I came here for Restaurant Week from a hiatus from here. I’m glad that I have came back and boy the food was good. The brisket chili was really good and tender. The ribs were so huge I definitely had leftovers. Their homemade bbq sauce is really good smoky, sweet, and a hint of spice. The shrimp biscuit was divine. I didn’t take a picture of it but it literally came with like 20 pieces of shrimp and that sauce was heaven. It was creamy with a hint of cajun spice. That plate deserve 5 stars. The cocktails here are also good too.

Situated in the heart of the flat iron district, Blue Smoke is one of the best BBQ joints and restaurants I’ve been to. We split a few samplers and appetizers between three adults and two children. The sampler comes with brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken, and sausage. The only complaint is that the chicken, while not dry, was not fall off the bone moist like the rest of the meat. If you come here, you must do a buttermilk biscuit and / or the cornbread. I’ve had both and they are amazing. This is also one of the few restaurants in NYC that is non-tipping. You’d think the service would lack; however, similar to the food, all the staff were incredibly friendly and pros in the hospitality business. I will definitely be coming back many more times.

Yes!! Being a native North Carolinian, I pride myself on my BBQ IQ (yep, that’s a thing). This place checks all the boxes and more! Brisket was amazing, ribs were delicious, Mac-n-cheese was how every other place should do it, collards were excellent, biscuits were some of the best I’ve ever had and the cornbread was perfectly done. I will be craving this until I get back here!

Nothing disappointing about this place. AT ALL. The venue is part restaurant and part jazz club downstairs. The atmosphere is vibrant and cosy, with a nice buzz of locals in the evenings. Nice decor, clean, and The service is absolutely top notch. Engaging and friendly, the staff are more than happy to explain anything and help out their customers. On the drinks side, they serve lots of local and house ale and beer options, atop the usual import suspects. They also show a nice cocktail menu and mocktail options, and of course, wine a plenty! You also get complimentary fresh filtered water, not tap water! My group and I had a lovely waiter who gave us some complimentary devilled eggs and some biscuits as a little starter; both delicious. As a Brit, used to proper scones (the closest things to American biscuits); I can say that first the first time I enjoyed eating them; full of flavour and a wonderful texture. The ribs are super tender and full of flavour, and fall off the bone. The brisket equally so. Even the salad options will leave you stuffed as there’s plenty of meat and extras to compliment the leaves. The burger is also a simple but classic, and awesome, meal here. The big plates like ribs and brisket are served “family style”; coming on big platters and sides are extra, but worth it. The fries taste like they’re double fried; fluffy with a crispy shell, and a nice coating of subtle seasonings. The coleslaw is creamy and crunchy, and not too heavy at all. No tipping here; the prices are a bit higher on the menu but I can imagine that any gratuity is built into the menu. This is a nice way to do things and give some the impression that the staff are well paid. Given the fantastic service level; wholeheartedly justified. Go here for your BBQ fix in NYC! I left with a full belly and a smiling face, and will return on my next visit to this city.

I came here with my sister and girlfriend last weekend. My sister loved the brisket. It was quite good. We all really liked the baby back ribs. They were great. What I was amazed by was the pork "wings," these little concoctions I have only had here. My god, try these. Theu are exactly what they sound like, a pork version of fried chicken wings. The biscuits were delightful, thick and fluffy with a light sugary glaze. The mac n cheese was good. These little cornbread madeleines were delightful, and the sauce they came with amazed us. We spent what we felt was a reasonable amount of money for three people having barbecue. Blue Smoke is worth a visit!

Who doesn't like BBQ right (oh, probably that vegan below who complained about going to a BBQ place and no meat free option)? I mean after apple pie BBQ is my second most favorite food. We all have our favorite joints and I'm surprised I haven't tried Blue Smoke yet. Time to change that. The space was nice, comfortable and spaced evenly as you aren't cramped and not so loud. The dining space is quite spacious. It was a busy night. Our server took awhile to get to us but that did give time to look over the menu and catch-up. We went with the cue classic for 2 people. It gave us all the options plus sides so a good sampler. We found it wasn't that much food if you are hungry. The portions was plenty to share and the sides equally enough. You still even had room for desert if desired. There was bottle of BBQ sauces (one slightly spicy and regular) to add if you wanted on the table. The Cue Classic came with Baby Back Ribs, dry Rubbed Chicken, Smoked Sausage, Chopped Pork, Shoulder, & Beef Brisket with Every Side, Pickles, Jalapeños, and Biscuits. Of the plate I think I would rank in this order of favorites: brisket (nice a moist - good on its own or with sauce), ribs (tender, falling off the bone - I liked with just on its own), smoked sausage (nice texture), chopped pork (kind of mushy) and chicken (was okay). The sides pork & beans (flavorful, not too sweet), Mac & cheese (super creamy), collard greens (always need some greens right?), coleslaw (was okay), biscuit (flaky, but prefer corn bread), french fries (who doesn't like fries!), creamed spinach (never been a fan). We are lucky to have so many options for great bbq in the city. Blue smoke is certainly a great option but still doesn't beat our favorite but that would mean having to trek to Brooklyn and the other one on just on the other side in the same area.

The only reason this place isn't 5 stars is it's a little pricey for portion size. We ordered ribs, brisket, Mac and cheese, and 2 cocktails for about $92 for two people for a late lunch/early dinner. However, the practice of tips being included offsets the high price, and I am a big fan of restaurants paying employees a living wage! We arrived at 3pm on a Sunday looking for lunch and were invited to sit at the bar until they reopened for dinner at 3:30pm. The Porch Swings Again was delicious, but the mint put in my drink did have a touch of rot on some of the leaves, which was a little off-putting. When we were seated, the food came out really quickly. The ribs were melt in your mouth delicious, and the Mac and cheese was creamy. The white barbecue sauce was made for ribs. The portion sizes did want me leaving a little more, but I would definitely come back to this place for good barbecue.

Really good bbq. Alabama wings were SO good and nice to try since they are different than any other wings I've had. This is a no tip restaurant and the servers honestly could not have been nicer. For being a bbq place, I didnt come out smelling like smoke. The ribs were fall off the bone delicious. I also really enjoyed the coleslaw. The brisket was good. Mac and cheese was too cheesy for me if that is possible? But the person I was with enjoyed it. I think 10 wings, 2 meat options and two sides were too much for 2 people but we wanted to try everything! Highly recommend their blue smoke ale.

A very friendly welcome and excellent service throughout. Plenty of space between tables with all the usual condiments to hand. A great menu with choices like Baby Back Ribs $21, Chopped Pork Shoulder $18, Turkey Pastrami $17 and Barbecue Salmon $22. Sides to include Mac & Cheese $14, Pork & Beans $10 and Side Salad $9. We chose the 'Cue Classic' at $45pp. This included Baby Back Ribs, Dry Rubbed Chicken, Smoked Sausage, Chopped Pork Shoulder, Beef Brisket, Every Side, Pickles, Jalapenos and Biscuits. The four of us devoured every mouthful! Superb tasting food with the meat just melting away in our mouth. A really good smokey flavour. Washed down with a pitcher of beer, it was an excellent dinner. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.

Blue Smoke was fabulous. Like all of Danny Myers’ restaurants, Blue Smoke Grill has great food and great ambiance. I had some brisket along with some fries. It was all great. The brisket was not too big and not too small, and it was soft, pretty easy to cut, and it was delicious and filling. I enjoyed the food so much that I forgot to take a picture of it! The ambiance is good. It was pretty loud, but the comfort of the place took over my mind, so I didn’t really notice the loudness. It is pretty easy to find. The place is kinda close to the Flatiron building and it is a few blocks down from Penn Station. The service is good. The people that work there are patient, very cheerful, and they know what they are doing. The drinks are also very nice. I had the "Cheerwine" cherry soda from North Carolina, and it was really good. To sum up the taste, it tasted a lot like a Shirley Temple. There is a bar, the restaurant is very big, and for some reason, there are big stars hanging from the ceiling in the back of the restaurant.
