I loved the decor and set up of this place; feels so tropical!
One of the best pina coladas I had and wonderful service. The food is good and the portions are generous.
Good drinks and fish. The drinks were great, my husband said his fish was excellent. The fish tacos were only so so, not blackened as described on the menu. But they were good to take them off our bill. Coconut shrimp, salads and soup were good as always.
Gustatory. Nice place for a family gathering to celebrate.
Some Tips. Have enjoyed dinner at Tommy Bahamas many times over the past few years. Service is friendly and the food is generally excellent. The interior decor feels like something straight out of the islands, but as a tip, request the beautifully landscaped patio for an even more laid back experience. On the appetizer menu the Tunk Poke is excellent are both of the soup offerings. The Crab Bisque is rich enough that a bowl portion is overkill but the Tortilla Soup deserves a large serving. Fish and meats are all well prepared but one of our favorites is the Lobster Cove Grilled Cheese sandwich which is also one of the least expensive entrees.

Tasty.. My last American meal before I had to hop on a plane to head back to Melbourne, Australia.
Best last meal I've had in a long time. My beef burger was so juicy and tender. The fries were fried to perfection although the juices of the beef made the fries quite soggy.
I had a taste of the beef salad too and the dressing was a little too sweet but overall, it went well with the beef (also tender).
Pineapple mojito was also tasty. Mint with rum is best.
Fun Wonderful restaurant. Varied menu. I LOVE the. LOBSTER GRILLED CHEESE with YTomato Soup.
Excellent Seafood. This restaurant has a great setting with excellent lighting and comfortable seating! Love the seafood -- the portions were just right and the meal was cooked perfectly. Wine is pricey so be careful ordering as you can easily spend over $50 a person with two glasses of wine. Yikes. But, well worth it for dinner and the live island music is great! Reminded me of St. Lucia. :)
Come hungry.... This place has more-than-filling servings of exotic, fusion entrees. Don't forget to sit outside among the tropical foliage; it's worth the suiting atmosphere.

Ten years ago, my wife and I celebrated our wedding dinner at Tommy Bahama Restaurant in Newport Beach, CA. Returning for our 10-year anniversary, we were eager to relive those cherished memories. The quality of food and service continues to impress, maintaining the high standards we remember. However, the recent renovation, while modern, has shifted away from the darker, woodsy ambiance we fell in love with. This new aesthetic, though elegant, lacks the cozy charm of the original decor we preferred. During our visit, we mentioned our special connection to the restaurant, hoping for a little extra acknowledgment of our milestone. While nothing special was done in this regard, the overall experience was still thoroughly enjoyable. Tommy Bahama remains a top choice for its culinary excellence and attentive service, even as we miss the old vibe that once made it unique to us.
I saw negative reviews, so we were hesitant to go, but generally love Tommy Bahamas' restaurants...so we took a chance. The food wasgreat as usual...I especially love the Thai shrimp/scallop dish. The asparagus was very well prepared. I can't forget the fresh hot bread! Our server was very attentive.
Great food! The filet mignon was so tender I was able to cut it with a butter knife! I'm not a big fish person, however the breaded halibut was very good as well as the asparagus. Mahi Mahi tacos and seabass was a hit too.
Our food was excellent. Service is slow, but I will go back again. Blackened fish tacos, miso salmon, and mahi-mahi dish were all delicious

This restaurant is conveniently located in an upscale shopping center by PCH close to Newports Fashion Island.
The restaurant is bright and airy, with light wood and a beautiful bar area. The seating booths reminded me a little of Ikea's cantina.
I was greeted at the door and asked if our party had arrived. The host told us no and offered we could take a seat at the bar area. While we walked towards the bar, I spotted our friends outside.
We were a group of 6 and shared some of our food. The Poke Appetizers on Taro were absolutely delicious, and so were the salsa , guacamole, and chips.
My main course was the poke Tacos, these were very bland. I added some of the bell pepper salsa and guacamole, and it upped the game.
The desserts were displayed very cute and tasted delicious. Our favorite was the cheese cake and the chocolate cake.
Cocktails were all very good.
The outdoor area was nice with natural shade from beautiful trees and a planted area with banana agaves.
Service was good and quick, I had to deduct one point due to our young Waiter taking plates with food on them from our table. He placed the napkin on top and then asked if we'd still want it.
Well... now, maybe not anymore.
We will come back for another round of cocktails and food since this might not happen anymore.
Always enjoy coming to Tommy Bahamas for the atmosphere and food. The service is good and the food is delicious, always consistent. Came here for Mother's Day. I like that there is no pre-fixe menu or a buffet. There is a Mother's Day Brunch menu and the regular menu that you can order from. It was a nice day to sit outdoors. We had a party of 6. I ordered the Creole Shrimp & Crab Pasta which was very good with a nice taste that added some spicy heat to the dish. We started with the Burata & Artichoke appetizer which tasty fresh with the various fresh vegetables. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon Tacos which he enjoyed. Nice flavors and plenty of food to fill you up. Others ordered the Filet & Lobster which was pricey but delicious. The Herb Crusted Mahi Mahi was a nice dish my brother ordered. Overall, the food was delicious and it is a nice restaurant for indoor and outdoor dining. Pleasant staff and very accommodating.

In the clothing store... Dave is AMAZING! Always greets me with a smile and is very helpful. Always going above and beyond the call of duty to help me. The entire staff at this place is amazing!

It was a pleasant night out and the food was good overall. Service was friendly but could have been more on top of things. Empty wine glasses are a bummer! Skip the Warm Goat Cheese appetizer and go with the Coconut Shrimp instead! We did enjoy our entrees of Thai Shrimp and Scallops and Crab Cakes. Pineapple Creme Brulee sounded so delightful but unfortunately it was cold and would have been better warm.
We had a very enjoyable lunch at Tommy Bahama's Restaurant. We sat at a high top table adjacent to the bar which was a very good location for our lunch. All of the doors were open and the temperature was perfect for a Fall day.
We ordered the Coconut Crusted Crab Cakes as a shareable appetizer and they were well made and properly cooked. Just enough crab meat and little filler.
Our main course was a tough decision because of all of the options to choose from. We selected the Filet Mignon Tacos (cooked medium) and they provided an excellent taste experience.
Service for us was spot on and the atmosphere was enjoyable.
We'll be back soon with the family.
