Review The Village Inn - Newport Beach

Just a cool 😎 place, me personally not a huge fan of the food… but ALOT of my friends like it… Pros - awesome location great staff good service. It’s a gathering place for a lot of locals. And they have a lot of fun activities especially around the holidays. I really like it. I just don’t go here a lot because I’m not a huge fan of the food. Lol. And I live on the peninsula, so mostly go to peninsula places, but it’s great Cons: Parking can be tough, the food is so so, I can get really crowded and annoying lol. That’s about it. Everything else is great.

I went here with some girlfriends for a fun lunch and loved my order! It was on the pricier side for sure! I was torn between a wedge salad and a two stack Turkey sandwich! I ended up getting the sandwich and it was delicious (like beyond incredible!!) The staff was friendly and the wait time wasn’t too bad!

This food is far from spectacular. So flavorful and amazing. The staff is the best the closest to to the best hospitality. The staff makes sure your taking care of. These drinks are totally amazing the moment I got half way into my glass and suddenly I couldn’t feel my toes. That moment I knew I was going to enjoy this place. The patio is stiunning and beautiful. The environment is so calm you could literally enjoy your best life right here if you could. Def coming back to enjoy more food their nachos, jalapeño poppers to the blackened salmon, fish and chips and also the prime rib so delicious my stomach is screaming out to come back and have some great food. If your in the area check them out

Years of visiting Balboa Island and my family and I always find ourselves coming back to The Village Inn. A fun atmosphere and special nights for trivia and bingo really set this place apart. It really brings out the community aspect of Balboa. The food has never disappointed me, from salads to fried chicken sandwiches. Make sure you order a cookie skillet to satisfy those sweet cravings before you go.

Typical bar and food. Boneless wings & Quesidilla only ok. Club Sandwich is solid. So manage your expectations as prices are steep too. Don't sit at back bar...it's the Bermuda Triangle for bartenders.

We enjoyed a nice lunch on the patio. Service was great. The hostess Megan made sure our beverages and food were good.

Food is nice. Great BBQ-Rips and Salmon. Awesome taste. Verry friendly service. But the toilet is a disaster. This is the reason for just 4 stars.

Lovely place had food twice. This was our last supper before heading back to the UK after the best two weeks

Excellent food, Billie our server was amazing, always on point making sure everyone in our party was taken care of. Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone considering dining here.

Superb place to eat. The food was fantastic and the server was excellent. Free refills on soft drinks and water given with the beer was a good touch. Would highly recommend if you are on Balboa Island.

Meet friends and have a drink and a burger. It's a busy place, but has plenty of seating, so share the tables with others coming in. If it's nice outside, sit on the patio.

This place is an institution. food is good service is great it's our main place to enjoy after our walks on the Island. Great mix of locals and tourists.

5 STAR EXPERIENCE. The Village Inn is by far the best food on Balboa Island! My girlfriend lives on Balboa Island so I have drove past it more times than I can count but have never actually tried it until a few days ago! I AM SO HAPPY I DID ... I had the pulled pork sandwich and my girlfriend got the clam chowder soup bowl, both were OUTSTANDING! Also the vibe of the restraint is fabulous, the servers go above and beyond to make you feel as comfortable as possible! At one point in our meal even the owner came to our table to ask how our meal was (something I would only expect at somewhere like Mastros or a high end steak house) ... Overall my girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend The Village Inn to anyone passing through Newport Beach!!

Great place to watch a game. Had breakfast here this weekend and caught some Sunday morning football and had a great time. The breakfast was very good, definitely lots to chose from. Couldn't turn down the bottomless mimosas, I guess they are served until around 3. After that beers are only $3 during the games. Not sure how we didn't know about this place sooner but it's easily one of the better places on the island, will be back for more.

Fun Place. Great Food. Very cool local restaurant on Balboa Island. Friendly atmosphere, really good food and live music every night of the week! Try the flank steak salad or the Ahi Poke!

Really tasty food!. Just moved to Costa Mesa and stumbled on this place while I was shopping on Balboa Island with one of my girlfriends. We stopped in for lunch and were sure happy we did. We shared an appetizer and both ordered a salad. The food was excellent, I have to say the portions here are pretty big and we weren't able to finish everything but still no complaints about the food. Overall we had a great time and imagine we'll stop in again sooner or later

Good food and great service. Been back here a couple times since going for my first time. The bar in here is huge and they have a lot of different drinks to chose from. Bartenders here are very friendly make great drinks!

Awesome Local Joint. The food here is some of the best you will find on the island, my favorite part about this place is the live music, which I believe they have amost every night of the week. After living in the area for a while, the food selection on Balboa Island has never been anything special, I don't know if this place got new owners or a new Chef or just changed their menu but the food quality has definitely been elevated.. There are a couple new items on the menu I don't recognize and they also have a bar menu now which is kinda cool. The food here is considerably better than what they used to offer, this place feels more like a restaurant now as opposed to feeling kinda of like the local bar.<br/><br/>I used to stop in here every now and then after work for a drink, I would avoid the food because it always seemed pretty average and a little greasy to me, but now I can't get enough of it. The steak salad is honestly one of the best salads I have ever had and something I would definitely recommend. If you find yourself on Balboa Island or the peninsula, this is surely one of the better dining options you will find, great for small and large groups and definitely a place with quality food and a fun atmosphere.

I definitely wouldn't make a special trip but if you're visiting Balboa Island anyway, stop in at The Village Inn for a drink and you just might catch the band. <br/>
