Love it! A place with lots of history and great food. We made a reservation last minute, if you’re not able to reserve using third parties call them directly, the staff is friendly and always willing to help you get a piece of their history. The food is very affordable and great portions you can share. I highly recommend making this place a must visit as part of your NYC experience. (😉 Ask them for their tomahawk for two special, is not in the menu)
Recently visited Tavern on the Green and was thoroughly impressed. The restaurant’s stunning location and beautiful interior set the stage for a delightful dining experience. The food was exceptional, and the service was top-notch. When one dish didn’t meet our expectations, the manager quickly resolved the issue, enhancing our overall experience. Highly recommend for anyone in NYC looking for a fantastic dining experience. I’ll definitely return on my next trip to the city.
The ambiance is wonderful for the holiday season and they were punctual with our reservation even though they were very busy. If in NYC I highly recommend going. The lobster mac and cheese had so much lobster in it I thought I just ordered a lobster. It was awesome! I wish they had everything listed on the menu. I saw someone had a giant pretzel in the bar area (not sure where it was listed). Someone else had a burger when we were at our table and I didn't see that on the menu but I enjoyed my ravioli.
Brunch at the Tavern On the Green was a highlight of our trip to NYC. This place is so iconic, in every way. It’s located inside Central Park, and we loved everything about our experience. Food and service were great, and they even have a gift shop. Great stop in our trip to NYC.
If you’re looking for a perfect brunch spot in NYC, this is it. Take a walk through Central Park and make a day out of it.
Guest note: they are often booked up for walk ups so be sure to make your reservation online via Open Table. If you do make it online, you’ll need to put down a credit card.
If it’s a nice day, I’d suggest requesting an outdoor table. I’m not sure if it’s just on the weekend but they play live jazz outside. A wonderful ambience for brunch.

Perfect Christmas dinner! Wonderful experience. The atmosphere was fairy tale pretty, the food and service was excellent. Very accommodating of the vegan in our party.
It’s an institution. It’s expensive, you aren’t getting out of there under 200$ for a family of four, but the service and the views and the story you’ll have seem to be worth it to me. My boy and I had an amazing prefix brunch
that lasted longer than I could have imagined and had us stuffed. My nine year old couldn’t finish his chocolate Sunday! How is that possible!
We have eaten at Tavern on the Green a number of times over the years, mostly at the outdoor patio section of the restaurant. Today, I met someone indoors and had a fantastic experience at the bar area.
On a separate note, what this place looked like 10 years ago versus today is amazing. The new ownership group did a fantastic job turning this special establishment into something magnificent. While Tavern on the Green is mostly for tourists, I still like popping by every once in a while, especially if the weather is nice outside.
Food was good, little vegan options, bread had dairy.
The meal was very filling, was delicious, but I'm sure something can be done to improve the vegan offer (bread, desserts...).
The atmosphere is extremely nice, especially towards the evening, the service is impeccable, the guys really are professional.
It's perfect for any occasion! Recommended.
This is a New York City Iconic Landmark that everyone should try at least once. Outdoor dining is preferred as long as the weather allows it. The food is good. Our server Noah was amazing as were all the other staff members. You would think that this place would be incredibly expensive, but it was actually reasonable for a NYC Restaurant. Credit cards are accepted. Clean facilities. We will definitely be going back.
One of the most iconic restaurants in NYC! Beautifully decorated for Christmas with live music inside. Had the absolute best meal here. The desserts are incredible too! Always one of my go-to spots.

I was here on a beautiful fall day. We sat outside, and the atmosphere was great with the live music!! The food was good, nothing extraordinary. We did have to wait a bit despite that we were on time for our reservation. Overall, I highly recommend this place for brunch!
Visiting from the UK, this was a place recommended to visit. Upon entering you quickly see why. It's a beautiful place inside and very intimate. The staff were amazing and very caring even though it was very busy. We ended up eating at the bar as initially we were waiting for a table to come free but as you can eat say the bar it was a very pleasant experience. The burger we ordered was incredible and certainly filled us up. So would I visit again or recommended to others? YES, you must add this to your plans if visiting New York! (Recommended booking way ahead if you want a table but otherwise you can just turn up but might end up waiting for a spare table).
Nice atmosphere and good place to grab lunch. Service was quick. Food was filling! Love that there’s a large outdoor area to eat. Cherry Hill mock tail and sweet potatoes fries were great! Salmon burger nice and moist.
Absolutely perfect day at Tavern on the Green celebrating my birthday. From the moment we walked in they made me feel very special for choosing the Tavern for my lunch celebration. You can’t beat the outdoor atmosphere, the delicious food, and the great service. Deanna, our bartender at the outdoor bar was darling and so attentive. She made some wonderful mojitos for my celebration! Highly recommend the salmon burger and sweet potato fries. To finish off our meal they brought me a delicious piece of birthday cake and vanilla ice cream complete with a candle. Favorite birthday ever! 💕
We had an excellent experience. Our server Tony was incredible. Very personable, patient, and attentive. The atmosphere was delightful, living up to its iconic reputation. And the food was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend the candied bacon appetizer and the steak and eggs entree.
What a magical place! I came 15 year ago to celebrate Xmas with my family and did not come back since then.
We were lucky as we were seated outside and highly recommend it you can.
Food is good, but you pay more for the place than for the food. The truffle Parmesan fries are magical.
The bar is magical as well. I recommend you to have a drink before the meal.
