First time there today. Stopped in to have breakfast. Good coffee, good veggie omelet with special ordered ham in my omelet, good whole wheat toast (buttered) and the service was very good and friendly. I did not care too much for the way they prepared the home fries. IMO, they were cut too large to cook them on the griddle properly, although the potential for them being "great" was definately there. There were a lot of people there, but the waitresses kept up with the growing # of patrons. The place was not quite half occupied at 8:30am on a Sunday. Plenty of seating and various size tables. There were 8 State Troopers seated in the corner for breakfast. I don't believe there were any steps, as I remember it being the same level as the parking area. Plenty of parking available.

One of the only local breakfast spots and it was great! Fast service, food was yummy, and I appreciated the server’s honesty when we asked for the chocolate milk lol. The booth’s are small and uncomfortable for larger people but they did have tables.

Amazing American homestyle cooking and friendly staff that is always accommodating. Food is not only tasty, its also served at a great price. There is a reason Guilday's is filled with elderly locals: they are wise and have made it this far in life by making great decisions such as going to Guilday's for breakfast. Don't listen to some of these entitled Karens and people who like to live in their own head; this place is clean, friendly, and satisfying, all at a reasonable price.

This place was never an outstanding restaurant standards wise and most breakfast only places aren’t but it was certainly very decent to say the least in the past. I went in for breakfast today and the table I sat at had ants all over the place plus the waitress said they were short staffed which means they need to pay more money to attract more help (meal I ordered didn’t come in 25 mins so I walked out) also the ceilings are filthy and seems like they haven’t been cleaned in 2 years the parking is not regulated u just put your car wherever you want and the atmosphere seems very sad and uninviting

Had a great breakfast at a great price. I live in New Jersey but my daughter lives nearby. My son in law suggested this place. I'm glad he did!

This place is no frills. Food is good & plentiful & not expensive. If you're looking for white linen, keep looking. If you want a very good breakfast then this is the place.

This is my second visit to this restaurant. I was displeased the first time, but I read the reviews here and decided to give it another try. Pros: food is cheap. Cons: poor service, greasy food.

New Castle Best Pancakes - *Service subpar. Hands down the best pancakes I've had in New Castle County... the syrup is served HOT which totally delivers ... I hate hate hate hot pancakes served with a frozen pat of butter... Will recommend their breakfast a million times. The wait staff can be flippant, Love Sarina and another waitress whose name I can't recall... not real pleased with some others. Just move your seat to someone else's booth. *** Recent experience with takeout of pancakes, No butter and cold syrup thrown in the bag... it will be a loooooooonnnnnnng time b4 I patronize again, if ever... When I asked for my $ back, I learned the manager was there when I complained about the condiments... she never opened her mouth...

Decent Breakfast Food at Decent Prices. Guildays is a no-frills BREAKFAST ONLY family oriented restaurant located on Route 40 halfway between Bear, DE & Elkton, MD. Opens EARLY for breakfast (5:30am except 7am on Sundays). Inside you will find lots of old fashioned decor (wood panelings, wood tables, wood bar area, lattice structures, hanging plants). It is old fashioned, but clean. The food is homestyle cooking. Nothing fancy, just your basic breakfast items: eggs, omelets, waffles, pancakes, bagels, french toast, homefries, breakfast sandwiches & breakfast meats. They also offer up some southern style breakfasts like creamed chipped beef, sausage gravy & biscuits, corned beef hash, steak & eggs and SCRAPPLE.

We had the eggs, homefries, toast and a bacon/egg/cheese on a biscuit. Overall the food was decent homestyle cookin' like you might expect grandma to make. No Frills. The homefries are REAL chunks of potatoes and the jumbo eggs were cooked perfectly. The prices were decent for the amount of food. The service was SUPER FAST and friendly. Go for a nice relaxed country breakfast that feels like homecooked without all the mess of cleaning up your OWN kitchen!

TIP: Go early (before 11am) during the weekdays to take advantage of the Guilday's Breakfast Special that consists of 2 hotcakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, 2 sausage links and your choice of coffee, tea OR small soda for only $5.75. You can't beat that deal, but know that NO SUBSTITUTIONS are allowed.
