Elderberry Restaurant is a great place to have dinner. Their wine selection is plentiful for all spending levels. The menu changes often as it's based off of the fresh ingredients available. The menu is done as a set course and you have the choice of 3 or 4 servings. I went with the 4 as the menu descriptions were amazing and honestly I wanted to try everything!! My favorites things were the crab cake (it was so delicious and the roumalade that accompanied was mouth watering) and the Meyer lemon creme brulee (perfect blend of tart and sweet without an over powering lemon flavor). Their atmosphere is perfectly romantic, cozy, well lit and comfortable. After a few bottles of wine the noise level can be elevated but over all this is the perfect place to dine and a must visit while in Oakhurst!
The food was delicious. The cocktails were incredible (the Peach Bellini and the Manhattan). But the star of the show were the wait staff. Very personable, and pleasant to be around. They made the evening a success. Thank you for making our special birthday evening a night to remember!
I had the incredible opportunity to stay at the Chateau with my husband for two nights - both nights we ate here. Being fairly knowledgeable foodies, we were floored by every aspect of our dining experience.
First of all, it is worth mentioning that the wait staff seemed to know how to do EVERYTHING, from serving to pouring to intensely knowing every aspect of the menu by heart. (We even saw one of the staff making the delicious cocktails in the bar area!) We were very impressed to know that one of the people serving was the Somme, whose wine pairings were thoughtful and elegant. Overall, we really loved the staff’s attention to detail and think they deserve their own applause.
As for the food - we thought everything was executed perfectly. I have so much I can say. The plating for every dish was artfully balanced and delicate. The amuse-bouche was different both nights and delightfully creative. Primarily, though, the classic dishes that we had both nights - salmon, scallops, and then the ribeye were all as good as you could possibly have them. I would dare to say that this was the best scallop dish I ever had. We loved the creative accompaniments to the dishes like the sage beignets to the salmon. Our complements go out to the chef and I hope he receives them!
Great experience overall. (Also the hotel is amazing as well!) Thank you to the Elderberry team for a lovely time - we will be back!
This a fine dining establishment. Excellent cuisine, superb service, excellent wines, and a memorable experience. We don't do this often, but glad we did.
What a wonderful way to end the day. My husband and I were on a trip and were fortunate enough to experience the Elderberry House. Fantastic service, beautiful and wonderful tasting food, and nice atmosphere. It was a unique experience for us. We are planning to have dinner here the next time we visit Yosemite. Thank you Elderberry house for a beautiful evening.
The food and service was outstanding. Each course, of our four course meal, was exceptional. The layers of wonderful flavors and textures, along with the presentation was up there with some of our best meals ever. We also ordered the wine pairing to go with our meal, which we were quite disappointed in. We are quite knowledgeable and finicky about our wines. None of the wines paired well with any of the courses, which was a disappointment since the food was so outstanding. Probably 95% of most people would never notice the poor pairings.
Beautiful Fine Dining Experience.
Perfect for a special occasion or romantic date night. Ambiance is enchanting with soft glow of chandelier, elegant dinning rooms, and beautiful patio seating. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.
Food was delicious and beautifully presented. You could choose from either a 3 course $70 or 4 course menu $90. Each course had a selection of dishes you could choose from: soup or salad, appitizer, entree and dessert. Each course was taken out one by one and you had time to enjoy each course. They had a way of combining different flavor to make a dish that was familiar, but different. At the end of our meal we were gifted a bottle of Coquelicot wine which I thought was so nice of them.
Service: was top notch professional and informative. They described each course as they came out. They check on us regularly and even took pictures for us.
Perfect place to spend our Anniversary.
