Deluxe Diner

The offerings may not be fancy, but for some delicious, big portioned breakfast, Deluxe Diner was legit! Give me some giant fluffy pancakes, eggs, a couple of sausage links, a couple of bacon strips, and you will have a happy camper the rest of the day. Add onto that a pineapple smoothie made with REAL pineapple and full food coma for that happy camper is right around the corner. Though I don't live in Newark, if I did, I would hit Deluxe Diner up on the regular for my morning fix + fuel.

I love this diner. My sister and I went one morning and the waitress spilled accidentally coffee on my sister and owner was extremely nice, took care of bill and he is such a wonderful person. Even though we had that bad experience we will always return ! Pancakes are delicious, fries are to die for just every plate I e never been disappointed. Will always return.

Stopped by recently. Waited very long for a service. Server finally came. It was her first day. What a disaster. It wasn’t her fault she was not trained at all, had no clue in food business. I ordered coffee I got decaf I was frustrated I just wanted coffee. I ordered over-well eggs and they were over-hard.

Disgusting is the first word that comes to mind. I haven't had food from here in about a year or two. Feels like the cooks are new or they gave up at the profession. My smoothie tasted like they used brown bananas and seeing as I was given the wrong smoothie, this was even more disrespectful(ordered strawberryand pineapple). To have such a revolting smoothie was stomach churning. The pasta (a simple chicken alfredo) was disturbingly bland, lifeless, a disappointment. This is a diner but from the pasta I've had from them in previous years (which was divine) the change is night and day. The chicken nachos were soggy, bland, gross. And last but not least, the wrap was mediocre and sub-par. I'll never eat from here again, depressingly so because I miss the old flavor and if this is anything to go by, whoever used to make the pancakes that tasted like my late grandfather's, is gone. If not, then they gone in spirit if anything. RIP heartbreaking

Four people went for lunch while visiting the art museum. It was only a 5 minute walk away. Fantastic food. We all loved our burgers, soup, French toast with Nutella and bananas. The place was full of customers so food you know was fresh. Good service friendly and relatively quick. It was packed so we didn't expect the food immediately. Overall great experience. Definitely going again when I'm in the atea
