Englanders - Oakland - Photo album

I want to thank the woman behind the counter who packed up my vintage dishes and ornaments so carefully. We made it all the way back to Laurel (3 hours plus stops) and everything arrived safely. Fun store and good food for breakfast or lunch. A must-stop if you’re anywhere near Deep Creek Lake.
What a gem! We visited Oakland for Labor Day weekend and decided to have breakfast in town one morning. We stumbled upon Englanders antique store and noticed they had a diner inside. It's the original diner/soda foundation counter that's been there since the 40s. It was busy but we recieved excellen
A former pharmacy/general store/lunch counter that now houses antique consignments. The cafe was great: Old school lunch counter and booths, servers were helpful and friendly, and the food was great. (We had lunch) We didn’t get one, but the milkshakes were in high demand!
I visited here several times when I was working with Habitat For Humanity; the place has a comforting atmosphere, and seems like a cross between an antique shop, restaurant and social club. The vibe is friendly to all, definitely recommended for visitors to the area.
Stopped in for breakfast. For an older establishment this is a must see if you are in Okaland, MD. The store itself is a gem with lots of antiques and odds and ends. I do recommend the sausage gravy breakfast and the steak n eggs. Both were delicious.
I came in from Virginia Beach, VA, and had breakfast there, and the French toast was on point. Great food and good family-friendly vibe. The thrift store shopping after in-house was a bonus.
Party of two went for breakfast on a Thursday in August. The place seemed popular. Service was quick and friendly. I wasn't very hungry, so just had the brownie sundae, and loved it. Prices are very reasonable.
Food and service was very good. Very cozy hometown atmosphere located inside a very quaint antique store. Breakfast menu was very straightforward and delicious. Will return here when I'm in the area again.
Always a pleasure when we eat here, the staff is always amazing. Food is always hot and delicious! Staff truly makes you feel like one of their own while you are there!
Great food, great service and fair prices. We came to visit this area for a couple of days and just ended up eating our breakfast here every day!
First time there. Very busy place, had to wait over an hour for food. Food was hot and good. Friendly people and fun atmosphere.
They have a vast variety of antiques from glassware, coins/money, toys, tools, books sport memorabilia, records and small furniture. It’s a great place to visit when the weather gets gloomy.
Nice neat little antique shop and diner. It’s old school so you can sit at the counter while eating, which was good for me, they also offer several tables and booths. We had the western omelet and the biscuits and gravy. Both were good and the prices are fair. I’d go back
Fun thrift shop and lunch counter (and one of the few spots open on Sundays). Good service and good, basic diner food. I had a real milkshake, sandwich and scratch cinnamon roll for less than $12. The store part was fun to wonder around.
Breakfast was bomb! Biscuits n gravy, buckwheat cakes, friggin amaze, oh em jee
Great place, food was outstanding, very polite staff, very affordable. Pancakes were huge, recommend just getting one for a small child.
Busy, busy - great attitude and good food at the counter or booths. Great burgers and shakes!
