Review Black Horse Tavern - Norristown

Wanted to try this place out and passed it a few times. Finally went in and the atmosphere was relaxed. We sat down at the table and someone asked for our drink order and gave us menus. She came back with drinks and then just never came back. We waited 20, 25, then we left after 30 minutes. I understand that there might be a staffing shortage so we gave the benefit of the doubt. On our way out we mentioned that we sat there for 30 minutes and she didn't come back. It sucks because they are so close but it wasn't meant to be

Great atmosphere, right next to the creek so your can look out and enjoy the ducks in the water. The food is pretty good too.

I moved into the area about a year ago. I used to go to the one in black horse after a long night at work. Was disappointed that they're no longer open in the evening due to short staff which I do understand because I'm in the restaurant business myself. So I figured I'd check out the one in eagleville "Germantown Pike " I've been there twice so far. Service is excellent. Only little drawback. There were a lot of flies in the bar area!! I had a few drinks and a few appetizers which were very good. As person that's in the industry of the restaurant and hospitality I know it's a hard thing to control. But other than that. I love the atmosphere it's a lot brighter than the one in black horse.

Went here today to check it out and was shocked with the design and attitude of the employee. I'm in a wheelchair and when we went in all we saw were tall tables, that's right not even one, low table. All they have are tall tables and the bar. I'm sure I'm not the only one in the world that can't use high tables. When we asked the the employee if the had any low tables she said a very dismissive "No". Not, I'm sorry we don't have any. The message was clear, "We really don't want to serve your kind." I would ask you not to take your business to an establishment that has such low regard for their customers.

Bartender was really nice to us..good service. The food on the other hand wasn't so good. The nachos were just chips with cheese sauce, some tomatoes, sour cream on the side, and a little bowl of chili in the middle of the plate. Its almost like the nachos you get at 7-11, just on a plate. I think 7-11's chili out of the machine is better though šŸ˜... had 10 wings for 16 dollars, and a Reuben. I think the eagleville tavern is a much better spot for atmosphere, food, and drinks..

The bar is freshly renovated and looks really good. The food is solid bar food same as the other locations. Currently cash only which is the only downside. Hopefully that changes soon. Update: still cash only. Bummer.

Seven went for lunch, the food was great! The service was less than stellar! The bartender yelled from the bar what are you drinking? Then it was too much for her to walk over and take our order, I had to get a pen and paper and write our order down and give it to her. Iā€™d you have tables and are going to serve lunch then maybe it would be nice if you have table service. Tip her for drinks and myself for food? Hmmmmmm
