Review Arabesque - New York City

Beautiful restaurant! The food was amazing as well as the drinks. The lamb sausage was our favorite! The best part of it all was that the service was impeccable. Both the server and the restaurant manager really made an impression on us.

The food here is very good although I’m told that it’s not particularly authentic. Service is friendly, but unrefined. They offer hookah and the back room is reserved for belly dancing shows after 9 pm. The restaurant does a nice job giving it’s guests a Moroccan style dining experience, so if that’s what you’re looking for, it’s worth a try.

It has a hookah bar in the back which is apparently very expensive. I caught an occasional whiff of it and could hear all the dancing from where I was sitting. The decorations are cute and the ambience is nice. The mint tea was $10 per person, which I consider pretty pricey for the experience. The waiters were very attentive with us and making sure we got what we needed. The food itself was very good and sweet, but the salad was kind of weird since the cheese came in huge chunks and it was not tossed.

If you want to have a Great Hookah with great entertainment and belly dancer, with good food and an EXCEPTIONAL service and ambiance and positive vibes, then look no further!!!! This is by far the BEST restaurant I have been in New York . They have an authentic Moroccan cuisine with THE BEST HOOKAH EVER!!!!! (Usually I would get headache with hookah but this did not give me one and I am thrilled) Make sure to get the hookah with the pineapple head. The waiters/receptionist were AMAZING and attentive. We had great time and Will definitely come back again!!!

Beyond excellent food with exquisite flavor. Served piping hot (don’t burn your mouth!) and surrounded by Moroccan themed decor. The staff was very nice and there was also a belly dancer that made an appearance. I definitely recommend any of the tajine’s. Hope this helps!

We went to this restaurant to celebrate my sister's birthday and I absolutely loved the place. I love the way it is decorated, the staff was wonderful and the food was also very delicious. We had a big group and everyone enjoyed their meal. Definitely recommend the place and if I was a big Manhattan person would definitely return.

Fantastic experience! I stopped in alone for dinner on a Thursday night. I really like the ambiance, the several spaces to eat or drink or hangout. The food was excellent, I worked in Marrakech for several months and haven't had Moroccan food this good since. The staff here is excellent! My server, Nadia, was so polite, helpful, prompt and kind I left feeling sad to leave her behind, wonderful job and I was needy. The host or greeter was constantly walking the room and politely interacting and taking care of the guests, she refilled my water at least twice. The man who brought my food was the same, polite, interactive and seemed genuinely interested in my comfort and pleasure. The spicy hummus and pita was spicy, but I was trying to eat the plate that is meant for several to share by myself. I had the Moules A La Marocaine, so GOOD! I ate them all, and was using the shells to scoop and drink down the wonderfully flavorful, but not overwhelming, broth. And to round it off was the Kefta Tangine! Wonderful! A had a small bowl of couscous on the side to help soak up some of the delectable sauce. Oh, real, great Moroccan mint tea! You should get it sweet, it's so good. I will be back as often as possible and strongly recommend Arabesque to all. I hope you try it. This spot was great for an alone dinner, would be perfect for a date or couples and would be a lot of fun for a larger group of friends. Plenty of great spaces. I hope this helps you.

5 ☆☆☆☆ WELL DESERVED FOR *EVERYTHING* ABOUT THIS PLACE! First off, I called to reserve. The person who answered was very professional, friendly, and polite. Gave me all information that I wanted to know. I arrived on a Saturday Night and, was "sincerely" greeted by every person who I came in contact with. I was seated by the host and although it took me a while to order, I was always being checked on every 2-3 mins. It was my first time in a Moroccan Restaurant, and what was recommended to me was everything I was hoping for to taste! I had the "only Moroccan Red Wine" which was AMAZING! And had the Lamb Shank which I TOTALLY RECOMMEND, and the Couscous with Vegetables and Lamb. Portions were ON-POINT, Flavors were exotically delicious. There was a Belly Dancer who was SUPER ENTERTAINING and seemed to dance by PASSION! She tried to get the guests involved and dance with her. LOVED IT! Just wish it was for more than 30mins. Afterwards, there was a singer with a Moroccan style guitar which was who really made me just want to buy another bottle of wine and stayed practically ALL NIGHT! Had I not been dancing for almost the entire time being there, I would've ordered some appetizers to pick on. But that wine was just so good that I ended up just ordering another bottle instead of food. Oh well, it gives me another reason on top of the MANY REASONS, to return. By the way, the ambience was EXCELLENT as well. I cannot stress enough how much fun this place was. I also cannot compare ANY OTHER RESTAURANT (yet) in NYC that could possibly be close to better than Arabesque (generally speaking).

My friends and I go to a new restaurant every Friday. Arabesque was chosen because we were feeling dinner and a show. (The show did NOT disappoint!) I gave four stars because the mixed cocktails just weren’t up to par and I am ALWAYS here for a well made drink. We got the large Arabasque sampler and large mixed grill. Portions were absolutely perfect and TOO much if you don’t eat like the cows that we are. My recommendation: Order wine and hookah and enjoy that while your food comes out. Eat until your hearts content and then MAKE SURE you get out on the floor and dance with the talent asks.

Name has changed to Dunes Club in February 2023. Fantastic food! Same chef as Arabesque. Terrific service. Updated decor, modern Moroccan vibe.

So I read the reviews prior to coming and decided to check it out anyway... not sure where the bad reviews are coming from? Hookah maybe? I walked in solo, bartender was friendly and attentive, I was promptly and pleasantly seated at a table and served one of the best meals I've had since I arrived in midtown for work a month ago... cozy atmosphere, no hidden charges although house cab was $14 a glass, but that's not above average for this area... if you're looking for a nice dinner spot I say go for it!

Great ambiance. Great food. Great alcohol. All the employees were very friendly. There was live music, and we had great fun interacting with the owner and the singer. The food was delicious. The bartender was very friendly and made great drinks.

The palce has great Ambience and the staff (Specially Rizwan) was very friendly and gave great suggestion when it came to food selection. I dont smoke Hookah but my two friends absolutely loved theirs and how i know from personal experience how picky they are about their sheesha! Highly recommended!

Extremely delicious! Cheese platter with spectacular fig marmalade to start. Then Chicken Pastilla for the main course. Which is a feuille brick stuffed with chicken, almonds cinnamon, coriander and onions. When it was place in front of me the aroma of this combination alone was beyond satisfying. Once it hits your tounge the flavors simply explode into a symphony of greatness.

Super expensive, but satisfied my craving for moroccan food beautifully. Very nice staff.
