Zen ramen is a small restaurant that feels hidden. They do have a nice outdoor covered area, as well as single seating and group tables inside.
The wait isn't too long , and was only 15 minutes.
The food was extremely good and came out quickly. I had ramen and some sushi rolls. I was able to eat it all and felt full. The prices were quite affordable and competitive.
The service was mediocre and I had to flag then down for more water, but as I understand for Japanese restaurants this is more normal so I didn't dock them for that.
I spoke to people there while I was waiting tog etc in and they loved the place and went their regularly and it seems the staff were good about knowing the regulars and their orders.
If I lived in the area, I believe I would be a regular myself.

Best happy hour after work spot ! The food is absolutely fresh and delicious! Every single thing that we order is always so good! Their drinks are actually really good and strong for $5! It can get really crowded after a certain time and wait times can be long. The servers are also friendly, professional and amazing. First time there we had Wenty and her service was A+. The charge less if you pay cash.

Delicious! We had sushi and the seared trio appetizer! We gobbled up the appetizer before remembering to take a photo. We ordered the Red Phoenix, a Salmon Avocado roll, the Zen roll and a Tuna Avocado roll. The sushi was fresh and tasty! Our server was so kind! We will definitely be back!

Great sushi. Fast service.
Came here with a party of 11 and waited for a table outside. They brought us water right away and took our order. The miso soup we ordered came just a minute later and shortly after we were done with the soup, our sushi had arrived. It was all very good.
Next time I’m back in town, I’d definitely check this place out again.

The food here is so good. Went for my birthday and returned a week later. The seafood ramen is amazing, Shrimp, octopus & squid. Their sushi portions are really good. Outside seating is preferred. Inside can get a little stuffy when they're crowded, which is most days for lunch and dinner.

Great spot for sushi but didn’t get a chance to try the ramen! There wasn’t enough room inside so we had an outdoor table. It was nice! We ordered a bunch of happy hour sushi which was delicious. Really enjoyed the tempura rolls and the spicy crunch tuna rolls. Everything was presented neatly. The food tasted clean and fresh. Definitely will be going back.
Since we sat outdoors, there was fresh air and pretty clean dining tent/area.

Popped in for a quick bite on a short trip to NYC. Wasn't too hungry but after eating what I'd ordered, almost got more because the sushi was so fresh and yummy!
Even though they seem really busy, the hostess and servers know what they're doing, and service was quick as well as attentive.
Prices are reasonable and as a plus - they give a 10% discount for paying in cash. Would 100% go back if I lived in this city.

Came here randomly and came out really satisfied. The service is very quick I ordered the spicy tonkotsu, sushi rolls and edamame. Everything came out very quickly and the server Tak was very friendly and attentive. Overall every food item was delicious and looks just like the pictures. Will definitely come back here when I return to NYC!

When I visited this location, I found myself starving and decided to indulge in two sushi rolls and the chicken katsu curry. I must say, it was a delectable experience. The sushi rolls were incredibly yummy, with a perfect balance of flavors and a satisfying freshness. They were a great appetizer to ease my hunger.
However, it was the chicken katsu curry that truly stole the show. The curry itself was out-of-this-world fantastic - rich, flavorful, and just the right amount of spiciness. The breaded chicken served alongside the curry was delightfully crispy, adding a satisfying texture to the dish. My only small complaint would be the portion of curry sauce. While it was served on the side, I wish I had more of it to fully savor its deliciousness.
Overall, my experience at this location was a delightful one, particularly due to the sushi rolls and the fantastic chicken katsu curry. If you're a fan of Japanese cuisine, I highly recommend trying out this spot. The flavors are on point, and the crispy chicken combined with the delectable curry sauce will leave your taste buds satisfied. It is a packed place as it's NYC, but some tables have transparent separators probably from COVID, and some don't.

You HAVE to come here!! This place was absolutely delicious! The waitstaff was understanding and also funny. They were lively and attentive.
The tempura crawfish was phenomenal and the sushi, too. If you’re on the fence about getting the napoleon roll…just do it. I was amazed how good it was.
The atmosphere was pleasant, clean, and the perfect amount of slightly tight New York space. It was authentic and cozy. We felt so welcomed here! We will definitely be back here next time we’re in NYC.

With complete confidence, I can say this was the most delicious spicy tonkatsu I have ever had! I walked in for lunch based on reviews. I'm from out of town, but you can tell many of the patrons were locals and frequent the spot. Zen has some really inexpensive lunch specials. I came for ramen exclusively, but I did add one of the lunch specials. It was 2 sushi rolls and a side for $9!! Service was fast, friendly and excellent. I will definitely keep Zen on my list to return to when I am back in NYC.

Wonderful food, Wenti was an excellent server and supported with the rest if the staff. Beef Ramen was delicious, ate most of sushi before I got a picture it was that good, and bento box was good as well.

It was my first time at Zen Ramen&Sushi and I have a great experience. Amazing atmosphere and service! Food came really fast even in a packed restaurant. The broth was tasty and noodles cooked to perfection. I order Beef ramen with extra shiitake mushrooms. It was cold day in nyc and ramen was delicious 🤤🤩 highly recommend 🙏🏻

Food was awesome. In from Buffalo, and the ramen was amazing. Pork was so tender and delicious, broth was rich and super tasty. Teriyaki chicken was super good as well. And we had the Beef Ramen and salmon mango roll. Nothing disappointed at all. Great experience.
