09.13.23 totally totally loved my experience here. It happened to be my first time.
The featured band was the Rabbi Blue Quartet. Rabbi Blue was incredible and so was the rest of his musicians. I checked YouTube videos afterwards and it's best to see the show to truly appreciate their performance. It so happened that it was the sax player's birthday so there were additional impromptu live performances from a few in the audience. What a night! It was so much fun because they were all great singers / musicians - Rabbi Blue is scheduled to be there again on Oct 11th so check it out if you see this post before then. Good line up of musicians, too.
The food we had was absolutely delicious. This is one of the best parts about making or enjoying time here.

We came for Side Pony. Been here twice now and I've been so very pleased each time! It's a small intimate setting, so every seat is a good one. Often, places like this tend lack good service, but I felt well taken care of here. Definitely a great place to hear good music!

Music draws you, but the food is better than most bars. You won't complain. One hint. If you order pulled pork, make sure to add pickles or a salad. The portions are big.
Last visit: Kirsten Edkins performed. Great.

Some of the best entertainment bands in the O.C. and dinner with exceptional service. A cozy and welcoming place to take a date or just enjoy an evening with good music. The staff are friendly and professional.

More like a hangout for college kids. No fuss minimalist type live club venue. Food is cajon themed but nothing to rave about. Could use more variety. Live acts are hit and miss although I see some named artists in the calendar lately. I suggest to repaint the indoors with brighter and vibrant colors to change that dark seemingly seedy atmosphere. It is worth a visit if you are looking for a live music fix.
UPDATE 12/11/22: The new indoor wall accent is giving the venue a more upscale look and feel to the place. Now I can say it is a more cozy place for date nights and entertaiment. I suggest to book more smooth jazz and pop artists in your calendar.
I also noticed more selections in the menu with a variety of options. Kudos to the management.

Went to see Tijuana Dogs Friday night. What a show!! Danced all night. The sound was amazing, they were amazing and everybody was so happy and friendly. The food was fantastic. I had the Jackshrimp. Very reasonably priced and OMG the flavor. Heaven in a dish! Ate way too much bread with it - but you only live once 😊

Is ours first time , Loved our server she constantly checked on us ( didn't get her name ) she really made us feels welcome ! Congrats to the owner that had an employee that stood by ...excellent service 👏, and food are really tasty I was really unexpected , loved the owner stepped in to handled the crowds from blocked the views from other customers Bravo BOSS 👏 , we are looking forward to come back ....

Awesome music! I like it! But I would say it's good for couples. Also I have noticed that it's great for people who are after the midage, I was the youngest customer there and I am 26 years old!
It's not an expensive place but it has a classy mood! And classy customers!
The service was great and the waitress was very helpful, it was my first experience with this restaurant!
They start the music on Friday's at 8PM.
After all, it was a good time and a great food.

Went to see Shine On: A Pink Floyd Experience. First time at Campus Jax. The venue is awesome, intimate, with great acoustics. And Shine On was quite fantastic, that is really what I think.
We had dinner there, the Jambalaya and Pulled Pork Sandwich both very good. The prices are reasonable. We had great seats.
I’m definitely becoming a regular.

Went there for the first time and the band Family Style had no business being as good n tight as they were but they brought it all tonight. Atmosphere was great . Has a positive vibe in the place .
I had the Italian sausage, ravioli dinner which was high end caliber how ever m wife has the chicken and choke and couldn't eat it for being too dry. .
All in all I would def come back here again.

Tiny bit loud with the music, but absolutely great food. This is a spin off of Jack Shrimp & it's still as good as we remember. They had a bit of staffing shortage but they were wonderful & we were not in any hurry.

felt sooooo good to finally enjoy live music again! 😷
they had a tent set up outside with a great cover band. they sang a bunch of feel good favorites and sounded great.
jax also has an amazing vegan peanut butter hummus dessert 🍨 the yummy dessert made it all worth it as they don’t really have a good selection of vegan meals. just your typical veggie burger and one quinoa dish.

Entertainment & food was a 4 to 5 star! As far for the cocktail pricing it was a 1 star! I ordered a 7/7 and I was charged $8 for my Seagrams & .50 cents for my Seven Up. My wife ordered Chopin Vodka priced at $11.00 and asked for it to be shakened and served straight up with a twist and was charged $11.50 plus an additional $3.00 to be served in a Martini glass, for a total of $14.50! UNBELIEVABLE! Luckily we didn't get charged for our tap water!

I have found a new favorite place to eat and dance to live music like Dr.
Bombay. The food is delicious and very fresh! It is clean and the staff is very attentive. I highly recommend it!

I love the jambalaya here so much that for months I never bothered to review the menu. Today I did and I ordered the chicken curry. Amazing! Very flavorful and not too spicy. Service was great and Jack, the owner, attentive as always. I have a new favorite dish! Yay! :)

The food is really good and the wait staff are very helpful. For a relaxing joint with good music, this place rules. No fight to park. No pretentious crap, but, upscale food. Owner was there and very gracious as well.

Went to Campus Jax last night with some friends. I forgot how great this place is..loved the music of Johnny Cochran and lots of colorful dancers and great food. I'll be back...more often from now on!

I had the complete privilege of celebrating my Music Birthday Bash January 7th at Campus JAX along with three other bands. Jack was completely ready with staff, and food. Every staff member was nice, and customer service oriented. They have an excellent Cajun/California menu and plant based options for my vegetarian tastes, as well as a variety of appetizers and hearty dishes like the Jambalaya. The sound man, Fabian, handled 4 bands in 4 hours, and all were different: acoustic to disco to hard rock. He was completely attentive. I can't say enough about his skill to deliver great sound and service. Many of my local Irvine, Costa Mesa, and Newport friends said the same thing, "I love this place". "I didn't know it was here". I didn't hear one negative comment. Thanks to all the staff for making our Birthday Bash a complete success.

A great place to eat, drink 🍸 I and wind down . Friday nights are the best . The live band totally makes you feel like dancing . You don’t have to be a good dancer just join the crowd and feel the beat , the feet do the rest .

Was an amazing experience! Tried to book a table 2 days prior to the packed event friday, couldn't, it was booked! Arrived to watch the band and w/in 2 minutes was approached by the owner out of the blue w/o provocation and indicated that a table was opening shortly, would u like it?? The rest is history, Great food, Great show, will definitely keep my eyes on the Campus Jax happenings!
