Steak 'n Shake

Clean, bright, happy place that has excellent burgers and milkshakes. It seems to take a little while to get your food because they're making everything when you order - no burgers under heat lamps or shakes sitting in machines. And yeah, it's a cliche but it's worth the wait. My favorite part is the menu - on a happy sign right above the counter. Enough choices to give some great options, but not so many you forget the first ones after reading the list.

Food is good don’t get me wrong. But, every time I come here they always mess up my order. I SPECIFICALLY tell them EXACTLY what I DONT want on my burger and they always seem to put that stuff on it. It’s quite simple to follow directions. I mean I get we all make mistakes but every single time is a little much. Then as we are eating all of the staff are practically standing around and in the back (and I’m assuming the manager on duty) yelled “INCOMING” as she saw a couple walking towards the door. Loud enough so everyone could here. Maybe if the staff wasn’t just walking around and sitting in the back they would know when a customer was coming in. Lastly we ordered two milkshakes, 1 was peanut butter and 1 was chocolate. The same lady made both. She finishes the last one and hands them to us and says “yeah I’m not sure which one is which” so now we have to be the ones to figure this out?! Again, the food is great but I don’t see this place lasting long. They are never really busy and I wouldn’t say the staff is all that great either. I would rather go across the street to Burger King.

I believe they might be out of Business as of Aug 1 2019 First, I believe this place is a bit shady. The first thing they ask you if you are paying by cash or a credit card. Seems kind of weird. Why does it matter? We have been there a few times. Food is not so bad for the prices. Stay with the basic burger and fries for $3.99 and you get what you pay for. Everything is made fresh I can tell that. I love their french fries. Also, the food is always hot. The service is so-so. It really never seems busy and I am thinking it will not make it very long. They have a drive-thru even and nobody uses it. Also, they sell Hot Dogs but no Relish. Now come on. Just there again today 4-8-19 First time I ever saw a line in drive through. Again, the first thing asked was how I was going to pay. Why bother asking. It just upsets people..I asked for a hot dog with fries. Hot dog was good but bread was not so fresh. Fries were good. They tried to give my hot dog to the car in front of me who was waiting on a shake. They really do not look alike in anyway. Its a cheap place so who knows if it will stay around but I will keep updating this at least until my gift card is done.
