Wonderful experience with takeout!! Very friendly owner and sushi chef, appreciated the care put into the food and how quick it was! Would love to dine in sometime, clean looking space, authentic fresh rolls, and welcoming feel. Will be back again soon!
The food is always exquisitely prepared and presented. Ito San is a true sushi master, and Jose does a wonderful job in the kitchen as well as serving. My family has been going there for nearly 30 years! Shogun is a West Newton gem.

Extremely authentic. Excellent spot. The owners were extremely kind, and you can tell everything is homemade. This place is miles above other Japanese restaurants in the area. We will be back.

Japanese food is one of my favorites cover 35 years ago. From many countries I've been to as well as here in US, this place is one of the top of my favorites. I feel like I was in Japan :) warm
Very authentic Japanese restaurant. We ordered sukiyaki and ebi fry and it was by far the best one.
Not the prettiest sushi you're going to get my any means but the quality is always there. Service is somewhat slow as the entire restaurant is essentially a three man operation. They've been open nearly 40 years.
