This place didn’t disappoint in Milwaukee and has carried over the same great food and vibe to Oak Creek. Empanadas are the best!!! Remember.. this is Cuban, not Mexican food. You get the meats and dishes that celebrate simple and comforting flavors from Cuban cuisine. Chicken Tropical grilled perfectly with hints of fruit, and while I love beans, the crisp grilled veggies option Hit the spot compared the many other restaurant’s soggy sad side veggies. The mojitos are the best in the city, and do yourself a favor and get the flan for desert. You won’t be sad. Welcome addition to Oak Creeks dining options!
Cubanita's is my favorite place to share a dinner with my husband, delicious food and drinks, great environment, and the best attention. Yesterday our waitress was Ellen, a wonderful girl. We recommend this place to all without hesitation.
This was a new, and great experience for me. Awesome food, and great atmosphere. I recommend going there again. Oh and you must get the coconut rum sauce with white fish.
Red and white sangria were both excellent. Sweet plantains were a great starter... main course we had the polo tropical EXCELLENT and camarones with veggies and the yellow rice was also very good. Beans had a great mild Smokey flavor. Food was excellent, atmosphere was also wonderful. A definite must try!
Excellent food/ everything was great- drinks were awesome- service very friendly and personable- and i would highly recommend a visit
Plantains and guacamole are a must! The Cuban, and Pollo Sandwhich are delicious. Great music, friendly service, and the mojitos are the best! Great spot for any occasion
Loved this place! The food was excellent. All the ingredients tasted fresh and crisp, and the entrees were delicious. I loved the atmosphere, too, with the Latin music. It really made me feel like I was back in central america again. I will definitely be back.

Great staff, food, drinks and overall service. I highly recommend!
We ordered food to carry out. We tried a bunch of things including the tamale, all three empanadas, the guacamole with plantain chips, and the roast pork entrée with yellow rice and red beans. Everything was very good. Will definitely eat here again. Next time we will eat in the restaurant and try some of their drinks.
Amazing food and amazing service! I couldn’t wait for this place to open and it didn’t disappoint at all!
Awesome food, great atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Service was quick, and our server was fun and great! Highly recommended.
My wife and I went here for dinner and a drink! Both were amazing! She had the Pollo Tropical and I had the Camarones. Both meals were delicious as were the drinks, mojito and a Caipirinha, Brazilian drink! Can’t wait to go back!
Woah, what an establishment! The food is so great! I can't explain how delicious the food was. My taste buds were REAWAKENED from a state of slumber I didn't even know existed. Google maps only allows 5 stars, which is a shame, because I give this delicious oasis of flavor and culture the entire Milky Way.
A different time, a different place, but the same wholesome food!
I have fond memories of the original Cubinatas in downtown Milwaukee. The location, the decor, & the atmosphere made it a real special destination spot for me. When I found out there was a new, closer one, I was there on my 1st opportunity. We walked in and were invited to sit anywhere we liked. We (ultimately) chose a table inside and waited (kid u not) at least 7-10min before we were waited on or asked for drinks. It. Wasnt. That. Busy. Despite that, staff was friendly and accomodating. Even making a spiked Arnold Palmer for me on the fly.
For apps, I ordered everything I really wanted to try:
Plaintain platter was delicious, especially the hard strips combined with the guac or mojo sauces...mmmmm! Makin my mouth moist just thinkin about it!
The Cubinatas Chicken Tenders were hefty, but a bit dry. The plaintain crust looked really promising but lacked any significant flavor.
The chix/raisin empanadas were also good, but less flavorful than I remember. But the ground beef & cheese one was great!
For entrees, the Macita Bowl was filling! ..crispy pork strips with rice & beans & peppers! The bed of white rice and black beans had minimal flavor. But the crispy, hefty strips of pork more than made up for that. The meat was bursting with enough flavor for the whole dish. I can only assume the rice & beans were made without much salt/seasoning on purpose so patrons could add their own...but there was also no salt/pepper on the tables!
The cuban sandwich was delish...cant really go wrong there.
The ribs were meaty, tender, & flavorful with the guava bbq sauce. But again, the rice and beans lacked any salt/seanoning.
But the texture and taste of real quality meat & ingredients in every bite of everything I had was ever-present. Thats what makes Cubinatas special! It truly tastes like home-cooking made with love and with the best ingredients! Thats ultimately what I take away from every visit to Cubinatas ...and I will definitly, certainly be back!
We had a very wonderful evening this past Wednesday. Arrived at 6pm for Happy Hour and sat outside. The weather cooperated. The Town Square was filling up with family/friends to listen to the band setting up on the far side of the square. Our exceptional waitress took our order and quickly served our first round of 50% off drinks (Happy Hour remember?). Prices of the food were more then reasonable for the portions and flavor built into each dish. We loved everything that was ordered. Plantain platter was shared and it was very good with the various dips. Coco Loco shrimp bowl! You will order it every time you visit. Elena Ruz sammie a big surprise. I always order extra sauces. The vibe…the food…the service, the excellent concert we were enjoying and good friends…make everything extra especial.

I have been in Cuba and loved the food there. Here I could feel a little bit of Cuba's tasting. Try the ropa vieja and the empanadas. The fried chicken with fries was to my kids, but the they were very good too. I haven't tried the drinks, but they looked delicious. Maybe next time. I will be back to try a different menu.
Our first time here and it was a pleasant experience. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, even though we sat near the back of the restaurant. The bf & I each had a mojito, which were good but not very strong. We split a Cubano sandwich, which was a good idea, as it was large! It was very good though, not overly dressed or mushy. We had 2 empanadas: the Espinaca con Queso (spinach with cheese) and a Camarones con Queso (shrimp with cream cheese, red pepper & cilantro). The spinach was well seasoned and plentiful. The sauce in the shrimp empanada was delicious and we both really liked it.
Great food and atmosphere!!! Coconut Mojito!!! Croquetas de Jamon! Plantain chips, fried plantain and yellow plantain with avocado!
Flavorful authentic Cuban food. Lots of fun drinks to choose from. Pricing is fair for the quality of food received. Nice atmosphere and attentive servers.
