It's a cozy restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The staff was very nice and friendly. Even the bread was delicious. Eating it with their homemade sauce was fantastic. The food was perfect.

The over all experience was great! The servers and the manager are very attentive! Came by multiple times to our table to see if we need anything if the meal was good. The food was delicious definitely made to order! The seafood was fresh and clean! The only thing we didn't like was the mixed drinks we ordered a Paloma and mojito and you can tell those are pre-made. But everything was delicious!! Would come again for the food!

Great Staf. Authentic food. Parking is actually not bad if you don’t mind driving a couple of turns.

Great place for lunch or dinner. Lots of sidewalk tables as well as seating in the restaurant. Staff here made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. Numerous staff frequently checked on us...great team/family approach. Fresh warm Bread served at table with delicious veggie spread. Veggie pizza was cooked to perfection and the Cheese Steak calzone was tasty with plenty of sauce on the side. The Sauteed Spinach appetizer had fresh garlic and was an awesome addition. Plentiful portions with enough for lunch tomorrow. They were preparing for a large wedding party in house with beautiful decorations...I think this place must be a local favorite...I know it's mine👍🍕🍝🥗👍

Our meal was perfect. Our server Miguel was very helpful and attentive. We had the lasagna, I HIGHLY recommend it. It's so juicy and tender. The fried calamari was also very delicious. We paired our meal with a Chianti which exceeded our expectations. 15/10.

This is a great little restaurant that is worth going out of your way to eat at. Staff is super friendly and very attentive. Comfortable atmosphere and nice decor. Fun to people-watch as people stroll by on Marine Ave. Food is excellent. I had an 8 inch sausage pizza, house salad, garlic bread, and my sister-in-law ate their seafood salad. Everything came out quick and was tasty. House Cabernet Sauvignon was good. If you happen to be on Balboa Island, definitely give this place a try.

We’ve been visiting Balboa Island for years and have always wanted to try Ciao. We finally decided to go for lunch and we’re so glad we did! Food and service were excellent. We ordered the penne alla vodka with chicken, lobster ravioli with tiger shrimp and an 8’ pepperoni pizza. Everything was delicious and fresh. We definitely look forward to returning again next time we’re on the island. Thank you Ciao for an amazing lunch!

This place was so good! We had just got off a boat ride and came down to walk around and get lunch. We walked up and down a few times and ended up here. Best decision we could have made! Mozzarella sticks were amazing. The raspberry salad was to die for and my husband loved his jambalaya pasta. Don't hesitate to go here just do it. So good

Excellent pasta. The vodka sauce is on par with the pink sauce of Mama D's. I highly recommend you get the gnocchi with vodka sauce, add sausage. The gnocchi is home made, light and fluffy. The sausage is nicely thinly sliced and flavorful. The meatball is not that great. By default they provide a good amount of sauce with all of their pastas. And all of their pastas are big enough to share. The Penne Vodka with shrimp is also good. The Penne Giovanni is good with a light fresh taste. The garlic bread looks amazing but is disappointingly flavorless. The complimentary focaccia bread with mayo based olive tapenade spread is amazing and way better than the garlic bread. The Caprese Salad is good but needs balsamic and salt. The Caesar salad is average. Nice cozy ambience. Nice full pour on the wine.

Excellent service! Friendly staff! Delicious food! Who could ask for anything more? The spaghetti 🍝 was so delicious! And the portion was so big, I had enough left over for my lunch at work for the next 2 days! Great experience! You should definitely go if you're in the area! 😋 》》UPDATE! 5/27/23《《 Ask for the Baked Ziti with sausage (picture)! It's SO GOOD! We had VERY good service tonight! Everyone was great!
