Review Shake Shack Grand Central Terminal - New York City

Septiana Wulandari
It's quite a long line and the servers aren't the friendliest but they make a good burger. Their brioche bun made all the difference. Remember to always order the double patty because their patty are very tasty and they're honestly pretty small. The fries aren't as good as the one in madison square park, but the cheese sauce saved it.

If you know, you know. Shake shack speaks for itself. Very high quality fast food burgers. I added fried onions to the shake shack burger and it gave it a great touch. The cheddar fries could be a little more crispy. The oreo shake was delicious but i recommend it be more cold. Its located in the food court in the Grand Central Station. Given how many people walk in and out and how much in a hurry they are, shake shack serves justice there.

Since we tried Shake Shack near Central Park and loved it, we had to give this location a go…just to check their consistency 😉 Not only was the classic double and chocolate malt totally on point, and just as delicious as the other location, the service was super fast, even with a constant flow of customers. Nicely done! The setting is great and watching the hustle and bustle made for a fun show with our meal. Friendly and helpful staff rounded it all out making for a great stop.

Burger and Fries tasted good, although the burgers did not look very impressive (see picture...😁). Smooth ordering and pick-up.

When I travel to New York I always make sure to visit a Shake Shack. The hamburgers are very tasty and made with quality products. The service at this Grand Central location was quick … and patient since my English is not good.

I recently tried the burger at this place and was pleasantly surprised by the flavourful patty and the soft, delicious bun. The quality of the ingredients definitely stood out. However, I found their beer selection to be limited, mostly consisting of pricy options from Brooklyn Brewery. In the future, I might stick to ordering their tasty burgers and opt to enjoy a beer elsewhere. Overall, it's a great spot if you're looking for a satisfying burger,

This particular shake shack is located in the food court level of Grand Central station, food is justice. Typical as any other shake shack but it's great. The one thing that I will say is when you order food for pickup they will have it ready within minutes and you never have to wait once you get there unlike other shake shacks

So the service was slow. We almost missed the train today as they forgot our order. When we did get our order the meals were hot and fresh. The fries hot and fresh, my favourite thing and the vanilla milkshake is superior. The cheese burger did not impress soggy lettuce, tomato and bread which I discarded. Chicken burger my aunts was fresh, and kids meal was fine of chicken nuggets and fries. The servers gave us a million ketchups also but no straw for the milkshake perhaps this is self service.

Great burgers and staff that help move the line get your order well. Choice of tablet or classic ordering. It's still a bit of wait during Sat lunch time, at least 30 mins.
Fred Contacts
Still the best place to eat burgers. Simple but tasty patty in soft buns. Shake shack does it best. In and out burger may come close but this restaurant still has an edge. McDonald's is a distance further in quality. Once I read that it's patty is refrigerated but never frozen. It explained the juicy taste. I am not sure if it is still the same now.

I love the burger and fries at the Shake Shack because they are simply delicious. Even though the location at Grand Central Station is not the the food chain's first restaurant, it is a product of a NYC original. The self order kiosks are convenient and easy to use to customize your meal, even down to selecting the ingredients on my burger. We had a late night meal here on a Thursday. Still, it was pretty busy past 10 at night, but then this is at Grand Central Station. Another cool feature is that the restaurant's tables are made from recycled wood from old New York bowling alleys. Tech friendly, socially conscience, amazing location, and great food is a winning formula in my book.

Located downstairs in the grand central station. The Shake Shack if a decent fast food chain. The meat is very tasty but if you are hungry I do recommend to get a double burger.

Shake Shack is an American fast casual restaurant chain based in New York City. It started out as a hot dog cart inside Madison Square Park in 2001, and its popularity steadily grew. Their most famous product is the ShackBurger. Available in single or double, it contains a beef patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato and a proprietary sauce known as Shack Sauce.

Closest location from my work but u need to plan ahead coz it's super busy even more during lunch time even if u order online, take ur time to go pick. But it's worth the wait. Shroom burger is the best along with cheese fries.

If you’re looking for a spot to eat before your plans in NYC, despite how busy it may look, they have machines to order if you prefer ordering that way. Despite that it may seem there are no seats available fortunately we were able to find a table and our food took about 10 mins and they do have someone staffed to walking around, wiping down tables, and super friendly!!

Being a Vegas, I checked in to this place for it's World Famous Shroom Burgers, & the burger was worth the hype! Just that you got to be careful while hogging it as the patty is super hot. Shroom Burgers are a must try, and the shakes are amazing OMG, you got to try their Coffee Shake! It's Heaven.
I.eat.i.rate
The popular Shake Shack burger. The meat is flavorful with a hint of smokiness. The buns is soft and toasted. However I still prefer In&out over Shake Shack. The overall combination of buns, meat and sauce is better with In&out.

AMAZING. What is there to say about Shake Shack that hasn’t already been said. Exactly how a burger joint should be executed to simplicity and perfection.
Ritesh Jaiswal
Tasted their famous Crinkle fries. While nothing was particularly bad about them, nothing was exceptional either. Surely, the cut is unique, but other than that, everything's just okay. The cheese they give along with the fries is not the best tasting variety. The fries, while I wouldn't call them cheap, are reasonably priced. Probably a little more quantity would have been better.

If you want just regular fries, this place is for you. You'll find it at multiple places in the city and will not be disappointed by the servings either.
Patrick Diller
Tried to use the Kiosk to order, was little confusing when we had multiple people using it for the same order. The burgers came out quickly and where correct with our special orders. I was a little leery at first since it is a chain, but it is much better than other "fast food" type burgers.

Wow !!!
A heaven for meat Burger lovers .
I had smoked bacon hamburger with cheese fries with a shake. It was so delicious that I didn’t feel like going to work at all. A must goto place for all.
Jyoti
We went here for a quick lunch during our walking tour to Crysler Building among others sights.

Incredible service considering that it is a fastfood restaurant. The burgers are soft with great beef. I strongly recommend their regular fries (NOT the cheese fries - that’s too much of the good stuff).
Chirag Anney
some of the best burgers, fries and shakes i have ever had in my life and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. would definitely recommend tourists to check it out.
Veggie Gobblers
For every vegetarian traveling to New York City and loves mushrooms should try the Shroom Burger at Shake Shack. They have many branches all across the city so it’s easily accessible. Most important the burger is so succulent that it just melts in your mouth. Size of the burger is decent enough for one person and at a pocket friendly rate. It is probably the yummiest mushroom burger we‘ve ever had.
Ana Serra
The burgers are simple, but great, very delicious.
However, I think the star of Shake Shack are the milkshakes: what a delicious bomb of calories, it's worth to forget the diet here. I tried the fries with cheese and bacon and it was awesome too. In overall, I like everything here.

I've been drooling over shake shack from Australia, finally experiencing it was awesome! The burgers, fries and shakes live up to your expectations. Grand central terminal was busy but we managed to locate a table, overall our experience left us with happy tummies.

The best location to grab your breakfast on the way to office. I love all the shakes here. The best one for me was Salted Caramel. Truly thick and perfect taste of caramel.
SaraThi
Hot dog was not much good. Problem with shake shake is food was not hot. As per the cost, quantity of food is very less. Finger fry must to try. So big crowd to get food. Better download there app and order it by online.

OK We finally did it. Shake Shack has many customers salivating for its burgers so we caved in, joined the hype and lined for 15min to order our foods, scrambled around for 10min to get a spot to sit, then waited another 20min to get our orders. Yup... sheeps we are!!! First of.. at this stage, 3 weeks into our holiday, we're simply eaten almost all the fatty foods we could take. I got the chicken burger - Crispy chicken breast with lettuce, pickles and buttermilk herb mayo. and the hubby of course ordered the double patty option - Cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato. Throw in a sides of fries - Crispy, crunchy, salty potato-y goodness! and a thick shake we got yourself our lunch for the day. Overall good the burgers were good. The thick shake was extremely sweet and thick though.

I love going to shack shack. It's always been my go to spot for grabbing burgers and shakes with my boys. We like to go there whether we just got off work or if we're going to the club. The food never disappoints. We usually get the same thing every time. Vino and Myself always know what we want. The burgers are always real juicy. They don't skimp on the meat like other burger joints. I ain't no vegan if you know what I mean. I don't mess around. I love the fries. Perfectly salted potatoes are my go to for filling up on carbs so I can pack on some muscle. There ain't no replacement for this shake shack. New York is where I'll die.

Fresh beef burgers, better than restaurants... the lettuce and tomatoes are so fresh and perfect, it was like out of a photo shoot. Just the thing when one is starving and wanting sustenance. We hit the shack by the natural history museum on upper west side twice on our trip, and each time it was sooo good. The deep fried portobello burger was delicious too, for the vegetarians out there.

One of my favorite places in NY to have a burger.

Love their SmokeShack burger - a mix of juicy beef patty with the crisp of bacon making it a must have delicacy.

+ the buzzer for order intimation is a great idea : many years on still is unique to them

Every time I visit New York, I always see a mega line up at Shake Shack. Seriously mega, like in-n-out of the restaurant. And every time I wonder, is it really worth it?. Thankfully, there are many locations in NYC. The Grand Central Terminal didn’t have such a big line and the food was served reasonably quick.
Pedro Diogo Castro
There are several Shake Shack's in New York, but since we were at Grand Central we decided to stop for lunch. In my opinion are the best hamburgers I have ever eaten. It's a drool! I recommend

I went to Shake Shack because everyone talk about this place and the burguers... love it! The burguer was very tasty and it was very fast. I know New yorkers always eat in a rush but I think it could have more seats, I was so tired that day from walking around (tourist) and I couldn't get a seat

Finally tried Shake Shack! Had burger, fries and shake: said yes for a Shack Stack (as suggested by family) - Cheeseburger and 'Shroom Burger topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce $9.59 + Crinkle Cut Fries $2.99 + Black & White Shake $5.29

I've been reading a lot of blogs prior to my trip and many people has been raving about Shake Shack for years now!

So worth it, the toppings are fresh, grass-fed beef, service wasn't too fast but not bad at all. Good portions for the price as well. True that muenster cheese is made for melting, smooth and yummy :)

The Black & White Milkshake was a great suggestion for pairing with burger and fries but will be good water next time so I can finish everything!

If you're around the area, you may also check The Gallery at Westbury Plaza for a little shopping!

There is Nordstrom Rack, Bloomingdales, Banana Republic, Gap, Off 5th, Old Navy and more!

Shake Shack

860 Old Country Rd, Garden City, NY 11530, United States

+1 516-620-2880

The shack burger, fries and milkshakes at Shake Shack are so tasty that it can become a weekly habit. With such a variety, it can still be a difficult choice. Should I have a concrete or a custard today? Toppings? Or a shroom (mushroom) burger? I am not fond of the hot dogs because by the time it is ready the filling has made the roll soggy. Beer and wine is also served.

Originally it was a hot dog stand in Madison Park that evolved into a store front in the park and added all kinds of delicious American nostalgic fare with pasture raised meats and good ingredients.

The stock may go up and down, but people just love eating them so there will always be a market for it. Danny Meyer and his Union Square Hospitality Group have Shake Shack as their diamond goose. A money maker all around and with so many locations including some abroad.

There is even a webcam in Madison Park to let people know how long the wait is. Best is to go to the locations at Grand Central or Battery Park City as the queues go by fast. Or wait till it is raining, Thanksgiving or Christmas as there will be hardly a soul around.

Let's party!!

I finally made it to New York City - the place I dreamed of since I was a little girl. I thought one day I could be the editor of the New York Times. Lofty goals, I know. But I had never had the chance to visit New York City ... until this fall. I meticulously planned places to go, things to see and, of course, food to eat.My incredible friends Kaitlynn and Josh drove into the city from Boston on a Friday night. As soon as we got to the city, we immediately went to Grand Central Terminal - a beautiful, beautiful site. Not only did I want to see Grand Central Terminal, but I could also get a burger at Shake Shack. It was pretty busy, so we got in line and waited our turn. I paid. Then, we got a buzzer for when our order would be ready. When mine went off, I went to the front of the line. The woman behind the counter grabbed the bag with my name on it, looked up and said "it's empty." I gave her a puzzled look back. "That means somebody probably took it." Oh. So, my order went back in queue, and I waited some more. When my buzzer went off this time, my burger was there - as well as a complementary order of fries for having to wait. I took my single Shackburger (cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce) and order of fries back to an open table. These burgers are good! For a fast food burger, it's damn good. It's a good patty, the toppings were fresh, and I dig the sauce. And even though I didn't order the fries, they were still good. Free fries taste even better.Grade: A

Muy buena comida, si quieres comer comida rápida este es una buena opción sin embargo no recomendaría comer en el grand central ya que esta en una especie de food court el cual se encuentra muy lleno y un poco oscuro.

With a succulent beef patty and a perfect bun to condiment ratio, Shake Shack Cheese Burgers are luscious.

This particular restaurant's location is just as remarkable as the restaurant itself. It's located inside the food court at The Grand Central Station in Manhattan. The spectacular hustle bustle of passengers scurrying around provides for keen entertainment while you slow down and enjoy your meal.

I recommend this chain in general as their restaurant at Harvard Square in Boston is just as good. They are consistent with their food quality.

On my USA journey, I knew it wouldn't be complete without a burger. Man, was I glad to find this gem. Shake shack was so delicious. I got shack burger with bacon and it was so tasty. You could taste the ingredients were fresh, fresher than McDonald and in n out. I would happily come back to shake shack as it's the best burger I had in America. They need to move to Australia.

This is my second time having shake shack and I went to the one in uws. There was plenty of seating, hardly anyone in line and the food came quickly. I have been craving their fries forever and there's nothing like it. People have their preferences like in and out in the Bay Area, but when in NJ and NY, there's no other fast food place to go to than shake shack. Their shroom burger is delicious. Their fries are crispy. Yum. I rarely eat junk and shake shack is the best place to get that fix. Those fries are really addictive. I'm so glad I've been able to resist from getting more than one order of fries lol. Shake shack hands down wins my vote for best burger joint. Their fries are way better than in and outs paper tasting mess. It's even better than Gots aioli fries and Habit Burgers rosemary fries and their veggie burger is awesome compared to Gots and Mooyahs awful black bean burger. Shack shack just doesn't compare.

My brother knew that Shake Shack was the place to go for delicious burgers. It had good reviews and relatively cheap too. I so loved their milk shakes so yummy!!!

Too crowded to get a table inside, so we ended up moving out. But Shake Shack is definitely worth a try. Two tries, perhaps even more. Queue is always a bummer, but the burger is legit, from the bun to the patty and sauces - as close as you can get to perfection!

Oh my God... this is a lovely place to met and eat the one of the best burguers of the world!! =)

Stumbled across this amazing burger place just down the street from our hotel and honestly, I am tempted to never bother eating a burger from anywhere else ever again! Delicious, freshly made to order burgers and fries and a Brooklyn Brewery specially made beer to wash it down. Heavenly! Rian

This post is from March 2014. Before I had my baby. Wondering why I didn’t get to updating this sooner. This ‘shroom burger – their mushroom burger is fairly decent. The mushroom doesn’t overwhelm you. Fried, it’s perfectly crisp with cheeses oozing out and complemented well by that soft and subtly sweet burger bun.
Joana Araújo Paiva
Melhor hambúrguer de nova york em termos de fast food. As filas são enormes o que desmotiva um pouco mas o sabor compensa. Espaço muit cheio também a nível de ocupação é difícil de arranjar um local para sentar

I wasn't that hungry but my friends really wanted to eat here so we stopped by. I just had a ShackMeister Dog (a cheese topped hot dog) and as I took the first bite I saw a huge black hair covered in cheese going from my mouth to the hot dog. Needless to say it was a horrible experience and probably won't ever eat again at this location. Staff was really nice and made me another but I really wasn't hungry anymore. EW.

Bet everyone was waiting for me to do this. Yes I am a local whose guilty pleasure is shake shack. Day and night, these fries and the shack stack are the cure for everything. I guess it's the cheese

Shake Shack has got the best hamburger I've tried in NYC. I love it. There is a huge variety of hamburgers and french fries, to choose from. Of course I'll come back when I'll have the opppotunity, and of course I suggest it.

The Shake Shack in Grand Central has always been my destination for late night eats. The cheese fries are my usual go to but they really aren't anything special.

During my last visit to Shake Shack I had an amazing experience. A friend and I decided to grab some shakes and ice cream after a day in the city and Shake Shack was our final destination. The line was extremely long but one of their servers was giving everyone samples of what they were thinking of ordering.

They line moved fast and the whole staff was so friendly and really engaged in small talk with their customers. It was one of the best experiences I've had at any restaurant in grand central.

I really need to actually have a burger there soon! I don't know how I've gone this long without trying one out.

Que hambúrguer tão bons! Melhor mesmo só as batatas fritas e o molho de queijo cheddar derretido.
A quantidade de gente à espera da sua refeição é interminável e quem aqui trabalha não se pode sequer distrair. Muito muito bom!!

I hadn't had a Shake Shack cheeseburger in probably four or five years, mostly because I couldn't imagine standing on line in Madison Square Park for forty five minutes to get one (if I had an intern though...). Now that they've expanded and forty five minute lines aren't the norm, I returned and, for the first time in the challenge, when I bit into my lunch, my eyes widened. "Holy shit" was the rough translation. This is an amazing cheeseburger. Even better than Five Guys, which I honestly didn't see coming. The burger had the perfect ratio of cheese and sauce and bun and the meat was perfection. Even the bun was better than your average bun. Every flavor note that a cheeseburger should hit was hit. I may be willing to stand on that line now.
Carolina Correia
The best burger I've had in my life. Endless waiting lines to be served (we even saw people waiting outside the restaurant while it was freezing in Mid-February) but it is worth every second you wait. I can't wait to eat another one and I am truly hoping that one day I can do it in Portugal!
Big Red Bob
Worth the wait in line- don't know how staff stays friendly but they do

Scrumdidallyumptious. In the words of Jimmy Fallon: "So good". You gotta love the superior quality of their burgers...people from Italy in this place were commenting on how great it is! AND THEY'RE ITALIANS! Must try.

I had heard so many good things about Shake Shack and their amazing burgers but surprisingly not that many reviews about their milkshakes, which you would assume is the star. When we went to New York, we knew we had to hunt one down. As Grand Central was a place we were going to stop by on the way, we headed to the Shake Shack in the dining concourse.

My friend recommended this place to me and it's been on my list for a while. Finally tried and it was delicious! They have a number of stores in NYC and I went to their Grand Central Terminal location. Good things come to those who wait :) No fancy decoration and the food speaks for itself. It's like the East coast equivalent of In-N-Out if you ask me... :P I ordered the ShackBurger, chocolate malt, and hand-cut fries. The burger is juicy and flavorful, malt is thick, and you can't go wrong with their fries... We had a late dinner reservation and was tired of shopping (yes that happens when you bought too much already), so we decided to head to the closest Shake Shack ( @shakeshack ) which happens to be at the lower level of the Grand Central Terminal which I wanted to stop by. It was not an individual store but more like a food court, a dinning concourse. There was quite a line up, I guess it's because it's dinner time but the service was surprisingly good with a staff directing people to the line and replying any question you may have. Find a seat while waiting for your order with the pager Shackmeister Ale ~ Shake Shack Beer from Brooklyn Brewery Wanted to visit the brewery but didn't have time, so next time but was glad to at least be able to try one of their beer. Day one in NYC and I decided to start with a lunch at famous Shake Shack. This branch was situated in the iconic Grand Central station. Shake Shack to me is a cross between a boutique burger place and a chain store with a established reputation for its fluffy half open bun packed with a yummy patty. This makes it sort of fall in the middle. Meaning was it legendarily unique? or just you know, just plain old good. Whilst their menu was a page long I decided to go with the fan favourite, the Shack Stack. True enough, it was stacked the American way with a generous crumbled portobello stuffed with mozzarella, a slice of cheese burger patty, lettuce and tomato. It was pretty damn big! Taste wise, I felt a little hesitant to say that I was entirely bowled over by the combination. The patty was tasty and the shiny bun was really a class over most but I did not quite like the stuffed portobello. The mushroom by itself was quite bland and with a cheese like Mozzarella, the taste of the
