The food was good! However the wait may be a bit long as it is a small place which means that service is slow. However, we did get a small plate of chips for free due to the wait. It is a hidden gem and definitely more affordable than the nearby restaurants.

Pretty much the best fish tacos I've had. The hot sauce complimented it very well. Also the black bean tacos were very delicious as well. Our cashier was very friendly and the food came out super quick. Definitely recommend to everyone!
Overall good experience. Great flavors and very fresh. There’s also a good variety of salsas ranging from mild to hot. Very fast service as well. The food is made to order.

We have eaten here multiple times and enjoyed it each time. Our typical order is hard tacos, a chicken burrito, and out guilty pleasure, a side of fries. Besides the food being delicious, they have amazing salsas ranging from mild to extra hot. The staff is excellent and service quick.
This great Mexx location has the best food of all of them. There is not much seating to speak of. It's a very small place. They do a ton of takeout. Everything is good including the fajita chilada burrito which is loaded with your choice of meat and bell peppers and onions.

This place has great food, drinks, service, atmosphere and prices. Everything we got was delicious and really went above and beyond what I expected. The music was fun too and had me dancing while I ate. Definitely will go back to my new favorite Mexican restaurant on the peninsula

Can't go wrong with Great Mex. Long time customer here who has tried almost everything on the menu. My favorites include the healthy Mex burrito bowls and California burritos. Good breakfast too. Still the best Mexican food on the peninsula!
Great Mexican food. It's in the name. They offer a pretty standard menu and there's nothing wrong with that. Breakfast is solid too. 👌 I get great Mex every time I stop by the area so I'm kinda biased. Pretty solid atmosphere being in Newport Beach.

A family favorite for many years, and still produces some of our favorite tacos beach side.
We like eating in if we can get a table, but doing a takeout run for a large crowd at home is also fun and quick.

We vacationed in Laguna beach but had whale/dolphin watching plans in balboa, so for something good and hearty, we came here. They did not disappoint! The food was so filling and delicious we even drove out there twice more from Laguna just to eat and explore. The alcohol beverages are VERY POTENT.
