Galley Cafe - Newport Beach - Photo album

Utterly charming classic diner, owned by the same family since 1957. It's only open from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. p.m. serving up breakfast favorites and delicious lunch, and people line up to get a coveted seat, especially the locals! Don't worry about the wait, it won't be too long. Eddy's chili is
Saturday Breakfast at the Galley Cafe Newport Beach. Classic Neighborhood Corner Coffee Shop/Diner in every sense. This little diner happens to sit on the Marina though. If you like your classic diner food and a good cup of coffee shop coffee while rubbing elbows and having morning conversations wit
It was our first time to eat at this charming cafe located at a corner of a residential area overlooking the water with the view of small private boats that leads to Balboa Island. We were looking for a place that was open for an early breakfast and sure enough we were lucky to have discovered this
Probably one of the best breakfast meals I’ve had and yes I’m a simple eggs, bacon and hash brown guy but not all breakfast is equal.
I’ve lived in OC for 22 years, barely heard about this place about 3 months ago. Came here with my great friend who told me about it and it was a blast. Felt like a time capsule. I had a chocolate malt that was mind blowing and a cheeseburger with fries. Very nostalgic, crazy low prices, and friend
The galley is the cutest little breakfast place ever. With a beautiful view of the harbor, and the nice vinyl booths, it’s very nostalgic. And the food is exactly what you expect. Very delicious and reasonably priced. Be ready for a wait if you don’t get there early enough, and be sure if you want y
This place is a must if you’re in the area!! I had the double chili cheese dog for breakfast which was super un healthy but absolutely incredible! Great views too of the marina!!!
What an amazing Newport Beach little little gem! 💎 It only seats like 30 people! Great little 50's diner! John Wayne used to eat here all the time! If I could give them more that 5 stars I would! Best chili cheese omelet ever! The food is so amazing here. There is literally nothing bad on the menu.
Food was absolutely delicious. The staff was helpful and very friendly as we arrived late. Made us right at home and gave great suggestions. Chili and loaded fries were delicious. French toast sandwich was fantastic. This is really a must visit.
Top notch breakfast/lunch spot. Food is excellent and has the usual dinner type breakfast and a few sandwiches. Overlooks a boat marina and the service is excellent. Very small so there may be a wait, but it goes quickly. No name list, just wait in line.
Great breakfast! This is where the locals hang out. Authentic diner with actual functioning soda fountain. Great homemade country fried steak. Average biscuits and gravy. Great pancakes. Average French Toast. Nicely seared hash browns. Nicely seared corned beef hash. Eggs Benedict is average. Excell
Went there for breakfast today. Felt like I had traveled in time back to the 1950s! Super cute place, right on the harbor. Complete with a soda fountain and counter service with cheerful employees. I ordered a simple two-egg breakfast. The bacon was cooked perfectly, and the hash browns were nice an
Super friendly place that brings you back through time with a smiling staff and big portions of delicious cafe foods. We are here after a guided hike and yoga class on the beach. It was exactly the breakfast/brunch I was hoping for. Parking in the neighborhood was ample. The cafe is small and there
Wonderful breakfast loved the chili, tomato & onions and eggs and that grilled bread. 10 stars Eddie!
Nice little Cafe, good and unusually inexpensive food (for the location). However, be worn! if you are (like myself) not white and don't leave in the multy million dollars neighborhood, people will be looking at you and probably judge you. It made me uncomfortable.
This place is a hidden neighborhood gem. It’s a small diner type spot right near the water, at the end of a residential area. Prices are fair, the food is good, and the people are so friendly. They really treat people like family.
Very Good - authentic diner & food. Went for a late breakfast. Family had Meat Lovers and Chili Cheese Omelet, Sausage Gravy and biscuit. Really liked the Hash Browns. Hot Cakes are huge. Nice service and setting.
The chili cheese omelets are excellent and prepared consistently as I've visited this restaurant many times in previous years. The quality of the food never changes; which is something to look forward to each time I visit. The chili and cheese are mixed inside the omelet, which makes it memorable.
Awesome little original 50’s diner. Food was great and service was exceptional. Great little local vibe.
