This place is family run and has the best food in town. Each dish whether hot or cold is made with love and you feel like part of the family when you're there. It's amazing and we get it any chance we can.

Stopped in after seeing on DDD. There is a hot counter and a deli counter as well as shelves with grocery items. Couple coolers with bottled beverages and a Pepsi fountain. There were hot samples to try, lots of things on the menu board and the hot case and daily specials. There was a lot to choose from. Food tasted good, prices were decent. I'd like to take a little more time to study the menu next time.

My boyfriend and I made Rex our literal first stop on our first trip to Chicago. Took an Uber from the airport, luggage and all, because we had to know what the hype was about! Very glad we decided to do so. The family who runs the place is very friendly. I had read that the momma will hand out samples while you wait to order; I thought to myself there is no way she does this. If so, that would be great. However, who really has that level of hospitality nowadays? Especially after the past two years and knowing personally as someone who works in the food and beverage industry just how difficult things have been and continue to be. This industry is a labor of love; if you disagree you are spending too much time at chains and not enough time supporting local businesses. I am always grateful to support people who work hard every day to do what they love and to share it with others. I felt that here. The son spoke with us for a while and was genuine and kind. We shared some good belly laughs. He thanked us and asked to take our picture. It’s beautiful to me that even after being featured on tv, he was still amazed and seemingly honored that people literally get right off the plane and make it a point to support the business. Anyway, to the food, we got pasta & fazul soup, a side of hot giardiniera, a meatball sub (his), and a grilled chicken caprese panini (mine). I also got an extra side of the pesto Mayo, because that stuff was amazing. The goal was for us to share these items. I ended up eating most of the soup, and I did not really want to share my panini as it was delicious. Thank you for your hospitality as you were our first stop of the trip! I will send any I can your way, and I wish the best for you and yours

The food is extremely delicious . The atmosphere is like walking into a old style Italian deli. The employees are friendly and courteous. I will definitely patronize this location more often!!!!!

Went in yesterday at 6:30pm. A blonde lady and some man totally ignored us when we walked in even though they looked up at us. Not even a hi or anything! They were already putting their food away. I realize they close at 7pm but I didn't expect them to be wrapping up that soon. Any how, they could have at least acknowledged us and told us to maybe come back tomorrow. As someone in the customer service industry this left a very sour taste in my mouth. My family and I walked out and of course no one said bye. I was really excited to try this place too after reading all the reviews. However, we won't be back to try it.

Always delicious Italian food, friendly staff, a warm place to enjoy the cultural atmosphere. Haven't had any of the food disappoint, but my favorite by far is the cold octopus salad. YUM! Then top it off with a heavenly espresso and cookie...
