Review New Deshi Village Halal Restaurant - Norristown

Finally got around to trying the New Deshi Village restaurant in Eagleville and the food was pretty good! We ordered the lamb biryani, the meat chaat, and tandoori chicken and Malai chicken. The staff was friendly and the prices were reasonable, including catering prices. Service was little slow since they had a lot of catering orders that day. Overall, would recommend!

Ordered takeout a couple times and always had delicious food. Fresh, flavorful, and good portions sizes. They can accommodate food allergies and make many dishes allergy friendly (curry and saag with no dairy/milk.) Staff super friendly and inviting. Would recommend.

Well, I placed an order for almost $100 about 1 hr 20 min ago and its still not ready. I tried you but this is the first and last. I ordered from almost all indian restaurants this is the worst service. When I call they say, well we are busy. Then don't accept orders my friend, if you cannot handle it in a timely manner. Edit after meal: wouvv I was wrong, I thought I couldnt get anymore upset but the food is at the bottom of quality spectrum. I purchased 3 meals and appetizers, i couldnt drink tomato soup, chat was mushy and disgusting, goat was almost completely bone. Bainghan bartha was sweet, where is the spice??? Mango lassi was tasteless , full of ice and in a meal box, not in a beverage cup. The worst indian food I have ever had in my life. And you put halal in your name to exploit muslims. I threw away almost all the food. Now I need to go and cook something.

We loved there food no doubt! Very good customer service as well. The price is also very affordable. If you’re looking for authentic Bangladeshi or Indian food then you should give them a try.

In my opinion few restaurants deserve one star ratings. Everyone has different expectations and we all make mistakes. That said, I would discourage anyone from patronizing New Deshi. After unpacking my first order I realized chickpeas had been substituted for chicken. I called and. was initially directed to contact Grubhub for a refund. Then, they immediately called back to offer compensation on my next visit. Specially, an individual named Hassan asked me to order directly from them, mention what happened, and he’d throw something extra in the order to encourage me to return. I agreed to try again. The next week I placed my order through them and left a note addressed to Hassan. I know it was received because my note is on the printed receipt stapled to my bag. However, no compensation or further apology was offered, and my order took over an hour to prepare without communication. I can’t help but feel like their attempt to compensate for their mistake was with a hope I would forget. Well, I didn’t. Mistakes happen, but dishonesty or (best case) not reading receipts aren’t conducive to driving repeat business. Alright, one more shot. I ordered and picked up. Two items were completely missing, no one said anything to me about it, and they actually insisted the samosas I didn’t order were compensation. The problem is I was still paying for items they didn’t give me. The employee blamed DoorDash for not allowing them to contact customers. When I told him I’ve had issues through GrubHub, DoorDash, and their own site he smiled and suggested a request a refund. Note; food quality is very mediocre. The special biryani and chicken saag were nicely spiced and reasonable portions. However, the veggie biryani was full of frozen peas, carrots, etc with ghee molded to the bottom of the container. The okra was also drenched in oil. There are too many superior options in this area to ever order from New Deshi. You can easily find an alternative that actually cares about the food and people they serve.

One star for the servers service and honesty. Brought some NY friends here to try a Indian meal. Horrible experience. They don’t have menu for eat in. Gave me take out menu to look at and order. Menu has dosa in it but when we tried to order they said it’s not available. Samosa chat was good. But the chicken biryani was horrible. It wasn’t cooked properly. We ordered garlic naan but then we hear they don’t have garlic in the restaurant and the owner went out to buy garlic lol. We had plain naan instead. And to make the matter worse the card machine was not functioning and he said he had to do manually. Obviously we did not pay any tips. Horrible experience
