Today I was honored to have gone here for lunch with my aunt for her birthday. Since my parents moved to Florida, I would have to take a long drive to upstate NY to get some home cooked Lao food. But today I have experienced a home cooked meal. I mentioned to Phet that there was a dipping sauce that he made that is amazing "jeao bong". It was something my grandmother has always made for us. We really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and the wonderful owner and staff there. I highly recommend this place!
definitely authentic Lao food
food is delicious - if you never had Lao food this is the place to try / the spice is Lao style so suck it up - my 2nd time here - i had beef jerky comes with jail bong, papaya salad, soft shell crab, lobster stir fry, ribs with the green beans salad, and their sticky rice with the dipping sauce - the spread was delicious - thank you for making this lonely lao girl her favorite family food - i wait for some spicy cucumber salad!!! definitely the food was not salty as i read in the comments below -

This place has awesome decors and serves great Lao food. As authentic as it can get here in New York City. The chef/owner is super friendly and went above and beyond to cater to my little family. Pork spare ribs are to die for, perfectly grilled and falls right off the bone. They serve a variety of dipping sauce for the sticky rice and they taste uniquely different but all of them are delicious and pairs well with certain meat dishes. My two year is a picky eater but he loved the beef jerky with sticky rice and that was probably the most he's eaten in the 5days we were here in NY. We enjoyed our meal and if we were ever to return to NYC we will definitely be back to Khe-yo(green) restaurant .
This was one of the best Asian restaurant experiences I have had since I've been in NYC!! Everything was just perfect! The service, the cocktails, the decor, and of course the food was just superb. I ordered the red snapper and it was one of the best preparations that I have had of it. There is a perfect amount of entrees and appetizers, but I need to go back to try all of the rest. I hear they have a brunch which is pretty good and I can't wait to go to that! Came here from Brooklyn, but I would have traveled from Long Island for the excellent food.
Never disappoints! I have been going since it opened and it one of my top 3 restaurants in the city. The food is spicy and cool at the same time! Flavor flavor flavor! Staff is professional but not at all stuffy. Atmosphere is perfect for friends, dates, parents and kids! It's my first recommendation when people ask where to dine!
I was just there Friday night for my birthday. Live in PA, and have eaten here three times. One of my favorite casual NYC restaurants. Always order the beef jerky and pig face delicious!
Truly amazing food! Well balanced flavours and very friendly and helping staff. Highly recommanded
This Asian restaurant is good. I love the food that they serve here.
Thank you! I wished my parents was here to experience this with me!
Loved everything about it. Amazing food from my mother land. No need to go home to eat Lao food. The great Chef ai Phet, my brother from another mother I love you and your hospitality. See you very soon.
The food is fantastic along with Peter who made us comfortable. He was more than happy to answer any questions we had. I would recommend this dinning experience to anyone. On a personal note: try the Vanilla Rice Pudding and the Pork belly.

Came here with a group of 10 of us and here’s my take:
This place was so good I would definitely comeback. My favorite starter was the Brussel sprouts and the pho was amazing. We had way more than this but my phone died :/
Was really comfortable seating especially for a large group and service was relatively fast.
Atmosphere was good. Service was decent. Quail was flavored well but quite small. Pork curry came with pasta, not rice. Pho was to die for with lemongrass flavor. 5/5 for flavors, just a bit confused by proportions and pairing.
Service was good and the staff were very kind. I really liked the pork spring rolls but the chili crispy chicken had too much sauce for me. The serving size was very generous and it tasted quite good though. Lots of dishes here have cilantro so just keep that in mind if you want it separated from your dish!
I almost didn't write this review as I didn't want reservations to be any harder to come by. But Khe-Yo is deserving.
Picture this. You arrive at Khe-Yo and you are seated. You scan the QR code and look at the menu of carefully crafted small plates and shareable large bites. The candles burn with just the right radiance, and the murmur of the restaurant's patrons are just audible enough for you to realize you aren't alone. You breathe deeply and order the Crunchy Coconut Rice Balls with Spicy Lime Leaf Sausage.
You've done it. Laotian heaven is on the other side and your taste-buds will forever compare any and every other foodstuffs to what you just tasted.
This is our experience every time we done at Khe-Yo, one of Tribeca's not-so-hidden gems and likely one of New York City's best asian-fusion restaurants. Yes the ambiance is great, but the star of the show is truly plated.
Anyone leaving a bad review is either a paid actor or not talking about the cuisine. Run, don't walk to Khe-Yo and pray that Executive Chef Soulayphet Schwader doesn't get the inkling to try something new.
Khe-Yo is a culinary delight and perfect for anniversaries, low-key birthdays or any other celebrations.
Great service and very good food! We loved the cocktails too. Our server was very attentive!
The food was alright but a bit expensive. The service was very polite and accommodating but slightly slow. The brussel sprouts were good and so was the pork curry noodles.
Delicious Laotian spot that is part of the Marc Forgione group.
We came on a rainy Sunday and we’re quickly and warmly greeted. We had our choice of tables, but chose to sit at the bar. We ordered the Chili Brussel sprouts and a chicken bahn-mi which was more than enough for the two of us.
The food was top notch at a great price and the staff was incredibly friendly!
Highly recommend this lovely restaurant!
We recently had an amazing dining experience at Khe Yo in Tribeca! Let me tell you, it was fantastic. The flavors were out of this world, and the atmosphere was just perfect for a fun and enjoyable evening.
We started with their chicken wing special, and they were absolutely delicious! The wings were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
Next up were the steak noodles. Those noodles were a real treat! The steak was tender and flavorful, and it paired perfectly with the noodles. The dish had a great balance of flavors and textures.
One of the highlights of the evening was the pork belly lettuce wraps. They were packed with flavor and made for a delightful and interactive eating experience. Wrapping the tender pork belly in fresh lettuce leaves and adding the accompanying sauce was just heavenly.
And let's not forget about the Brussels sprouts! They were simply outstanding. Cooked to perfection, they had a nice char on the outside and a tender, flavorful interior. They were an excellent addition to the meal and added a wonderful touch of variety.
Overall, the dining experience at Khe Yo was superb. The dishes were super flavorful, and it was so much fun to share them with my companions. The inside space is really beautiful too! I can't wait to go back and try more.
We came in as a group of 6 and ordered many dishes. Really enjoyed the coconut rice balls and sweet chili chicken myself. A little on the pricier side (we also had cocktails). Would come back if in the area!
I stumbled onto this restaurant the other day and was glad I stopped by. I’ve never tried Laotian food before, but there’s a first time for everything! I went with the waitress’ recommendation and got the market bowl with chicken and sticky rice. Overall, the entrée has great flavors – spicy, tangy, and savory depending on the sides. I also got a Tamarind Ginger Soda, which was really refreshing on a sunny summer day. The service we fast since I came during an off-peak time. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant.
Sai Bai Dee!l (greetings in Lao) Khe-Yo Is A Laotian Restaurant that specializes in authentic Lao dishes. We had the honor of meeting Owner/Chef Soulayphet Schwader, who told us the recipes were inspired by his mother's recipes. Khe-Yo is the perfect place to celebrate any occasion. With the details of greenery throughout the restaurant, brick walls and the wood furniture, expect a welcoming , warm, and comforting dining experience! Be sure to celebrate Lao New Year at Khe-Yo from April 10th-15th. You can find more details on Khe-Yo’s website.
Our server Cali and the manager Nick were phenomenal. Once we entered the restaurant, Nick greeted us and treated us as if we were family! Cali brought out our food super fast and recommended the best items on the menu all while being so attentive. Thank you Nick and Cali for the hospitality! Everything was plated so meticulously, bringing Laos beauty through the bright colors and exquisite flavors in the dishes

My favorite was the sticky rice with the Eggplant sauce and the bang bang sauce (I had two orders of this). See you very soon Khe-Yo fam and Happy Lao New Year!
Had a great evening at @khe_yo on a Friday evening after work! Was already surprised by how tasty the drinks were (my lychee martini was amazing and fresh) and the popular sticky rice with sauces really made the experience even better! I’ve always loved sticky rice, and the eggplant sauce was pretty special too. Haven’t been seeing that here a lot! Pork lettuce wrap was yummy even though the skin can be pretty hard sometimes. Pad See Ew tasted more sophisticated compared to the usual ones I get from Thai restaurants. Overall just loved this place and can’t wait to go back again!
I visited on Sunday evening for dinner. It wasn't too crowded but the places filled up pretty quickly. However, I liked it because it was not too loud. Inside was also dark with very dim light. I also liked that it was not too loud even though the seats were right next to one another.
.
My favorite dish was the crunch coconut rice. It was like a rice ball that's crunch outside and soft inside with the sausage. Baby iceberg gave fresh taste to the dish. There were 4 balls in the dish.
.
I also liked the crispy pork belly wrap. Although it was very difficult to make a wrap out of what they gave us, everything combined taste amazing. A bit sweet and a bit spicy.
.
We also had salmon and spare ribs. The green curry in salmon was mildly spicy and salmon was cooked very well. It was very juicy inside. Spare ribs were good too, but it was a bit too salty for me.
Service was alright. Food was delicious but pricey for its small portion. Wished the portion was bigger especially papaya salad where 1/3 is cabbage, another 1/3 is fried pork skin and then 1/3 is papaya salad.
