ordered the #1 - pho dac biet $14.50. I should have gotten the #2 because that one came with beef balls for the same price. The broth tasted clean and is the best I've had in Oakland. It is one of the best in the bay for sure. We also had the chicken wings, very tasty and an ice coffee. They make their iced Vietnamese coffees with crushed ice. It was fragrant with a hint of hazelnut. So darn good. Great job my friends Pho Ao Sen. We had an awesome lunch.

Decent food for a very expensive price. I would not want to pay $15-$16 per bowl, when other places typically charge between $8-9 (normal) to $12 (expensive). Maybe because it's closer to SFO the prices are that much higher...

The restaurant was clean. However, at the time we were there the bathroom had no paper towels. Nothing to wipe your hands. Given that we are still in Covid-19 this surprising. Also, the hand sanitizer outside the restroom was empty! Not good! To the dishes we ordered: Spring Rolls, just two, was kind of expensive (almost $9). Beef noodle (#3) was so so, I have had better. Other dish was number (#36), which was just average. Overall the dishes we ordered were just average.

Prices have gone up with inflation sadly. Still my favourite pho in town. The place has its own parking lot which is a plus. I've been going here for a long time now, I'm thinking at least almost 10 years.

I have to say this place serves decent pho, but the prices are little bit expensive for such quite small portion of noodles. There are many pho places in East Bay have bigger portion with similar prices. This place seems to have an extra charge (it's called non-cash adjustment) for customers using a credit card, which I don't think I saw any signs of notifying customers or the cashier has the courtesy to tell us. A mediocre place receives no more than 3 stars review.

Service was extremely poor. The people were polite, but botched up our order. Pho Dac Biet was mediocre and was definitely not worth the wait and was not the size that was ordered. We ordered 2 large and received 1 large and 1 medium. The only redeeming quality was that our appetizers were better than the actual entree, which was the chicken which was pretty good. Overall, poor service, mediocre food.

This restaurant is so busy and they have parking both beside the restaurant and across the street. We started with the standard, some salad roll, which they call Goi Cuon- Spring Rolls , which looks really impressive! The taste was quite amazing as well, even their dipping sauce was pretty unique and very delicious! These huge salad rolls were stuffed with both shrimp and pork, and the standard stuff like vermicelli, mint, bean sprouts and lettuce. We also got another standard appetizer, the Cha Gio- Egg Rolls which was the crispy/fried version of the Vietnamese Spring Roll. They call it an egg roll here, which is quite different from a Chinese Egg Roll, but a lot of people use these terms interchangeable. These Egg Rolls was a mixture of ground pork, shrimp, vegetables, cellophane noodles, and wrapped then fried to perfection. It was actually really tasty without the dipping sauce!

Pho Ao Sen serves up some of the best Pho in the Bay Area. Give it a try, the prices are very reasonable. Checkout Tamarine in Palo Alto for some really good Pho.

Pho Ao Sen has actually been around for years in a tiny, dive-like spot on International Boulevard. But it moved earlier this year to a larger location on East 12th Street in the former spot of the dim sum tea house King of King. Its web site makes it out to be a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant (they also have a location in Mesa, Ariz.), and that does come through in the interiors with calming green-and-gol
