Very tasty. The place had lots of room for a late dinner. The food was great and the waiter pointed out some fun dishes to try to expand the usual set of options. They were all delicious.

HIGHLY Recommend ! !
You cannot get better Indian food than here anywhere in Manhattan. The portion sizes are good, the spices are very balanced and true value for money.
The staff is very courteous and considerate. Avinash is amazing...
The washrooms were spic and span. The atmosphere is nice and overall I'm coming back again for sure.

Excellent food for the price. Tried lunch for 15.95 fixed price. You get an appetizer, a choice of entrees, and an option for a bread.
Everything was great.
Highly recommended

Our newest discovery is this Indian place, which we passed by but never walked in until today!
Aahar offers lunch specials that are well proportioned, including freshly baked naans, and the real treat for me was the rosemary naan (never heard of it before).
Besides the lunch specials, we ordered chicken samosa and dal makhani - both were very delicious. I also loved the taste of the saag, one of the best I've ever had!
It's not too often that I enjoy a complete experience, where the food is so delicious, the service is hospitable, and the music in the background is calming and peaceful. Definitely worth repeating!

The chicken Tikka masala and garlic naan was amazing. The spices on the Tikka masala were perfect. The prices are pretty reasonable too. They also gave us free rice pudding for dessert which was a nice surprise!
They also have vegetarian options on their menu, though we didn't get anything vegetarian.

This is the second time I've been here because the amount of food you get for the price makes it worth it. It's decent food at an affordable price that will leave you feeling satisfied. The staff have been super friendly and attentive to my needs both times I have visited
I went for the pre-fix lunch special and got an order of Butter Chicken with aromatic basmati rice, Cocktail samosa (veggie), Garlic naan, and Mango Lassi for under $25.
Food:
Butter Chicken: I told the waiter to make it on the spicier side when I placed my order but I received the opposite. It was on the sweeter side which was okay but just a little disappointing. The butter chicken was flavorful and had a nice creamy mouth feel. I did find it to be more on the tomato-y side which overpowered the rest of the spices. The chicken wasn't dry and had great flavors. It was pretty decent but again I wish it had a little more heat to it. The basmati rice - although fragrant and tasty it could have been a bit softer with a little more moisture. 4.5/5
Garlic Naan: By far one of the best garlic naan I've tasted in a very long time. The dough was fully cooked through, super soft with crispy pockets, and the garlic was not too overpowering. 5/5
Cocktail Samosa: The exterior was light, crispy, and golden to perfection. The insides were stuffed with lightly seasoned potatoes and peas. The stuffing could have used more seasoning, although I did taste the cardamon a lot of the other spices didn't come through. What really saved this appetizer for me was the mint sauce (hari sauce), it was bright, fresh, and brought it all together. The tamarind sauce was too sweet for me and just sort of sat there. 4/5
Mango Lassi: This drink was sweet, sour, and extra thiccc. It was creamy and delicious, but it did take me at least 10 minutes to get it all down. Luckily I had a glass of water near by to help it go down with ease. 4/5
Service:
Very friendly staff that will check in on you once in a little while to make sure everything is to your liking.
Decor:
Dimly lit restaurant with a clean and cozy atmosphere. Plenty of space for large and small groups. The restrooms were cleaned and well maintained.
Overall I did enjoy my food, I left with a full belly and satisfied with my order. The prices are affordable for the area and the food is decent.
I'll def visit Aahar again!

Great hospitality and communication ethics.
Food is exactly as expected very typical North Indian taste.
They just need to serve onion Bhajiya a little hot.

We stopped here for lunch the restaurant was very busy lunch time. Service was quick the lamb seeks kebab was very average and tasted very meaty I didn't enjoy it. The veg samosa, shrimp curry and rice was tasty and we enjoyed it. Improve your lamb seeks kebab recipe.

I've had lunch on a few occasions at this restaurant and the food, service and atmosphere are always amazing. The staff pays attention to every detail. They'll ask you how you'd prefer the level of spiciness for your selected dish. The food is always fresh and flavorful.
Each visit is always a pleasant experience.

Aahar is, by far, the best Indian food restaurant we have eaten at, anywhere. The food was incredible, fresh, cooked to perfection, and tasted SO good. The service by Peter, and the other staff, was excellent and everyone was so friendly and considerate.
If you are ever in the area of Aahar in NYC, we strongly recommend that you give them a try. You will not be disappointed... and you will come back again and again. We will definitely be back again soon.

The inside is absolutely beautiful, only to be followed up with food that was absolutely delicious! Everything was rich in big and bold flavors. I had the lamb that was tender and to die for. Avinash was an amazing host and made me feel like I’m at home eating with friends I’ve known for years.
Truly can’t recommend Aahar enough, amazing food, amazing staff, a true all around unbelievably good time!

Avinash was amazing! The food was wonderful! Really great experience, will 100% come back again. They have different spicy limits so it caters to all which is awesome. They have a very large vegetarian menu as well. Fantastic all around.

This is just one of those hole-in-the-wall places that you just get lucky and FIND while out roaming the city. Service was teeny bit slow, however when the food is damn good, those things get pushed to the back of my mind. The SCALLOPS?! Yes please, I’ll take 70 more on the fly. The chicken was delicious, samosas were packed and fresh out of the fryer and the dipping sauces were incredible. Sooooo worth it! Authentic Indian flavors will always be top 5!

Wonderful way to end the night in Manhattan! The experience started even before the food was served, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and taken to the table, and right from the get-go they were so very caring and kind. Not only that, but they were also extremely intentional - paying attention to how one of us was vegetarian making suggestions based off that. All throughout the dining experience, they were very attentive (took my beer bottle away as soon as it was empty, etc).
I went ahead with the lamb chops as per recommendation and it was amazing, very well seasoned and the meat itself was of high quality. Personally, I eat a lot of lamb and I don’t think I’ve tasted anything like it before. My friend’s vegetarian dish was also very nice, and the butter roti was crispy and delicious. Portion size was pretty standard and I was very happy with the prices!
I usually don’t write reviews but this was the kind of experience that makes you go “man I NEED to write a review and tell people about this place.” Honestly felt like I was being served by family rather than strangers.

A fantastic downtown restaurant has lot of choices for South Asian dishes. The place feels just like a regular restaurant you'd expect. The staff there is really nice too!

My partner and I went to this place for lunch. The ambience was ok but the service was good. They have indian beers too. We ordered paneer tikka masala and garlic naan ( one of the best naans served) and for starters we ordered Dahi batata puri. Overall a good place to try out indian dishes, would recommend this place.

Desi buffets are notorious. When you get out, you feel like you are about to burst like bubblegum. Food content is very calorific and they don't limit your trips to the foodbar.
Aahar is great because it lets me hit my macros and gives me the opportunity to stay on course without overeating. They serve the buffet for you and it's one trip only. What a brilliant idea and it also maintains the integrity of the food and ensures mishaps don't occur.
Mind you, most desis eat with their fingers and I have seen people come with the same plate with the foodie fingers and go for rounds three and four, with absolute disregard for the fellow human being standing near. One time a dude came by with the same plate and his used fork studded with curry meat bits fell into the bowl of saag panneer..... he coolly took it back, said nothing and quietly went back to his seat after refilling food. Me, I stood there in disbelief. That day I resolved I would never eat at a desi buffet restaurant. That said - I was pleased to eat at Aahar and I like their style. Quality of food is great.
The gentleman lets me mix/match malai kabob and tandoori cubes, 2 each, one scoop of rice and a little bit of saag panneer. Very good protein lunch, with ample spinach and enough amount of carbs. That has been great for my daily macros without overeating, and food that hits close to home!
I took my mother when she visited the city and the patron said kind words to her and that goes high up in my books. This is my regular hangout, I eat lunch here a lot.
Tips for other eaters:
Try the masala chai. It is fantastic.
Don't forget to try the navaratna korma.

Pleasantly surprised, we went here for a quick lunch and received a three course meal for $14.99, food was great, definitely recommending this place, and will be coming back for more. Keep up the good work!
