I had the pleasure of discovering Sakura Japanese restaurant, and at first glance, I genuinely believed the place was closed, as its exterior suggested otherwise. However, stepping inside, I was pleasantly surprised by its wonderful interiors. This marked my first experience with Japanese cuisine, and the overall ambiance added to the allure of the place.
The food surpassed my expectations, delivering an excellent culinary experience. From the flavors to the presentation, each dish showcased the authenticity of Japanese cuisine. Equally impressive was the host, contributing to the overall positive impression of the establishment. Sakura not only introduced me to Japanese culinary delights but also left me with a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.
Food is absolutely delicious, service excellent, well worth the money - good amounts of food too and given very quickly. Well recommend and would go again.
I enjoyed my experience here and the staff member who served me was very nice. Most of the items on the sushi menu are items that actually exist in Japan. The only reason I gave 4 stars for food is because there are some items that do not exist in Japan and the rice they use is not Japanese rice (such as koshihikari). Unlike another particular Japanese restaurant, the music playing in the background was japanese music and not Chinese. Also unlike another particular Japanese restaurant: the sushi menu has Japanese writing and not Chinese and the chopsticks used are the correct length (Japanese and Chinese chopsticks are different lengths : Japanese chopsticks are generally shorter than Chinese). The only big problem I would have is that the restaurant is not open until 5 pm so you can't go for lunch.

Hidden gem in Northampton, very good Japanese food with very fresh sashimi and sushi, the takoyaki were fresh and were crispy and soft as well and the teppanyaki was very delicious as well with the chef cooking in front of us! Waiters were very attentive towards customers and were very happy and cheerful. The songs played in the restaurant were j-pop and j rock songs which we happy with as thats what we listen to, overall the outside doesnt look like much but definitely should try restaurant if you are in the area!
Kids loved it, we got a Groupon which made it affordable for us. Food (apart from the ice cream) and service were good. Plenty of parking.

My husband and I went to Sakura for an teppanyaki experience (Groupon voucher).
The restaurant has ample parking space, but don't let the outside of the restaurant fool you, the decor inside was nice and the food was terrific!
We went on Sunday, in the evening and the restaurant was quiet. We had a very warm welcome.
The chef was very entertaining and kind. We ordered salmon and beef teppanyaki, everything was cooked to perfection, the beef was very tender, the egg fried rice and stirred fried veg were very tasty!
We ordered a platter of mixed sashimi also, and it was beautiful! We wanted to order more things but it was a shame that our belly couldn't take anymore food.
Everything was great from start to finish. We will definitely go there again, the next time we are in Northampton.
First time trying this place last night for a evening meal; very hospitable staff. Really enjoyed watching the hibachi chef, was very mesmerizing! Overall good food, it was a weekday night so very quiet during off-peak .
Really great, enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. The staff are also very friendly and very polite.

The food was delicious!! (tried lobster for the first time 👌🏾 ) The host was friendly and helped with the menu there was so much to choose 👍🏾. The restaurant itself was nice the and music was cool some of it I recognised from anime ☺ . I'd deffo go again 😁😁

Staff were very friendly and food was great. One of the best miso soups I've had in the UK. Even though it was towards the end of the evening all the staff were smiling and full of energy.
