It is a blast into the past with this fine diner. Great food, super quick service and friendly atmosphere. A great place to eat when you are pressed for time. Highly recommend this place.
My partner and I stayed at the Wyndham Newyorker Hotel which joins onto the Tick Tock Diner (13th feb - 17th feb 2018) and you can access the diner through the hotel too. The food was amazing! The choice was exquisite and the menu fun! The food was delicious! The service was fast and very good! Can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend
Lovely waiters great food decent portions made to feel very welcome even with the breakfast vouchers I used throughout my stay but did buy food too defo worth a visit was a bonus I was staying in the hotel above and the coffee was amazing x
Terrific food at reasonable prices, very conveniently located, always a great meal… Definitely recommend!
Good food and fast service for a party of 7! Would definitely go back! Our server was wonderful she took great care of us and we enjoyed talking to her too! She was very kind!

Great breakfast food at any hour! Coffee is fresh. Our server, Marcelia, was exceptional! Thank you!
Don’t understand the moaners on here, we are here from the hotel next door at least once every day to try something different, and the staff were always helpful and pleasant, food arrived quickly enough, if not quicker than most other places on average. One member of staff was excellent with us throughout our entire stay in New York, didn’t get his name, but hopefully he reads this, as he is a credit to the tick tick diner. Big guy from queens. Food is really nice and although is a little pricey, it’s what you expect to pay in a big city. Tried a lot of different foods on the menu and wasn’t disappointed. If you want posh food served for $300 a pop, then go elsewhere, if you want to eat good fresh classics like pancakes and waffles and steak and eggs and fries then this place is more than good enough. When we return to NY we will be back without doubt.
So part of visiting America was to try a diner too. Taking into account diners are somewhere to go to get easy no fuss food that is tasty this place nails it. It isn't cheap but when you take new York prices into account I think it's reasonable enough. Ate here a few times during my visit and found the staff to be polite albeit no nonsense which I enjoyed. Breakfast coffee is never ending if you so wish. The pancakes with bacon and eggs were great. Toilets are available downstairs. The staff do prefer if you tip in cash, with there being a charge if you pay by card which many other places didn't.

Always loved coming here especially for their Oreo milkshakes. Still my favorite thing on the menu. We had the traditional breakfast (eggs, bacon french fries) which was delicious. If you're there definitely order a milkshake
Great American diner food. Fulfilling and solid. Our waiter had a bad day but still did a wonderful job. Even helped us take a picture when he saw us struggling. I usually come late during the night and this is my go to for decent accessible food
Visited here shortly upon arriving in the city after watching several YouTube videos hyping it up and well, I was a bit underwhelmed - not in a total bad way though. There is an old school diner feel and atmosphere here which is pretty cool.
I came in when it wasn't super packed and decided on getting the Steakhouse Burger with fries. You get a good sized burger with patty, American cheese, griddled onions, some steak sauce and Williamsburg bacon (thicker cut bacon I'm guessing? I'm sure it said pork belly in the description on the in-diner menu but online it says different?) Regardless though, it was a tasty burger. The steak sauce brings all of the ingredients together well and I'm sure i could have finished a second if I wanted. The fries were warm and crispy and the iced coffee was a nice touch.
Service was a little lacking (I never got checked up on to see how the food was or if I needed more water), but the waitress was kind and pleasant, which was nice. I might have come in after an extremely busy lunch or in between shifts so I can't knock the place for that. When you've worked with food for a long time, you know how it is.
All in all, I had a pleasant visit and look forward to visiting again in the future and trying out the breakfast items.
On a recent trip to NYC, we arrived late to Manhattan, and we were hungry. We walked by the Tick Tock diner and decided to give it a try. It is the largest diner in NYC, and it is a classic diner. The menu has so much to choose from. I started off with a Manhattan, and it came in a metal martini glass. We split the basket of chicken tenders. It comes with fries, onion rings, and honey mustard. It was a great snack to share so late at night. This is a very cool diner.
Tick Tock Diner's breakfast is a delightful experience! The food is not only very good but also comes at an affordable price, making it a go-to spot for a satisfying morning meal. The menu offers a variety of options, ensuring there's something for everyone. The friendly service and cozy atmosphere add to the overall appeal, making Tick Tock Diner a fantastic choice for a tasty and budget-friendly breakfast in the heart of the city.
One of the if not the friendliest diners in manhattan, even when busy the wait never seems to be too long. Staff are always welcoming and food is served quickly and hot. Always a regular go to place for me and one of the few places in NYC I keep going back too. Apple cinnamon, cream cheese pancakes are out of this world a must try!!
We’ve went to the Tick Tock diner on 2 different days, so we were able to try both breakfast as dinner. The quality of the food is really good and the service was both times perfect. They make time to do a nice little chat and service all your needs. Only con is that they charge an extra amount when you want to pay by card.
Breakfast was always great here. The service was fine as well. It was convenient for us because we stayed at The New Yorker Hotel which this dinner is next to. There is also a private entrance from our hotel.
The bum side is sometimes homeless people come in and try to get food. We went to the restroom and came out to a homeless man asking my daughter if we were finished. I wanted to buy the man a meal but the workers told him to go away.
Other than that we enjoyed this diner.
Even if you don't stay in the New Yorker, you should try this out if you're craving that diner that has something for everyone.
They have generous portions, in fact I can never finish my meal. It tastes good and the service is decent, but not as personalable as a hometown establishment (it's NYC which is to be expected).
I have gone here four times when I've stayed in the hotel, but did notice some locals coming and going.
It's clean and has a comfortable atmosphere.
The downfall is their coffee is not good...
Food was good. Decor was retro. Service was fast. No refills. I guess ppl abused it. But enjoyed our dishes
Bucket list experience on my first trip to NYC was to visit a traditional American dinner to have a hearty breakfast with waitress circling topping my coffee, and this place did the trick. Went for salmon eggs benedict, really tasty, as were the large side of proper hash browns. Great service and it set me up well for another day of exploration.
The burgers were delicious and the fries were awesome. We would like to come again. Thank you for the delicious food.
