Review Iberia Peninsula Restaurant - Newark

Excellent service and very good food. We had dinner here on Tuesday evening based on the Google reviews. We had an excellent waiter and it’s a really cool location. They have several dining rooms and even an amusement park of some sort in the back. I thought the food was very good. The steak was cooked correctly and the rice/chips were interesting. My buddy said the short ribs were on point.

EXCELLENT experience! It was super crowded which is a sign it's pretty popular but definitely concerning during pandemic. Our surver was so sweet and attentive. The food was fresh and really tasty. Portions were huge as we got the Seafood for two. I recommend splitting the seafood for 2 I would certainly go back because of the service and food. Nice spot!

Loved this place!! This was a spontaneous and ohhh so delightful treat. We chose to celebrate a special bday dinner here after traveling nearly all of Ferry street. The aroma with draw you in from the street. Outdoor seating was truly lovely. A great ambiance at sunset. The service is definitely not short in any area. My waiter was very sweet & there for any needs. I thought it was cute that a chair was taken over as we were seated for my “pocketbook”. (Prices were unexpectedly reasonable for the date) Live Spanish toned entertainment covering the classic hits of the past. And the Portuguese/Spanish style food was outstanding-We had leftovers the day after!! Good for family, small parties and especially date-night. We will Definitely be back.

My daughter and son in law chose this restaurant to celebrate and enjoy my birthday dinner. Upon entering the parking lot allocated for the facility, we were approached and asked to pay $10.00 per vehicle and handed a parking slip. The attendant explained that we would be reimbursed inside of the restaurant. I assumed this was to ensure we actually patronized the restaurant, since other establishments were on the area as well. When we entered and asked for a table for eight ( my daughter contacted the restaurant in advance, and they didn’t require reservations) we were seated. My son later informed me he observed the workers s debating over whether to seat us in an area that had ample room or not. I let that pass. We ordered drinks ( no drink menu.. no prices) so they charged us whatever they wanted to. I let that pass. The food was extremely overpriced, bland and the wait service was horrible. Four of my family members ordered entrees that required individual sides per order. They tried to make them share two sides between the four of them. When the correct amount of sides were requested, the wait staff completed the request, and gathered together to talk about my family and jest. What they didn’t know was that we understood them! When finished dining, we requested a check as usual. The bill was $488.40 ( not bad), but again the wait staff gathered and stared at us to get our reaction to the amount of the bill! Totally unacceptable! I had to request that they stop staring and continue with their duties. We were not offered a desert menu, and we didn’t need one. We clearly understood we were not welcome there. As an African American multi racial family.. we were deeply disappointed, and very offended. My seventeen year old daughter said “ Mom, that is the first time I experienced prejudice.” It broke my heart. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The experience was one I pray my family soon forgets.

Great dinner and a very fair price! The paella was fantastic and the service was perfect! The sangria was great! Would go there again and again if I lived in the area.

Terrible Terrible Terrible!!!! $72 wasted. NEVER AGAIN!!!! The waitor and waitresses were wonderful. The patio seating was wonderful! THE FOOD WAS DISGUSTING. Lol! I'm thinking about calling Gordon Ramsey (Kitchen nightmares) We asked if they serve warm bread, because we received cold bread. The rice tasteless and room temperature, we asked for hot rice. They heated up the same rice. We can tell, because the entire plate was 🔥. 80% of the Mussels were closed 100% of the clams were tough as leather 90% Calamari was tougher than a fan belt on a car. The supposed fried pieces of fish were barely cooked, looking old. The Marina sauce was oily, tasted like it was straight out of the jar or can and pieces of Spinach in it. 1 stale Potato Chip in the midst. By the way, my husband was getting sick to his stomach and stop eating. I didn't have the energy to complain about our ENTIRE meal. There many people on the patio and I didn't want cause a scene, which was well deserved. We didn't want to spoil our entire evening , because of our SPOILED DINNER! Trust and Believe. We won't be back! We should've headed out to the 'The Fishery Keyport" in Keyport. We should've listened to our instincts.

After driving for almost five hours from Massachusetts to NJ we wanted to go to Titanic Restaurant before going to Ricardo Arjona’s concert. This restaurant is permanently closed. We drove around looking for a Portuguese restaurant. Some of them didn’t have a parking. We asked a guy on the street if he could recommend a Portuguese restaurant and he recommended Iberia. It has an ample parking but you have to pay $10.00.(Make sure to carry cash). We ordered shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. Shrimp were big and tasty. Our paella was delicious and the portion was more than enough for two people. It was loaded with shrimps, clams, mussels, scallops, chorizos , chicken and a good size lobster. The prize $36.00! I ordered a Sangría and it was absolutely delicious! The service was excellent! We would love to go back!

There's a stale wet smell as soon as you enter the restaurant but the 2,660+ reviews said the food is good so onwards we went. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back. We ordered the Parilha(???) For two which is a seafood combination, clamp linguini and a chicken thing. The seafood combo was ok, not great, not good... just mehh. It's ok, I'll eat it because we ordered it but wouldn't recommend. The linguini was too salty and the chicken was tasteless. Maybe there are other stuff on the menu that's good, but I'll never know because we will not be returning. Service was slow but all were kind.
