The sustainable seafood options are delicious and treated with utmost care and respect, in traditional edomae fashion, but with a modern, local twist.
I found myself impressed with the unique seafood options and did not miss the usual, less sustainable options typically served at other high quality sushi restaurants. With our oceans in danger, commitment to sustainability is not only valued but necessary.
The shari (rice) was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the small addition of red rice lees vinegar was a beautiful touch, and just the right temperature. All the neta ("toppings") were incredible - cleanly sliced, scored, aged, and/or marinated appropriately. Each nigiri was seasoned well, with the flavors bright and balanced.
One of the best nigiri omakase I've ever had. Cannot wait to return!! Thank you to Briana for the genuine, lovely service and Jeff for the interactive, excellent meal!
Absolutely an amazing experience. It is a small space. Seats 8. Extremely intimate and you feel involved in the creation. The chef Mike explained all the dishes as he plated them and Briana at the front of the house was just amazing with great knowledge of the wine and sake and attentive to the guests. This was the best two hours I ever spent at dinner. Glenn and I are starting a Mayanoki fund so we can go there regularly. Congratulations Briana and TJ!!!!! Oh did I also mention, the chef is gorgeous, great physique with cool tattoos!!!
