Okoboji Grill

The hostess was a older lady and was extremely rude. She frowned the entire time and was clearly not happy to be there. Our server was great. He got our food out to us in a very timely manner. He made it a more pleasant experience. The food was fantastic. I got a frozen margarita and it was super thick with mostly ice though.

I had the worst service with my family today. Waited 15 min to get drinks. Had someone come to our table say they weren't our waitress then got our drinks. Another 15 -20 min passed we got our order taken by the same person that took our drinks. She wanted us to know AGAIN she was not our waitress. 1 hour 15 min later I stopped the hostess asking if we could just get our tickets for our drinks we were leaving. 5 min later another waitress said your food is coming. My steak and corn was ice cold. 10 min later a guy checks on us grabbing my sons drink to refill he never came back. The original lady who stated she was not our waitress gave us our $60ti cket and walks off. Disappointed. Waste of money. No discount no sorry nothing. This used to be a place we went once a week. Unbelievable customer service. Sorry to say I was completely disappointed.

After eating with our family we got our Bill's and there was a 18% gratuity slapped on to the bill! $30.00 extra pay from 3 families!! Had my husband not checked the bill our $30. dinner turned into over $40. more or less. After we all were fighting with the manager about it they finally took it off. Also they don't honor our Vets who were with us or a senior discount! We won't be going here again.

They don't deserve one star! It was awful service! Waited 45 min to get our food had to ask server to fill drinks whole time never were around! My husband's steak was tough as his shoe never asked to replace stupid! Plus one of the sides was a loaded baked potato put yet charged extra for each topping really! Then we had seven adults and one child and charge us gratuity really after your awful server you don't deserve $30 we said something and they said they only make $4 an hr really I don't think so bettet find a better job everyone else pays $15 an hr. Never going back there horrible place to eat!!!@

I pass by this location after work and always appears busy. So I figured I would stop in after work it was late, but the were kind enough to serve me. I placed my order to go, as I waited I looked around at the layout. It felt comfy, mind you I practically had the whole place to myself. They have plenty or room inside and out just don't eat outside during winter, there's plenty of snow. So if you haven't been here give them a try. Two thumbs up.

1st visit last week was awesome so stopped again tonight and that was clearly the wrong decision! Last week had a good hostess, an awesome waiter who was not old enough to bring drinks so even the bartender was amazing as she dropped off our drinks and chatted a bit. Today’s visit was completely ridiculous!! I highly recommend the older hostess step up and help the waitress as she appeared to be much slower. The hostess was more interested in sitting in the front booth reading her paper! Sad, mingle with your guests and help staff! There was a waiter who was running circles around the waitress. His tables were clearly tended to in a timely manner as a couple were seated after us yet served way before us. Finally received salads after a 20 minute wait after order was placed. Remember that couple that I said received their food yeah they had their food before we had our salads! And five minutes after our salads arrived the entrées showed up, clearly timing is an issue as the entrées were not very hot either. Don’t get me wrong it was at least warm and edible just disappointed that it wasn’t hot as we had not finished our salads yet. So basically wasted the salad to eat dinner. At no part during the entrée did anyone stop by and ask if everything was OK. And again the wonderful hostess only seats people and goes back to her booth, she could clearly have been checking on things. So eventually we did catch the hostess and asked the hostess for to go containers and a few seconds later the waitress comes back asking how things are so again we asked for to go containers and the check. Quickly left after paying and on the way out that fabulous hostess was then chatting with the waiter. All while sitting in her booth with her paper reading or playing games. Not one comment as we walked out. So what are you to do? Do you give the restaurant another chance or not? This was our experience and expectations. It’s your decision to try or try not!

Somehow did the slam dunk and got everything wrong on the take out order. Fish and chips without chips (we asked for the additional side salad with no cheese for 3.99, obviously with the chips as well, to which they then said the side salad was the side - but even got that wrong with the cheese). Got a vegetarian pasta - came with chicken, all of it went to the bin and they were completely unapologetic. When you get it wrong and we all go hungry no big deal, it happens - but own up to your mistakes and make things right . Go somewhere else where they are capable.
