I am a longstanding fan of Cafe du Soleil. They have an extensive menu, and the food is good and well priced for the quality. No one should expect Michelin-star gastronomy, this is solid bistro cuisine, and they do that well. The happy hour is an exceptional value, and I don't know how they make money, but having to be at the (tight) bar does a pretty good job of rationing service, so either come early or be willing to stand. I particularly relish the fact that the staff here are willing to tolerate my terrible French. This is a place I bring my friends and family, and look forward to doing so for a long time to come!

Fantastic brunch! The benedictians eggs were just delicious. We also had some drinks and they were good. The ambience was great, with some lovely music, and the service was also fast and good. Will love to come back.

I really wanted to give this restaurant a higher rating. 3 is being completely fair.
We came with family over the holiday and dined in an outdoor heated bubble. We like those :)
The service was friendly, appetisers and cocktails were also lovely. We had the mussels, fries, French onion soup and the frisée avocado salad.
The problem with was everything else ordered was just so-so or inedible.
The biggest issue for me was my Boeuf Bourguignon. I was excited to have this but the beef was very tough! I actually sent it back expecting the chef to at least pick out some tender pieces. It was still tough. I just did not eat it.
Also, the Le Cassoulet Toulousain was basically just a big dish of white beans with a few pieces of meat. You really must love baked white beans to enjoy this dish.
The lamb leg however was Okei and the asparagus risotto was a true French risotto (meaning it has a little crunch to it) I do not personally mind that, however worth mentioning in case some people do not.
Again, appetisers and drinks were a big hit with myself and family! Would go just for that :)

Meh. Atmosphere is great. Food and drinks were ok. Nothing tasted seasoned really, my toast was a little burned and my espresso martini tasted different than normal. I feel like it's priced right. Quick and lovely service staff.

Nice atmosphere with French background music that is pleasant to hear.
For Sunday's brunch, they had on the menu hash browns that were tasty - I recommend them. Both the impossible burger and the french fries were just okay. But the chocolate mousse is special - I loved its taste and freshness.
I was impressed by the server's knowledge of the menu, which helped in avoiding the fettuccini, because it contained chicken stock. However, I was a bit disappointed that he didn't fill up my sparkling water nor did he ask if I was enjoying my meal.
I don't think I'll come back unless there are no other options.

Great place for drinks and food with people! Their happy hour deal is one of the best in the city if you can get a seat (it's only for those seated in the bar area.) Drinks, food, and staff are always amazing.I love coming here and swing by at least once a week now.

I have lived a couple of blocks away from Cafe Du Soleil for about four years, but just tried it out for the first time a few weeks ago. Wow! This is my new favorite brunch spot, hands down. My girlfriend and I have tried the hash brown combo, a couple of the benedictes, and the croque soleil. All were incredibly tasty, and the dishes have been consistent every time we've returned. I also really appreciate the quick, and friendly service, even when it's during peak hours. Dan, Alec, and Kelly have been especially great! Highly recommended!

The atmosphere was nice and clean with a crisp french vibe. Music was fitting. The mussels were amazing, get the one with bacon. The drinks were strong and the watermelon infused vodka is so good. Branzino is the best we have had in NYC. It comes whole just how we like it. The creamy spinach was my favorite. We would have given 5 stars but our waiter was not attentive at all. He took our order and we saw him an hour later only because we stopped him and accused him of ignoring. Other than that it was a pleasant experience

I love sitting in the open cafe during the summer chatting with my cousin who adores this place. We would order onion soup, endive salad, escargot, pate, and creme brûlée as dessert. The lunch prix fix menu is very reasonable. The waiters are friendly and casual.

Just in case if your passport is not updated it, no worries, can't fly to France- no problem take the M60 or the #1 train and don't 4 get 2 take the M104 too. Unbelievable delicious, frenchy hospitality, try it, you'll love it. I promise you!

Classic French fare, delicious food and warm ambiance. A slice of Paris in New York City! I love Max and Francois, they always make us feel special and welcome.

A really great uptown restaurant. Six of us dined on a variety of great French food. Trout, beef, French onion soup. Everything was very good.

No, you're not in a cafe in Paris, but judging by the food and the staff, you might as well be!
Warm friendly neighborhood restaurant with moulets et delicious French fries are delicious, and judging from the choices at other tables, extremely popular.
I am never disappointed in service, food and always look forward to experiencing a little bit of Paris right on 104th and Broadway.

Not for me. Excellent service, very authentic French surroundings, but a very forgettable Eggs Benedict. Tough muffin, and unattractive plate. Wouldn't go back

Great Place to Eat.. Excellent food - Excellent service. Our reservation through Urban Spoon was honored immediately. The host constantly made his way around the dining room to ensure diners were happy and taken care of. It reminded me of several restaurants and dining experiences we had while visiting Paris. Your meal is not rushed - and we were able to enjoy each course without being forced to push it aside for the next. Someone might view this as slow service - it's not. This is very European. Food is to be enjoyed - not gobbled down. The host was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Looking forward to going back soon.

Great Brunch. The brunch was delicious- the service was absolutely terrific! I highly recommend this place as a non-pretentious and better tasting alternative to other French places on the UWS (ahem- Le Monde).

Phone call. I went by what UrbanSpoon said (prix fixe dinner for 19.95 from 5pm to 10pm). When I called, the gentleman was very nice, but told me the prix fixe was from 5 to 7. Where was the disconnect??????)..... no French food for me tonight I guess....llll

Brunch was tasty yet a little pricy. I would do it again if I was in the area.

Once Excellent, Best to Skip It Now. Although Cafe Du Soleil was always very noisy with poor acoustics when if first opened the food and service were outstanding. Sadly, all you get now is the noise. And at top prices. This is really unfortunate because the neighborhood West of Amsterdam at least, lacks quality and variety in choices for eating out. But then, Amsterdam is not so far to walk come to think of it...

The lamb was perfectly cooked, nice and succulent while simulatenously flavorful. The artfully composed cobb salad contained a myriad of interesting ingredients that all commingled nicely.
