Review Kabuto Sushi, Hibachi & Lounge - Norristown

I came on my birthday to get drinks amd some appetizers. The scorpion bowl was great! We tried the sushi of the day and were pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere and quiet!

I ordered food from there and I am VERY pleased. Everything was very fresh!! I’m planning on going in person soon to see how the service goes. I’ll be back to update as soon as I do!!

I’ve placed several large sushi takeout orders from Kabuto over the past year. Their online ordering system conveniently enables you to order in advance for a slotted pickup time. For us, appreciate the food but service is mixed. The rolls are tasty, creative, and reasonably priced. That’s what keeps me coming back. Highly recommend any of their specialty rolls and their classic options, like the lasagna roll and ocean roll, are awesome. Also, the Oshizushi roll is a pressed style (on the app menu) which is rare to find. Unfortunately, they do not execute consistently. The first order I placed was missing an entire roll. Since then, twice I’ve been missing an item and they are always at least 15 minutes late. Last night my order was over 30 minutes late and they forgot my salad and duplicated one of the rolls instead of including the lasagna roll I ordered. I understand short staffing, but with 10 hours notice and a prepaid $200 order you’d think attention to detail would be better. Ultimately, I’ll be back to give Kabuto another shot but advice is check your takeout order thoroughly. Hopefully last night was just an off night and not an indication to lower expectations because I really do appreciate their sushi!

Went for sushi and hibachi. The chef was very funny and entertaining and the food was delicious. Will absolutely be back.

I had a terrible experience here. Called ahead and they said the last call was 8:30. I arrived 15 minutes early and they still were hesitant to seat us and we were only a 2 person party. Then I ordered a shrimp tempura yet they brought me out a vegetable tempura and the lady said I needed to be more specific when I placed my order. If two things have a similar name you’d think they’d ask to clarify which one you wanted instead of basically calling you stupid. Also they added a 17% tip although the menu said a tip would only be added if it was a party of 6 or more. I always tip very well, I even tipped the cook before the bill came, but I don’t like being bombarded with tips. That has to be illegal. And to top it off a bug crawled across the table while we were here! Wish I could upload the video but I will be reporting them to L&I Just horrendous!

Took my little sister for her birthday and we had a nice time! The chef was entertaining and the food was good 😋 I’m happy we picked this place because I went to other hibachis where the food wasn’t that great so I was a little nervous.

Birthday dinner for (2) grandchildren - 8 and 9 yr.olds. They have been there before and requested we go back again. We arrived early evening and it was quiet and we were seated right away. The table-side chef that we had was very nice and entertained our boys all thru dinner. The food was very good and plentiful, and we took home enough for a another meal. We will be returning again.

Overall it was okay. We are used to Benihana but wanted to try something new. The sauces they have here really ruined the quality of the food. The chef was very good at doing the hibachi tricks but we didn't really enjoy the food because of the flavor.
