Hilltop 1892

Went to the Hilltop for a special Birthday celebration, service was excellent all the guests loved the food they choose. I had the pork chop dinner, it was over the top delicious. Mario (manage) treated us like we were special! Server was outstanding. This is our go to restaurant for special occasions and of course for lunch. Thanks Hilltop staff for making our special evening GREAT!

Awesome place for a lunch or nice dinner with the wife or professional get together! Truly a great place. Food is eclectic and delicious. Staff is five-star. Prices are surprisingly moderate. And the style, atmosphere and VIEWS are amazing. I can't say enough good stuff about Hilltop restaurant. If you're nearby this is a great place to check out

The Hostess (Emily) was very immature & unprofessional, and did not know any of the answers to my questions. She was unfamiliar with the menu, and did not know if there was one on the Website. We were looking for shellfish, seafood and/or "Surf and Turf" and she did not know what that was (?) and she laughed uncontrollably when I gave my name for the reservation, for 6. (Which is the same as a pop icon) This is very concerning because if I was in fact the famous person the restaurant- would if lost a significant visitor. I spoke with the "manager" and suggested additional customer service training and addition education on the menu. Your hostess is your first point of contact and represents your business- which could make or break your business. The food was excellent, the server was very knowledgeable, polite, and personable.The view is always appreciated and never a disappointment. The aged steak was impeccable and worth every savory tender bite, cooked to perfection. (M) (My teenage son ordered a Kobe beef burger (medium) and it screamed when he cut into it (lol). He was too embarrassed to send it back (his fault). I noted this for parents to check their kids food to avoid eating rare meat.) My daughter had the linguini with mussels and clams, yummy!! I had the delicious beet, goat cheese, and candied walnut salad, and chicken and vegetable soup, which warmed my soul. The signature cocktails are on point, the wine list terrific selection and desserts have a beautiful presentation- unfortunately I was too full to try. The prices are very affordable for the ambiance, service, and over all fine dining experience. I formally owned a large fine dining steakhouse (19 employees)and was very impressed- which isn't an easy thing to do. We will be back ❤

Interesting variety of food, including Kobe beef and lamb, all of it cooked wonderfully. Haven't been disappointed with any of the dishes so far. Great side room with a long table seating around 20 with a great view down on the area. I've had 2 work parties there with great reviews from the attendees.

We were two guys visiting from England. We found Hilltop 1892 while staying in Novato. The views at the top of the hill from the restaurant were great. It was Mother's Day in the US, which we were unaware of. Despite not booking, we were able to get a table without any problems. We were served by Kerry, and she was superb. The food was very good and the experience was a good one. Recommended.
