I have been in this restaurant a few times before 2020 and back again found it very different. Service is definitely better than before. It used to be very noisy and hard to hear each other. Less quiet now and not sure because Sunday night. The food is alright as well as the drink, even though not too many selections. Overall, a good place for dining with friends and family.

Our reviews had over 37 million views last year. We do not get paid we just love to eat and have fun. We really loved Dirty French. Must get reservations but lots of tables. Staff is excellent. Great managers, hostesses and servers. Pamela was our server, has been there since 2015 and knows the menus inside and out. She gave us a ton of great ideas. Started with the deviled eggs. Just like grandma use to make with some fun spices. All dishes here are a homage to their name so you can expect french flavors but with lots of different "dirty" spices and flavors blended in where you would not expect them. They give you a giant flash fried bread dish with awesome onion dip style butter. Yummy!!! Then we had the famous mushroom millefeuille. Think of 1,000 layers of noodles with the best corn sauce (with some hot spice in parts) but the noodles are a very subtle mushroom. If I had told you it was potatoes with no mushrooms you would believe me because the mushroom flavor is very subtle. THIS IS A MUST ORDER ITEM!!! I also had the in house sausage with in house mustard sauce. Again the sauce was very complex and not what you would expect. Fantastic. For our mains I had their famous orange duck. Only limited servings availabe each night so you must ask for it and hope it is not sold out. Best duck I have ever had. Moist, inside, cripsy outside. Wonderful sauce (again note the "dirty" fun flavors in it) that only had a hint of orange. I will get that every time I have the chance. She had the hangar steak. Be sure to order it medium rare to get the most flavor. Very good sauces again and the fries are double or triple fried so very crispy. I love the fries this way. They are like the little ones at the bottom of the box of fries you get and they are exquisite. For deseert we had the beignets that come with the famous sauce from Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans or at least a "dirty" version of their sacue. These are served hot out of the fryer and are to die for. You cannot go wrong with this dessert. You get 4 of them but do not split an order, they are too good to share!!! Ask your servier about all the red roosters in the room and about the clown busts. Very funny stories. Look for the 3 frogs behind the bar and they will think you are a regular. We had a great time with great food and great employees like Pamela. We will come back again and look forward to many DIRTY nights again!!!! Check out all of our reviews. If we do not like it we do no review it so all of the ones you see are places that are fantastic. Follow us if you like. We had over 36 million views so far this year and we thank you for that. We don't get paid, we just love to eat. Be sure to click on "RobH" at the top of this review to see all of them and to follow us if you like good food and FUN. If we do a review it is because we love it.

Really nice place to stop by for food or drinks. The atmosphere is really relaxed and comfortable. Cozy fireplace sets the mood to enjoy tasty food on comfortable couches. Outdoor garden looks amazing will sit there next time i visit. Had the Parisian Baguette taste was on point, bread was crunchy and fresh. Pickles, ham and mustard had a nice kick. Cappuccino to top it off.

I came to Dirty French for brunch on a Sunday with a party of 4. We had a reservation at 1pm indoors, for which we were a little late but still were able to be accommodated inside after a little wait. This is a very cute spot that serves French food. Service was overall good and efficient-- I appreciated that all our food was brought out at the same time so no one had to wait around. We ordered some coffee that came in these really nice ceramic mugs. For food we ordered: - Croissant: delicious! Super flaky and a bit crispy but with a perfectly decadent and buttery interior. Came with some strawberry jam on the side which was great! I prefer the croissant alone since it has such good flavor already but a good change from what I'm used to. -Crepes Au Sucre: delicious crepes! Super soft and with a mildly sweet flavor. Comes with more strawberry jam, sugar, and lemon. -Profiteroles: amazing and filled with very good vanilla ice cream! The chocolate sauce is to die for. We used the leftover to add to our crepes sucre and it was an amazing pairing. Not overly sweet. Good portion for sharing since it comes with 4 individual ones. Overall, this place for the price was okay. Their breads are very high quality and the ambiance is amazing.. Solid croissants though and the ambiance, especially during the holidays with the decor, is very nice! Would probably only come back for a to-go croissant with some coffee.

In the midst of this melange, Dirty French stands out, rebelliously and unmistakably. Its name might raise eyebrows, but let me assure you, it’s as seductive as it sounds. From the moment you walk into Dirty French, there's a nostalgic nod to Parisian bistros, with a punk rock soul that's distinctly New York. The dimly lit ambiance, replete with vintage vinyl spinning tunes, sets the stage for an experience that is, in essence, a culinary rock concert. The menu? A daring remix of French classics. While purists might raise an eyebrow at dishes like the duck à l’orange with ras el hanout or the tuna tartare with creole seasoning, this is where audacity meets craftsmanship. Each dish is a journey, full of unexpected turns, yet deeply rooted in traditional French technique. It's a reminder that sometimes, the most authentic experiences come from the audacious act of breaking the rules. But what’s a good meal without a drink? Their wine list, much like the food, straddles the line between classic and eclectic. And their cocktails, bold and brash, are the perfect preamble to a night of indulgence. Service, too, is a delightful paradox: attentive yet unobtrusive, knowledgeable yet unpretentious. There's a sense that the staff is in on a secret, sharing with you a culinary rebellion, one dish at a time. In a city that's seen it all, Dirty French manages to surprise, seduce, and, above all, satiate. It’s not just a meal, it’s an anthem to the irreverent spirit of New York and the timeless allure of French cuisine. In the vast culinary tapestry of the Big Apple, Dirty French is a stitch that's hard to ignore.

We enjoyed several meals here during our recent NY trip. Excellent food and drinks! Nice service. The roasted chicken is delightful, the best I’ve had in a long time. So simple yet perfectly executed.

The food at Dirty French was excellent! Each portion of the meal was unique and delicious. The atmosphere is upscale and the lighting is dim. There are also various rooms or sections of the restaurant. The staff and service here were very attentive.

The service was amazing, and the food delicious! The cocktails were outstanding. Next time I’ll just come to try the desserts. It was not noisy so you can actually keep a conversation. Loved Dirty French!

I really enjoyed the brunch here! Gorgeous spot with great sunlight. Sat by the window and felt like we were in Paris in the middle of LES :) Located inside Ludlow Hotel! Fav dishes: - Pancakes were so soft and fluffy! It came stacked in 5 pieces but surprisingly very delicate to the touch. Also looked really good. 🥞Went well with the maple syrup & fruits from the granola yogurt bowl. - Egg benedict with smoked salmon came with a side of house potatoes which were delicious and nicely crisped with bits of fried garlic! Egg came a bit too runny for my taste but otherwise assembled very well 🍳 - Yogurt granola also went well with the meal as it complemented the savory egg benedict. - Service was good too! Wish they had the iconic chicken crepes during brunch 🤝🔜
