Luna Rossa Ristorante

Outstanding! Went here for a quiet date night, but could easily be a good spot to go with a few friends & get a big Italian dinner. The service is perfect. We got two pastas -- the short rib ravioli with black truffle cream sauce (holy smokes, so good!! one of the best ravioli's I've ever had) and the beef bolognese ragout, just what I was craving. We drank a good bottle of wine. We had the cannoli for dessert and it was scrumptious! The outdoor seating was great even on a rainy, cold night, because they have a solid wood covering. It's off the main streets, so it's quieter and more intimate :) Highly recommend, especially if you live in the neighborhood!

My favorite pasta dish here is the paccheri with sweet sausage and mushrooms. I also have throroughly enjoy the carbonara, and the calamari with fried shrimp and vegetables is always a great starter. You can't go wrong with any of the desserts either. There was a special once that was a ravioli dish with veal, sage, amaretto, and raisins that my mom is still raving about a year after having it. The only thing I haven't loved here was the riggatoni with eggplant, but only because the menu offers so many other choices that I happen to prefer. I have been here many times and I much prefer this restaurant to the crowded nightmare that is Elios around the corner. The owner here is extremely friendly as well, which is always a nice bonus. It's a long and narrow restaurant but it's very cozy and not at all claustrophobic inside. Great place to have a long lingering meal with friends.

This is one of the best restaurants in NYC if not the best. I give it top marks for service, food, ambiance and attention to details. Hectors is the best. He will make your event memorable 100% across the board. Thank you for making my son and wife’s wedding day magical during these difficult times. The Massetti and Wryn families!
