Review Skipjack - Newark

Nice place. The mojito I got was not very good, but the food was great with great service. Our waitress was awesome. A little pricey, but as long as you understand that going in, you'll be fine. Definitely would go back.

top three favorite restaurants in the Newark area. gourmet offerings throughout the menu. i just added them to the rotation and can't wait to return.

We came with our extended family and we’re sat and served almost immediately. Our server provided us with suggestions and took care of everyone quickly. The food also came out in a fairly reasonable amount of time given the size of our party (12 I think). The food was pretty good overall. I would definitely consider coming back. I’d probably try something different and adjust my scoring a bit higher as I got the sense there were better items on the menu

It's a nice place. Good atmosphere. The food was okay but not for the price. In addition to that my friend wanted a food item from the bar but we were told that since we were sitting in the restaurant section we couldn't get that food item. Not a great way to earn customers.

Great food!! Wonderful service! A real treat to go there. (Who could believe we could eat walleye in Delaware!)

Had the Crab Bisque and the Chicken Sandwich with fries. The crab bisque was excellently seasoned with good chunks of lump crab meat, and the chicken was breaded and fried with excellent tangy sauce, sharp cheese, and crispy bacon. The entire meal was filling and tasty

My group enjoyed their lunches: Buttermilk chicken sandwich- really good and Mahi Mahi (jerk seasoned) entree -excellent, crab cake entree was a little above average. Appetizers: Brussel sprouts-very good, Asian flank steak taco- very good! Don't take my word...try it yourself! Carly was excellent!

Food was good service was good but why do you have shrimp jambalaya as an appetizer than a main entrée? My friend didnt get a single shrimp in hers ,so i had 3 and i gave her 2. We both left still hungry, and went somewhere else. Dont think ill be coming back ,unless things change on your menu as far portions go !

Came in for Mother's day brunch and we waited an hour for the food. I ordered the mushroom ravioli which was over $14 and was disappointed when there were only 4 ravioli on the plate with nothing else on it. Was not worth it. The eggs benedict was good and the cheese board sampler was the best part of the meal.

My new favorite restaurant!! I’m vegetarian and it’s hard to find a place with good veggie options, but this place is the best! They can make almost anything on the menu Vegetarian. And they have the sweetest staff!

Went for lunch to pamper myself. Love the atmosphere and the waitress was excellent. I ordered the lobster bisque and the crab cakes. The bisque was kind of bland, with very little lobster and the lobster was over cooked. The crab cakes where outstanding, filled with delicious lump crab served over wild rice. Definitely going again, but not alone!

I recently had a private event at Skipjack's and I must say, it was an incredible experience! Kim, the event coordinator was amazing and so accommodating. Both she and Donnie were flexible on food choices and in helping plan the event. The food was nothing short of amazing and delicious, and our friends were raving about everything. The waitstaff bent over backwards to keep our guests happy and keep our drinks coming. I would highly recommend Skipjack's for private events. I can't rave about it enough!

Visited here from Baltimore on a Sunday. The atmosphere was wonderful! Several options, fine dining , pub or party room! We order crab cakes and crab cake sandwiches, both a which were very please with ! The presentation was very good and with a touch of lemon slice, the flavors enhanced beautifully !

I had the pleasure of eating at Skip Jack's on Sunday. It was absolutely fabulous. The food and service was great. I would recommend it if you live in the area. I live in Virginia and will visit again when I'm in the area. You won't be disappointed. Just Do It

Oh...my....goodness. What a gem of a restaurant full of culinary delight. Our tastebuds are still dancing. There are not enough superlatives to describe our experience. Highly recommend this gem. Staff was warm , friendly and most accommodating. Pricing is very fair and the food is "out of bounds". Was our first time here and will definitely not be our last.

Never had a bad meal. The Baramundi was outstanding. The one suggestion i have is they really need to have a regular strip or rib eye for rhe steak lover.

Was one of our favorite local spots but went there for lunch yesterday with a friend and we both were very disappointed. The seafood melt was so fishy that we couldn't eat it. Supposedly, it was made fresh that morning but certainly didn't taste like it. The manager insisted that their seafood melt is delicious but she had just gotten in. I hope she tried it after we left because that batch should have been trashed. She offered a free dessert but we declined. If she had taken the seafood melt off the bill and been slightly apologetic, we probably would give this place another try because we have enjoyed dining at Skipjacks in the past. We won't be back!

Always fantastic. Its hard to eat anything off the regular menu when the specials always sound so good. They absolutely kill it.

We eat here regularly and it is always excellent food, service, and drinks. It was Tuesday Date Night and it was prix fixe three course dinner for $45. Yes. For two!
