Food Emporium

100% recommend. Great food and great people. We put in an order for Thanksgiving diner. There was an issue with the order, but they worked hard to make it right. Things happen, but it's all about how you handle then that makes the difference. They went the extra mile and made it right. Go here and enjoy.

I got the till and left my card at my hotel. The lady at the checkouts were great and packaged my items and let me run and get my card to pay without me having to go round the store again. A word to foreign travellers to make sure you have your actual bank card with you as Apple Pay won’t work They also have a great hot food section upstairs with great prices

This is a great place to get food and drink while in the city centre. We went a few times during our stay to purchase food and drinks for dinner - yes, it’s a little expensive compared to a large supermarket but it’s a lot cheaper than restaurant meals every night! There are vegetarian and vegan deli options which was important to me, and you can purchase beer and wine there. Brill!

For the love of God, don't go here for food unless you like paying $7 for 2 avocados "on sale." But for midtown Manhattan the beer selection is excellent, reasonably priced, and expertly curated. For the cost of dinner and drinks around the corner, I picked up 4 grocery bags full of crazy beer bottles and cans that my wife and I will enjoy for the next 2 months

I usually walk to another lower priced grocery store but it’s been closing early since the pandemic started. So I decided to give in and grab a few things here at the Food Emporium. The freshness of the fruits and vegetables are unmatched in this neighborhood. No small feat. It’s well lit and the colors of the produce section calls me like a vegetarian siren is singing lol. I also like how they placed the vegan items in the produce section. Awesome stuff. The Food Emporium on 9th Ave is conventionally located in the heart of New York City’s midtown area. As soon as you walk through the revolving door on street level you are faced with a huge choice of pre-packaged and freshly made hit and cold meals. They are perfect to grab on the way home from work to eat for dinner. Or stop by and get breakfast or lunch; the food really is delicious. You will be surprised at how big the grocery section is downstairs. You will need to take the escalator. I personally didn’t see any other way down there. I am not sure if there is an accessible lift but I didn’t see it. As soon as you go down the escalator, you are faced with a beautiful display of fresh fruits and vegetables and deli supplies. The grocery store is jam packed full of absolutely everything you can think of and more.

Great location two story downstairs they have all the bread and it’s more like a supermarket upstairs is most ready made food such as salmon, meatballs, sushi, salads etc biggest variety I’ve ever seen on hot ready food and it’s not that bad I really liked it and enjoyed shopping here, the prices are high in my opinion but I think that is everywhere in NY the rents are high so they have to make it somewhere, if you do downstairs and still need to shop upstairs just tell the cashiers you will pay upstairs they will let you no problem. Al in all great location and you will find anything any supermarket will have.

This a a large store with full stock of fresh food , groceries , alcohol , sundries , medicines vitamins , minerals etc etc. Fresh food made daily upstairs. As you enter a atm available. There is a cute area to sit down and enjoy a coffee or a snack on the go. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly with me at checkout. Lighting in the shop is good A large variety of vitamins and headache tablets. Averagely priced ! Self check out is for cards only and not cash Produce is fresh and there are some exotic fruits also available. Did notice that a gent with a Zimmer frame ( walker) found it very challenging to enter the store as the turnstile isn’t Automattic. No WiFi available here
