San Shi Go Newport - Newport Beach - Photo album

A great omakase experience. Chefs here tend to do more appetizer dishes before they start serving sushi, and to me, that is what makes this place different from Ohshima. Attentive service. They are willing to work with you on splitting up sake into multiple portions. Omakase is on the pricier side b
One of the most reasonably priced omakase options around town, although the price has increased since my first visit. Despite the change, considering the quality and variety of the food, it remains one of my top recommendations for omakase. There are two options available, and it's advisable to make
I wish i could give more than 5 stars! This place was so amazing that we went back the next night! We felt like family as they knew exactly who we were just walking past the restaurant during the day before our 2nd visit! The food is the BEST and the service is the BEST!! I have been to Michelin sta
Top notch sushi in a cozy atmosphere! The presentation was just as delightful as the flavors.
Love this restaurant and omasaka! Chef makoto is so good and made us very good omasaka.
A quaint sushi “bar” in Newport. They are very welcoming as all the staff greet you as you walk in. The short time I was sitting at the sushi bar...It was very apparent that this was a neighborhood restaurant that the locals love and frequent often. I’ve been a few sushi restaurants in my time and y
Best sushi I have ever had. It was art on a plate, and I am excited to go back, words could not describe how good it was. The service and food were perfect!
This place is off the hook. If in Balboa please visit. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Can't say enough about this place. A hidden gem.
Very good food and service here. Quality of everything from the table setting to the sushi that was prepared was top notch. We left there very content with our choice for dinner and will return.
I did the omakase which consisted of 6 courses + the dessert. Quality of the food here is absolutely great! Very fresh ingredients and its very obvious how each dish is made with care. The presentation of the food is nice too.
A little place tucked away in the balboa island. The sushi is super fresh and the chefs know what they are doing. They make good conversation while preparing your meal and it's a complete dining experience! Some places have great sushi, while others have great service, this place is the best of both
Had the omakase and it was phenomenal. Our waitress, Tina was attentive and amazing. Had our hot tea refilled multiple times. My fiance who usually does not order sushi thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The plum tofu was a great starter. Everything was pleasantly surprising. Could not have asked for a b
Went to nana san but the wait was too long so we decided to try this place and I am so glad that we did. Must order: agedashi tofu (this blew me away and it was only $3.50), bluefin tuna sushi (I've never had amazing tuna outside of Japan so this was a first), yellowtail sushi, salmon/salmon belly s
If you're in the area, check out the omakase here. I think Mokoto was our chef and he was super attentive and joked around with my friend and me. Service was great! You have to pay for parking unless you're lucky enough to find street parking. It's also close to the pier so its nice to walk around a
San Shi Go was a hidden gem I stubbled upon on a Wednesday evening. Reservations are required. I suggest booking a seat for the sushi bar for the best seat in the house! Go for the Omakase and let the chef take you on a sushi adventure.
Needless to say this is my all-time favorite place for celebration. During COVID, we couldn't come here but the moment dine in is available, we got a reservation for dinner. The sushi quality and presentation is not as elaborate but the quality is superb. Until next time...🤤
