Manhattan Bagel

The owner of this Manhattan Bagel is just plain nasty and rude. I have been going here for a while and always felt the customer service was lacking and cold, but dealt with it. After todays experience I will never return. I arrived at 6:55 am and waited in my car until 7:00am for them to open. At 7am myself and another women exited our cars. I opened the door for us and as soon as I did so the gentleman owner yelled at me that they are not open and I need to read the sign outside. I closed the door and read the sign again which said 7 AM on Sundays. Bear in mind it was 9 degrees at this time. I reopened the door and said to the owner that the sign says 7 am. He screamed at me that he did not care what the sign says and that they will open when he wants to open as it is his store. I was so taken back and so was the other women. I have never been yelled at like that my any restaurant employee. As he continued to yell I told him if that is his attitude about his store then I will choose to get my bagel elsewhere. I returned to my car and as soon as I closed my door the owner turned the open sign on. I was going to just leave, but my 11 year old daughter begged to go in herself as she really wanted a bagel. I let her go in and when she came back she said the owner was talking bad about me to the other people in the store. He didn't realize it was my daughter who entered the store, not that I think he would have cared. I will never enter this establishment again. The owner has no idea how to treat customers and is simply on a power trip.

I have been going here for years and they are extremely consistent compared to most places. Good bagels and the staff remembers your orders. The owner is a hard worker and it seems like they have a hard time with staffing but I have always had a great experience here. They do sell out later in the morning so it’s better to come early. I highly recommend this particular store as I have had bad experiences at a few other Manhattan bagel locations

I wish I could give this owner and his business 0 stars. My child has a dairy allergy and I asked for his bagel to be cut with a different knife so it wouldn’t come into contact with butter or cheese. I was rudely refused and then the owner began to walk away and not even take the rest of my order. I’ll never be back here again. Adding, now that I read all of the other reviews - it sounds like this rude owner is consistently providing poor service.

They deliberately do not answer the phone. They ate rude, they run out of basic things like plan bagels, way to much. Over all awful, unsure how they are still In operation. You have to know someone in there to get food or have the phone answered. Everyone told me not to try this location. I see why now.
