Awesome place! Went for breakfast, the staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious! I had “Daddy’s Plate”, with two eggs, turkey bacon and sausage, home fries and the best cheesy grits I’ve ever had! The atmosphere was hip with graffiti art on the wall and a great music selection. I would absolutely recommend this place if you are ever in Newark!

Then wife and I went to Sugar Daddys for the first time yesterday and i must say after all the beautiful pictures on social media and reviews i read it did not disappoint not 1 bit! I didnt have much expectations just to see some good looking food but the taste was phenomenal. Service was quick and courteous and the music they were playing kept us in a happy place while we enjoyed our meal. I will most definitely be returning to try a few other things from the menu. Thankyou for the experience and see you guys again.
The food was amazing. I had the grits with salmon & shrimp, with mini waffles. The food was plated so nicely. A very warm feeling there. I will surely come again and definitely recommend this place to others.
Cozy, bright corner cafe with a relaxed vibe serving wonderful comfort food. I had the signature breakfast with eggs, grits, bacon, sausage and sweet potato biscuit. It was delicious, everything was made fresh with quality ingredients. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I was staying across the street at the Indigo and this nearby neighborhood spot is a gem. Looking forward to my next visit!

Fresh and delicious Vatos Locos Burger and mandarin chicken salad. The bread was nicely toasted and fresh, the burger was well cooked and the fries were also good as they added a nice touch with the salt and pepper. Will be ordering again soon! Looking forward to another great food experience! Thank you for blessing our city of Newark!

The food is perfectly seasoned! They have a nice variety of choices. I had the jerk chicken bbq wrap (amazing!). The decor is pretty cool and the restaurant is neat and clean with great service. Bring your family and friends!
I recommend Sugar Daddy's because when u walk n the door ur greeted with a warmth that feels like a much needed hug. The food is impeccable and u kno it was prepared with loving hands that enjoy what they do. The staff is accommodating and welcoming. They appreciate u being there. I've always been asked "How is everything?" and "Can I get u another XYZ or Would u like some more blasé blah?" And bigger than almost anything, it's super easy on my pockets. The food was absolutely amazing!!! I was pleasantly surprised. We had the salmon shrimp and grits with the chicken shrimp and waffles. It did not disappoint. Not in the best neighborhood and doesn't look the prettiest on the outside but I've been to places with great ambiance and mediocre food. This was NOT mediocre. Do yourself a favor and stop by if you're in the area....go hungry!
Nothing bad to say about this place! The food is excellent! My first time here, I ordered the salmon, rice and broccoli with a side of mac n cheese, and it was AMAZING!! You definitely will get your money worth eating here! Will always be a customer for life!
I have passed this place for months since I've learned of its location, and was super psyched to get a chance to try this food. The restaurant looks very aesthetically pleasing in my opinion, and it's very cozy, not too many people can be seated at once. I tried the jerk shrimp pasta and was ABSOLUTELY happy with what I received, it also came with a fresh, delicious salad. At first, i thought the prices were a bit expensive but as i saw with my dish, it would seem the portions here are trustworthy. Overall, I enjoyed my meal, and was given ample service and felt real welcome. PLEASE COME CHECK THIS SPOT OUT!
Not the greatest in terms of ambiance (at least on a Sunday night) but the food was extremely fresh and absolutely delicious - so if you're going in the am/early day or just grabbing takeout I'd highly recommend it 👌🏾
I got the SHRIMP+CHICKEN+WAFFLE. It was amazing, the restaurant can definitely use an update, but for how great the food tastes, sitting on old chairs and using old tables is worth it. I'll be back here again the next time I'm in Newark just try other items on the menu.
Hidden Gem in Newark. Wonderful chicken/shrimp on waffles. Everything was crisp and seasoned so well. I love the sauce they drizzled on the waffles and that they have a shrimp option. I know everyone is weary of Newark but take a stroll (or order delivery if you wanna stay in). My only thing is that it was a little dusty where we sat on the 2nd floor but the food is so good and different, it is something that can be overlooked.
I stumbled across this place while on a lunch break from jury duty. If you're in the same sitch, take advantage and take the 10 min walk to Sugar Daddy's. It's a little on the pricey side for lunch, but it's worth every penny. The salmon-and-shrimp and grits wouldn't be out of place at a slick soho spot. The decor is graffiti-chic, the place is clean and well-lit and everyone there is friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic. A tastebud-saving oasis in an otherwise depressing wasteland of food options.
