Polleria Parrillada Hiros

We used to LOVE this place when we used to live in NJ and were frequent customers, even had our small wedding reception dinner there back in 2007. When we visited, this time around, the food still tasted great. We ordered 6 arroz chaufa de Pollo, 5 half chickens with fries, 1 half chicken with tostones, and several drinks to accompany for 11 of us. They accommodated us well in the back, and we all ate. When it was time to serve the last bit of rice , at the very bottom of the bowl that the kids were eating from, I found a single roach leg! 🤢 I brought it to the attention of our waitress and she assured me that it was a piece of seafood (marisco). I got upset, because both me and one of my cousins are highly allergic to shellfish. Meaning that it would have been cross contamination. Her tune changed when I made her aware of our allergies to seafood. Not a single apology was made, she just took it to the kitchen and disposed of it. They didn't even offer to discount the rice. I am so disgusted. I know it wasn't anything shellfish like she was claiming it was, because I ate from that rice bowl with my son, and didn't break out into hives. It was definitely a cockroach. We will not return.

Food is amazing & great quality meat! The rotisserie chicken is delicious perfectly seasoned and cooked good portion size. The Lomo steak is thick and very filling . The toastones are crispy and yummy. the maduros were not ripped not soft or sweet. But I won’t let that stop me from eating here! Best Peruvian food I’ve had no lie this place is worth trying!

This is one of the best food ever ! it is amazing flavor, and healthy choices. The food here is excellent! if you have not try their food, this are my favorite plates of food: Arroz chaufa de mariscos, lomo saltado, ceville mixto, tostones are out of this world, they are excellent, La entraña (skirt steak) is very tasty, get it medium term, and you will enjoy natural juices of the meat, their soup is great! especially the sustancia de pollo. Truly come and enjoy this delicious plates of food ! once you visit this place you will continue coming, i been visiting them for over 9 years now and never ever had a problem, the food is Great !
