Hakubai - New York City - Photo album

What a gem. Some sushi places in this area are too 'trendy', i.e busy and noisy. Hakobai is very relaxed, service is amazing and sushi is the best I had in New York. Prices are a bit high, especially for drinks, but the value is very good.
Great high end Japanese foods and service. Great restaurant for private business dinner if you like Japanese cuisines.
Great omakase value! Nice and quiet setting. Loved it!
This Japanese restaurant is my favorite for kaiseki in New York City. The service here is fantastic and the food is to die for. It may have been awhile since I last ate here. It has probably been over 5 years ago. However the food, service presentation are still fresh in my mind that I will never fo
It’s really authentic Japanese kaiseki with perfect portions. For the same quality of food & service will be about double price in Japan. We enjoy every single dish & the traditional dessert is perfect!
The atmosphere is so peaceful, and the service so good. I went with a group for lunch as a vegetarian (not pescatarian). Their menu is relatively small, so it seemed like it would be harder to get away with, but they made me off-menu vegetable tempura, which was the best I had ever had. The real st
Best place if you're craving some Japanese food. They served authentic and tasty Japanese food! I always come here whenever I crave for some sushi. Great staff, clean place. Thumbs up!
Food is great, and the Japanese atmosphere is just right, we enjoyed it all. Their uni is so delicious and creamy that it has amazing sweet after-taste! Will def come back a couple of times a year.
This is one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in NY and is located in the basement of a Japanese hotel chain. We had the full Kaiseki dinner through an amazing 56% discount offer from Travelzoo which made it more affordable. I have been in Japan multiple times and this is among the best Jap
I had the Okonomi Sushi Kaiseki, which was a perfectly-sized almost traditional kaiseki, lacking only a gohan dish at the end. I'll come back to try the Omakase Kaiseki, which requires a day's advance warning. I cannot praise the service enough; they were great about answering my many questions.
It's been while since my last visit. The food portion is ...... more than enough. A little heads up for likeminded who is curious about their kaiseki menu: you have to make a reservation at least day before, and specify that you want kaiseki so they can prepare for you.
The Hakubai is one of the best Japanese restaurant, and is in The Kitano Hotel. They have a few private rooms, Tatami, Zashiki. The foods are good, and I recommend "Omakase Kaiseki" which we need to order when our reservation. Their service is good too.
I tried the dinner meal here. Everything is so delegate and fresh. I loved the steam eggs, fish ball and the espresso pudding. Not to mention the extreme excellent services.
Sushi, sushi, sushi. You'll find them here plus other exciting menus like katsudon. You don't have to wait too long. Their service is quick.
elegant 90s style surroundings. the service quality is hard to find nowadays in NY. food is comforting. Nothing to complain about.
My personal favorite real deal Japanese restaurant in New York City. Get the nabeyaki udon and some sushi
