Drink only review: 5/5. I'm not sure how many other cocktail bars there are on the island, but this is the closest we could find that was similar to what we experience in the Chicago cocktail scene. The drink was fantastic and the bartender was super nice and knowledgeable. I've heard great things about the food as well!
Best drinks we've ever had. Great bartender. Perfect portions with inventive selection.
We got here late (parents day out, long day, needed a nap before dinner!!) and asked if we could get food to go, the staff was accommodating despite it being a Saturday night after what I'm sure was a long day. A table ending up opening so we dined in and the food did not disappoint. I got the beet salad and it was a flavor explosion. Husband got the burger and said it was the best one he'd had all weekend (of 4 burgers this weekend). Atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. We also enjoyed our cocktails - French 75 (my favorite, hard to find!), Paper Plane, and Whiskey Daisy. So delicious. We'll definitely be making this spot a regular on our Martha's Vineyard trips!
Best bar on Martha's Vineyard! Possibly one of the best in the northeast. The lobster fritters were perfect--complex and not too dry. Bluefish pate was unbelievable. Stools outside make for great people watching, but inside has even better cozy bar ambiance with old-fashioned pendant light bulbs providing warm low light. Best drink was the "last boat" but all drinks were balanced and excellent. Just ask the barkeep for recommendations.
Atmosphere: loved the ambiance here, the booths are high and pretty private. They offer outdoor seating as well.
Service: wonderful and prompt
Food: we loved the charcuterie board!
Drink: great for the whiskey lover! I am a bit of a picky drinker and wish I saw some more options for mixed drinks, but it IS a whiskey bar so that’s on me :)
"Best cocktails on Martha's Vineyard" did not disappoint. But the excellent food was the real surprise. Recommend the lobster fritters and the grilled cheese. Impressive beer and whiskey list. You can't go wrong with any of the superbly balanced drinks. The "last boat" was a standout. The ambience is inviting, cozy and comfortable.
20 by nine has a large beer / wine /whiskey list, but we went for the food. And the food is WOW. The depth of flavor of what seems to be common dishes is amazing. The lobster fritters were unlike anything we've tasted before. The croquettes were delicious and the waygu steak was up there as some of the best steak we've ever had. And we live in NY and frequent all the best steak houses in NYC. Don't overlook this place. It's an absolute gem.
The food here was delicious, I had the veggie burger and it was so fresh tasting, my friend had the tuna tacos and loved them. Drinks were also tasty, we had two bourbon based drinks and they went down easy. On the night we went it was not at all busy and the atmosphere was lacking. In addition, the prices were expensive $19 for a burger.
Great beer list (New England exclusives and Californian legends) , that is a cozy and trendy place to grab a drink. Menu looked good but we didn't have anything to eat. Only downside of the beer prices are a little high (~$7-10)
Went here on a recommendation for the whiskey and now return frequently for the food. Great place to eat and have a few drinks. Atmosphere is perfect and if you can make it to Sunday brunch you shouldn't miss it.
Cool trendy spot. Beer was very different and very good. The food was the same very interesting and very good! The waitstaff was very friendly. The prices are reasonable considering the location. It is a very small spot but we did not wait long for a seat
Fell in love all over again. This place has had it's ups and downs throughout the years but it's back to the original standard. After not frequenting 20byNine for two years, things have changed and for the better. I feel like before the change in personnel, things had plateaued. The food is alive again, the bourbon is the same but it somehow tastes better. My only negative about this place is the lack of air conditioning. I sweat like a dog in heat in this place. 80+ degree day and I may as well have ate supper in the ocean. I was gross feeling leaving. Food - A+. Drinks- A+
We had a great experience at 20byNine. Our bartender, Sarah, was amazing and friendly. The small plates were as excellent as the beer and whiskey choices. Hope to come back soon and often.

I’m a recovering bourbon snob. This place brought me back to the dark side. They have an incredible selection and a tried quite a few. The service was excellent. I’ll put it this way - we spent 3 hours there and we rarely spend more than one at a venue. Great place!
Best bar on the island; knowledgeable staff; exceptional food as well.
Fun Whiskey Bar, great food. We sat at the bar and enjoyed several apps along with signature American whiskey/bourbon drinks. Back door donuts just a walk down the street.
A culinary extravaganza offering a fusion of both comfort food and the out of the ordinary, this establishment also features a wealth of great beers on tap to pair with your meal. A great stop for a late night eat and drink.
The food was great. Not exactly the best place for kids (no high chairs), but we made it work. They were playing some live music which made the whole experience nice.
