I loved the atmosphere and had fish swimming in a pond inside and offered outdoor seating. I would come back if in the area, but it’s pretty pricey for the portions they offer. I wasn’t the biggest fan of their pine nut prawns since it wasn’t fully covered in sauce, but presentation was great. I would get their salmon teriyaki again for sure! Sushi was average, but still a good place if you live in the area. I would love it if they had special vegetarian rolls as well, but still had good options.
Been going to Taki since I was a kid. Just moved back to Marin after 11years, and tried a few other places. Finally went back to Taki and it’s soooo good. Even better then I remember it as a kid, although the bridge over the koi fish pond is gone 😢
Love it and so glad that this family run business is still here in Ignacio after all these years ❤️❤️❤️
Excellent outdoor dog cafe!🐕🦺🐕 The food was reasonably priced. Although I have had better Japanese food that was not on the menu here, my lunch with my dog was a great experience. Those brownish orange “picnic tables” are clean and colorful. The olive tree and umbrellas provide great shade. It is far away from the parking lot so no skateboards or scooters can disturb my dog. My waitress was extraordinarily happy to serve me and gave my dog a bowl of water - he actually drank it, yet he NEVER drinks out of bowls at cafes. I guess he liked the waitress too🐾🐶! That was a wonderful lunch with food to enjoy and seeing my dog so relaxed.
Recently came back to the bay after 13 years and the food at Taki is still as good as I remember if not better. Can't go wrong with any of the food but crazy roll and a large Sapporo is my go to and still hits 🤘
We ordered sushi and sashimi. It was fresh and tasty. Daikon was a bit bitter so we did not finish it. The soft shell crab was cooked perfectly. I was not a fan of the hamachi.
Taki is one of a very few Sushi/Japanese restaurants in the Novato area. I like going here because it is a little different than Tri but has similar great qualities at the same time.
This place has a very nice ambiance with the front area housing a beautiful Koi pond that will keep you and your little ones (or old ones) entertained if you have to wait for a seat.
This place can get a little busy during peak hours so just keep that in mind
From a seating perspective, the tables that are partitioned off so that you can enjoy your dinner with your company. There is also a nice traditional seating area as well as a sushi bar. On nice afternoons I love sitting outside with my family so they have something for everyone.
The real reason this place is great though is the food. They have a nice selection of rolls and other items that will have something for everyone. I particularly like their special rolls and had almost all of them. My children love the Udon so everytime we go we get at least 1 order of that.
Whenever you're not feeling 100%, give that a shot. Guarantee you'll feel a lot better. Just get it door dashed or ask a significant other to pick it up haha.
One special note that I would like to add is that they have an interesting beer that I never had or seen before. It's called Kawaba Sunrise Ale and it is Delicious!!!
I would come back just for that!
Great food service and ambience!
Delicious food and great service!
Best sushi and apps around! We love the sweet potato tempura roll, and sesame chicken appetizer. Great prices and beautiful atmosphere.
We love this place primarily for their world-class BBQ eel (unagi) nigiri. Other positives their price is very reasonable and they have a few fun and delicious rolls. I'd recommend going on a Tuesday for the best fish quality. We just had some salmon nigiri that was off the charts!
Bonus: they also do unagi don box lunches which include a *massive* amount of BBQ eel with rice, pickled daikon, cabbage and a slice of tomato. Healthy and delicious.
Great place! Sushi is fresh and delicious. Ordered crazy roll and Rainbow roll, crazy roll was okay but the rainbow roll was amazing! Highly recommend this place.
We had debated going here for the past 2 years since we moved to Novato and just didn't. Finally, I tried it out, and I am sad we didn't try it sooner. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Prices are also very reasonable, especially when you consider the location. Definitely plan on going back!
I absolutely love this place! Best sushi in Marin!
Excellent location for sushi with great service, (despite the fact that they were busy) reasonable prices with big portions. Just my kind of sushi place!
Been going here for years and happy they survived the pandemic! Always great quality and variety. Have never had bad service there. I find the environment there simple, yet, calming and authentic. Sushi bar and little fountain with koi fish as a perk. Not the cheapest, but not overly priced, worth it though. Always go there, as a tradition, when out of town family members come 😊❤
First time... very pleased.
I have mobility issues which require use of scooter...
Staff was very accommodating and I was immediately comfortable with moving around restaurant to table.
Service was exemplary and never unavailable.
It will be on my list of preferred eating out choices...
Sushi is not cheap, but it is excellent.
Combination lunch is nice to try various things.
I have had excellent experiences both times I've dined here. Prompt and attentive service, fresh and delicious food, and they have a large relaxing patio to sit in on a nice day. Definitely check it out if you are in the area.
Absolutely the best sushi in Novato! Very good quality. They give you an authentic Japanese experience. We were very impressed with their customer service. Highly recommend the crazy roll. Miso soup and cabbage salad are both the best we ever tried compared to other sushi restaurants. Also, prices are not over priced.
